I feel like I'm the odd one among my friends

Posted by HuntChoice4495

Actually it's not just a feeling, but I know that I really am the odd one among them. It's just that I feel like I'm so different from them? Most of my friends like gaming, yapping and just wasting time. But I'm a peak introvert even in my friendships and neither am I interested in things they are. I just like studying, being alone, and doing things I like or watch series I like. Someday my mood to even talk to them completely hits rock bottom because I just dont find a point in it? I feel like I'm being fake towards them because sometimes I don't even like talking or engaging with them. But it's also not like I can cut them off or end up being a loner in life. I actually don't know what's even happening in life rn.

Look at it this way. You are your own person. You still hang with them because they mean something to you. Just because you may drift in some ways doesn't mean the friendship is over. It's just that everyone is finding their way, it's nothing personal.

Yeah I guess you're right. But sometimes I just can't stop overthinking if they'll end up sick of me

If they know how you and that is how they still treat you then cutting them off might not be such a bad idea. Maybe people do grow apart. Maybe when they stop growing together

Actually they treat me well. The issue is me itself, I end up comparing people and I feel like they're all far better than me.

Then you know that. Continue being who you are. Life comes first, nothing change. We only change if it's necessary or due to breakup and all that. The friendship is not broken, don't try and fix it. Just because it's not the same does not mean the feelings change. When you get time together. Enjoy it. When you just want to hang and talk do it. Be there. That's it

Everyone's rhythm is different,You don't have to force yourself to get close to your friends. You can make new friends in your new hobbies or habits.

That is a good choice. If you feel the friendships are not worth keeping them just end it in good terms. Where you pass them on the street and still be able to acknowledge each other. It doesn't have to be tragic

It's just so hard at times, being someone who ain't interested in much of things

I sometimes lose interest in various things.I will choose to go out for a walk and get some sunshine, which is very helpful for my mood recovery. Maybe your life is a little bland, then you can try some new fields and new projects to stimulate your senses.

That's really nice. Yeah even I too would love to try something but I've also been living a busy life, and sometimes I'm just burnt out too. And then this feeling that I'm different from own friends just worsens my self esteem.

When I started on my project. I was in a bad place. It helped me, but again. It had its own affects on me

I’m the same. My friendships were mainly established around shared activities The way normal people talk is just too superficial and redundant to be of interest to some of us. It’s okay.
