I Love Boosters

I saw an advance screening of I Love Boosters with Boots in attendance last night. Truly a phenomenal film. Original, surreal, and the chemistry is off the charts. Keke and team are at the top of their game and Demi as well. Boots talked about his process afterwards and it really makes you appreciate how much love, time, and energy they bring to the table. It is the type of film you can feel the synergy between the cast and crew. Nothing was spared, every idea was a resounding YES. I haven't been this giddy about a film since Everything Everywhere All At Once. Boots mentions that this film needs a ton of word of mouth to make it successful. This is me trying to pay it forward. A night (and movie) I’ll never forget! Thank you to the cast and crew of I Love Boosters. I will be seeing this multiple times in theaters.

Is this going to have a huge political backlash? If it’s anything like the lyrics of “I love boosters” it seems like there will be some insane discourse around a pro-shoplifting movie.

Boots holds no punches here! The movie is uncompromising. I don’t think it’ll have huge backlash because the central story is surprisingly more intimate than Sorry to Bother You, while being just as sweeping in scope. Boots has many bones to pick here, but keeps the focus on Keke and crew.

Hell yeah I cannot wait to see this especially now hearing good things! I lived in Oakland and my spouse regularly served Boots at her coffee shop job and he was always lowkey and nice so I always wanna support him and Oakland peeps. Excited for this one!

She was amazing at being despicable, so an emphatic yes! You loathed her every time she’s on screen, but also laugh at her zaniness.

I am excited for this, except I know it won't be released anywhere near me so I'll have to decide if it's worth driving a long way to go see.

When the trailer came out, I sent this to my (adult) son and said. “Do you want to go see this in May?” and his reply was “I was going to ask you the same thing.” Yep, I raised him right.
