Russia is gonna claim that the people are nazis who staged a coup if Orban loses or is removed from power. The Revolution of Dignity in Ukraine in 2014 (where the corrupt Russian puppet was removed) really pissed them off.

Main luck will be that its significantly harder for Russia to invade Hungary and land troops necessary there to make this believeable. Not that they have those troops anyway.
I am more interested what the EU will do if there is indeed an Orban coup. I don't expect more than thoughts and prayers for the people who will get mowed down in gun fire.

Those of us that support dethroning Orbán are very afraid that Orbán will throw in enough dirty tricks to sabotage the process. We already seen a lot of irregularities. Over-the-border voters receiving the votes of their dead relatives. Certain people sorted to be minorities to take away one of their votes.
Right now, Orbán is playing a circus where they uncovered a bomb plot (with a backpack full of explosives that somehow never went off) on one of the big LNG pipelines we share with Serbia and heavily imply that it was Ukraine. Ukraine who right now is on the cutting edge of drone and self-directed bomb deliveries somehow decided to rely on a backpack full of explosives.
The people supporting Orbán are in a propaganda bubble paid for by our taxes. Just like how MAGA voters in the US are in Trump's cult.

If hungary keep Orban, I expect their ostracisation in Europe to be absolute and last decades. How I vote in future European elections will depend on the candidate's condemnation of that country.

Ukraine gets money from delivering LNG through it. That's why it is still willing to sell its enemy's oil and gas. Ukraine has begged Hungary and Serbia to buy oil and gas from elsewhere and offered alternatives. No, only gas and oil from Russia will do for some reason.
