The most we can hope from them is overwhelming support of the trump regime. If the government handed a person a gun we can't expect them to stand up for what's right, they've proven there's no line that this regime can cross that they won't stomach.

Serving in the military is a path to citizenship. It's a tradition at this point. Shoot when I was at BMT my MTI had our flight help an at-age-limit trainee with his facing movements etc. to ensure he graduated and could get his citizenship. It was really important to not fail the trainee, and this MTI would fit most stereotypes of Republicans otherwise. The military isn't law enforcement or immigration enforcement, so as long as folks stayed out of trouble your family ("legal" or not) was our family. I do not recognize the country I served.
