I feel like the constant bombardment of AI bs online has killed the lighthearted Aprils fool jokes.

They've been kinda shit for years now, well before AI started to become a thing. It's just easier to notice now that everything else has dropped in quality, too.

I'm just mad that this year, because we are living in an Onion Article in the US, it's hard to tell what is bullshit and what isn't on some things. A county near me posted they were going to start enforcing a law that said all horses pulling Amish buggies were to start wearing diapers to eliminate pollution from rain water run off washing the excrement into waterways. It sounded fake (and it is) but for a moment I was like, if I see a horse in a diaper I'm gonna lose it.

Some communities still have pretty good ones. For example in the rhythm game community there is a game made by Sega that is not available to play outside of Japan arcades called Ongeki. I think Sega sued someone who showed it off in the US or something even. Because of this secretive/exclusive nature of the game, the owners of the Konami rhythm game wiki called Remywiki decided to put inside the wiki page for a list of song packs on actually playable in the US Konami games an Ongeki song pack that was released on April 1st. It’s not actually a real song pack you can buy is the joke. It’s not anything big but it’s silly because the wiki owners are basically teasing us by saying “hey you know that cool music game Ongeki that you’ll never get to play normally? Look! You can buy Ongeki songs for games you *can* play! Oh? You’re excited to get a taste of that mysterious game? April Fool’s, *nerd!!*” Not anything big but I’m sure some people feel silly about the whole thing. Good lil prank imo.
