I've seen everything. Every drama, every prestige TV show, every critically acclaimed series people rave about. And I keep coming back to the same answer.
Peaky blinders is such masterpiece show where all the characters were giving best of best performances. Be it Tommy, Arthur, Luca, Polly, Alfie and many more. All of them gave their best shots. If you've ACTUALLY watched this show you know what I am talking about.
The writing never talked down to you. The music choices were insane in the best way. And the way it was shot...it never felt like you were watching TV.
Yeah, The Wire would have been drastically improved if every episode had a stylized slow motion walking to music scene /s

The first two seasons were great. Season 3 less focused and S4 was a hot mess, albeit with great performances.

I think the opposite, people overappreciate this show to an absurd degree. For one season it was watchable, the rest were insufferable plodding repetitive garbage, more interested in looking cool than writing absolutely anything of worth.

I think a ton of people watched it and it got a movie?

So what you're saying is "I don't think everyone likes this show as much as I do."
And you'd be right. It was fun and novel for a minute, but very quickly became a parody of itself.

SPOILER ALERT: COMMENTS RE THE NEW MOVIE INCLUDED:
It was brilliant but the new movie feels very rushed and frankly not deserving of the name. I don’t know if there’s a new Peaky Blinders coming set in the 1950’s but the movie felt like its only purpose was to be that timeline/character link and the procurers knew it.
Bit of a money spinner for Netflix. Could have been good but instead felt like a filler, not really planned, no particular skill applied, just getting it done so we can move on to something else like a 1950’s series quickly.
As i say I’ve no idea if that’s the plan but it just felt like it watching the movie. Only my opinion so reach your own.

Oh I don't know, maybe we could have some more of Tommy Shelby being sad, depressed and suicidal? There was only about 10 episodes of that previously.

1950s series will be trash as are 90% of movies and tv series are nowadays. Since when has it gotten so difficult to be a good film maker?

Similar to this show? Boardwalk Empire though last season was a disappointment.
When it comes to a personal preference there's no right or wrong.

I finished season 3, or maybe 4, and then got behind. I need to catch up one day.

I think people should be allowed their own opinion and you should try to be okay with that, as difficult as it may be for you.

It’s cringey nonsense. Tommy Shelby is a shit character with no emotions. It’s not gripping. So far from a masterpiece but each to their own.
