I'll be honest, I loved this show up until the 1st half of season 3. But the 2nd half just lazily undid most of the character development of the series just to force a pseudo reset. And thus I gave up on the series. But this month I was bored and did check out the whole of season 4 and then I realized that the whole reason why i stayed for all 8 eps is because I kept expecting more to happen, but it really doesn't. It's just a few good action and character scenes, followed by huge scenes of filler. Then there's the lazy writing, Neuman could've killed the sheeps, she didn't because plot. Vaught knew where The Boys head office is this whole time, I thought they didn't, but only chose to attack it now? Seriously? What's with Annie not beating Deep's head in?
Oh and speaking of Annie, girl your man was SA'd by someone that looks like you and treating it as if it was him cheating on you is wrong. To me that makes Starlight look like the person Firecracker makes her out to be when they had their conversation at Vaught tower. That whole post Doppelganger interaction between Starlight and Hughie just felt gross. And I'm a person that loves gore and raunchy humor and isn't grossed out by either so when I say something is gross it has allot of weight. I'm so sick and tired of male SA being treated and either nothing or someone cheating. Hughie should've pointed out that he was SA'd and be angry with Annie for being a typical CW series stereotype. Both of them should've realized both were victims, Hughie way more than Annie and should've worked on healing together but that's too much to ask from this show. I also read the show runners defending the various Hughie SA. So gross.
Anyways that was the final nail in the coffin for me. Not gonna check out season 5 as I assume the writing is gonna get lazier and I really don't like supporting shows that treat SA of any kind like the way they did in this show.
I've never understood why people feel the need to broadcast they don't like something. Others like it, not everyone has to--it doesn't need to be for you and that's OK

whenever a popular show comes out with a new season, the contrarians and engagement-baiters come out of the woodwork to post shit like this

Narcissism, main character syndrome, desire to score brownie points among other terminally online folk...
Take your pick, really.

Dude, it’s a sublistnook about television and this person is voicing their opinion about a show. And the opinion has some very well articulated critiques. I see nothing wrong with it.
Do you just want people glazing every show in every post? That would be boring.

It's for the same reason that people broadcast what they like. Sharing opinions and discussing things

Let's be real most of the time it's because people want validation for their opinions.

What's wrong with that? Its basically what built listnook into what it is today

I don’t think op was looking for validation with his opinion on season 3 of a show that is on season 5. He’s too late for validation as the people who feel that way have probably all left the sub by now.

The same can be said of your comment. People like to start conversations about things.
If you don't like it, that's OK. Just don't open the thread.

By the same token you could say it’s hard to understand why people need to broadcast that they like something and get upset when someone feels the opposite way. Not everything is for everyone and just because you like something does not mean no one can say anything bad about it.

What about those that broadcast they do like something? not everyone has to like it. It doesn't have to be for me and that's ok

but isn't the point of listnook to have discussions? so why can't we discuss why we don't like something? why does it always have to be about something we "like" or "positive" ?

I stopped watching after s2 and tbh im glad because everything ive read and even what my friends have told me about the show says that its only gone downhill.
S2 was already okay at best but i remember getting annoyed that Homelander wouldnt do things just because the plot demanded it like i think he should have killed starlight in the elevator scene, same with the boys themselves once he figured out their identities as theres nothing really stopping him.

I guess you'll miss >!Butcher getting a superpower that's pretty venom-esque!< But it's ok. I would have been much happier if he got taken in by the >!Cancer!< But just watching season 5 to watch the series kill itself pretty much, just like GoT. It's funny to watch as a comedy
