Hungary's foreign minister offered to send his Russian counterpart a document about Ukraine's EU accession process, leaked recordings purported to show
EU needs a system that handles outright treason by member states.

Don't get your hopes up. The Hungarians have consistently disappoint everyone for years. I'm pretty sure that this time their EU membership is at stake, despite their usual cries of "there is no mechanism to eject us".

What I do know is that they are not just holding the EU back but they are also a security risk. I honestly don’t see why they are still in the EU.

Hungary needs to be given a great big ’F*** off’ tablet, also one for their master.

I truly hope the polls are correct and there's a landslide victory for the opposition.

Is there a chance? Fidesz had over a decade of gerrymandering and changing voting process to ensure their victories. Even with high % of votes against them
On top of that - victory has to be strong enough to be able to start mending the country. Poland (which had 8 years of similar action by Fidesz-lookalike Law and Justice) shows as an example how hard it is to reverse damage done if the election victory is not total. There is still mess in their judicary and constitutional tribunal - basically leading to two separate justice systems co-existing. They still cannot regain control of media regulatory bodies either

Yes, there is a very good chance, even counting in cheating and gerrymandering. And yeah, the opposition needs super majority to clean things up properly. There is a chance for that also according to the polls.

I don't think the US polls ever confidently predicted a Dem win. It was always a toss up for the most part. In the case of Hungary we are talking 15-20% lead by opposition by aggregate pollster data.

Us polls correctly predicted the outcome. There was a big swing toward Trump at the end, maybe it was the “immigrants will eat your cat” messaging or something

I mean the voting rate will be 150%, of which 123% will have voted for Orbán. Even North Korea will be jealous. I highly doubt the amount of cheating that will happen can be taken into account.

Own national interests such as becoming the EU's most corrupt member and pretty much committing espionage for a hostile country.

Most corrupt? Have you seen what was going during Covid and people like Ursula von der Leyen?
Contracts were made over SMS, then "lost" and hundreds of billions of € gone and nobody knows where. The comission was trying to investigate and its almost an impossible task. Not to mention that the documents published were completely redacted. The EU elite is corrupt to the core its just that nobody speaks/reports about it.
Why do you think the EU military is in such shambles even though most countries are paying a considerable amount of money for it? It's because it all disappears into pockets of companies who know sombody who knows sombody etc.

After Tisza victory, It would be really great if any US network newcast (ABC, NBC, CBS) would report its own news program for one night from Budapest, Hungary.
Like this whole story is worth for one edition of *ABC World News Tonight* with David Muir reporting from Budapest.

No one deserves to be expelled from NATO more than Hungary.

It’s been obvious the entire thing though… why were Orbans Hungary even privy to anything remotely sensitive?
