I hope everything works out for you but just a heads up, you might not click with the first therapist you find. A lot of people switch, don't stay with the first person just because you feel you have to.

Yeah I hope so too and so true, don’t get discouraged if you don’t fit with the first therapist just keep going no matter what. The fact that you are going to one is a great move for yourself

Big first step well done, will be hard at first but be 100 percent honest, you only get as much as you give.

Just remember, sometimes older people have been through a lot more and might have good insights!

Hey good luck to you. I also suffer from mental illness (depression, addiction issues). It's an up and down. But from here to there, moments show up that show that life is worth it. I hope you will see the same. What are you suffering from? You dont have to answer if not comfortable. All the best!

I'm really happy to hear this. If I had any advice to give it would be to be honest with your therapist. I know that this sounds obvious but people spend a lot of money on therapy but get no results because they don't come clean when a therapist asks uncomfortable questions. They are either too embarrassed to answer truthfully or they don't fully trust their therapist. Don't be that guy/gal. Thanks for sharing the good news!
