I expect this will cause more people to become anti ICE because people who could previously ignore them will now have their own negative encounters.

So, are the guys who were afraid of being doxxed going to be showing their faces in the airport where they can be photographed and identified by passengers, or are we in an era where masked men with guns and no uniforms are allowed to roam the airport?

TSA is just like "Sorry, we've gotta take this, move along," when that happens since it's fairly common and not that big of a deal, but you just know the tough guy morons that make up ICE will treat every instance of that like the person is trying to pull off a second 9/11.

They'll probably flip their shit the first time a family tries to come through with parents fumbling at this and that and then the toddler just bolts. Or someone's coming through with a cat or small dog in a carrier and the critter is not enjoying the experience.
The bolting toddler scenario actually happened to us, except the TSA agent present shoved my documents back into my hand so I could grab my kid and suggested a backpack with a leash. He was very kind about it (said he had one for his kid). Unfortunately, my kid didn't want to wear a backpack.

As a flight attendant, I can speak that most SIDA (airport ID) offices are run by the agency that operates the airport (the City of Chicago for O’Hare and Midway; the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for the the New York airports for example). They have very strict rules the issuance of airport badges: 2 forms of ID, fingerprinting, and background checks. And they have to have a local person directly accountable and fines are huge.

Getting a SIDA badge is a process that takes time. A background check and the SIDA test is part of that process. No way thousands of ICE agents are ready to go on Monday, but considering the daily shitshow that is our corrupt administration I can see them hand waving all of that.

Until something goes hideously wrong (which it will, 100%).
At which point a round of scapegoating and deflection occurs, which would normally result in a bunch of resignations, but we all know in this admin it'll just be a reshuffle and everyone responsible will avoid any kind of reprimand...

Which also means, lacking the other qualifications and skills and training, their number one tactic will be racial profiling,
So anyone who looks middle eastern is going to get accosted.
Let's just hope anyone who actually wants to hurt the US doesn't hail from some other background. No, that's not sarcastic, people would die, and terrorists don't care who gets hurt as long as it sends the message.
Also not anywhere as big, but the world knowing TSA is being run by ICE thugs is going to do *wonders* for what remaining tourism industry we have.
And the TSA agents not being paid are just going to love that Trump's solution to their struggles isn't to solve the political issue by making some concessions, but instead to replace them with ICE agents - an agency whose funding is now higher than the Marines and aren't about to run out. Surely there won't be any resentment there - surely if this works Trump won't just leave them there and tell TSA agents, slowly but surely more and more, to go home and deal with that struggle on their own.

Also don't forget that this administration is getting around any Federal employee requirements by contracting with (in my opinion) very shady entities.
Fed employees take multitudinous annual and other periodic training - which is documented and they are on the line for complying with the requirements established therein). Even if all of the ICE personnel covered up were all Feds, there is no way they have received anything other than briefings to do the most harm. No f****** way.
Let that sit, Trump voters, as your gas prices go up and your Social Security is about to be cut off. You blame "others" for what the 1% and their cronies, wannabes, and disciples are doing to you. And they don't care that you distinguish - in the way you were taught - that you look, speak, or live different from those "others."
You are still the "working class," no matter the "collar" of your job. You are not special, and you are next.
The conservatives have done a fantastic job over the last half century to wear away all of the gains that the "little people" fought so very hard for, across race, origin, and economic class.

An example is the purchase card, used to procure supplies and services, usually < $10K.
Yes, sometimes someone does something illegal with a card. That is why PL 112-184 exists, and is implemented (or was) across all agencies and departments. Training, internal audits and risk assessments, IG audits and reviews, and semi-annual reporting to the OMB. And that is why they get prosecuted successfully with lots of documentation.
And now you have a.....person (and all other recent offenses aside)...spending over $200M TO HAVE PICS OF HER ON A HORSE IN FRONT OF PEOPLE WHO WOULD BE HORRIFIED OF HER VERY EXISTANCE.

The more power he gathers, the worse shit will get. He's not a lawyer, but having worked for INS/ICE his job is to turn the racist shit coming from Stephen Miller and his racist friends into actual implementation in a practical, regardless of legal soundness. It was worse than that. The fine print said if they got the bonus and didn't keep up the numbers they had to pay it back. Let me find the article I read

Paid like $10k a year, and if you don't serve all 5 years you have to repay it lol. It's the new indentured servant.
Btw, lots of shitty jobs do this for retention. Huge red flag.

It’s not about a shortage of general money. ICE was fully funded through a different bill. the funding for DHS at large is up, and that what’s being used as a bargaining chip to “rein in ICE”, but ICE is unaffected by it, ironically. But there’s not a lot of other avenues that affect the leadership of DHS, so that’s what they’re trying to put pressure for change at ICE.

A year+ spent harassing brown people and being racist, murdering nurses and gunning down same sex couples.
Ice is going to hate having to stand around and actually "work". They all think it's fun and games, squeezing titties to find bombs.

People in our country, killed by ICE.
People in our country killed by losing affordable healthcare and other social services.
People in our military killed in battles we shouldn’t be fighting.
Civilians in other countries killed in battles we shouldn’t be fighting.
People killed by preventable diseases like measles that are having a resurgence.
People dying due to religious-based, government-enforced restrictions on women’s healthcare.
Thousands starving, sick, and dying because vital US aid was pulled from other countries.
Future millions killed by preventable diseases and lack of scientific and medical research.
Trump and his handlers are among the worst mass murderers of all time.

They have no idea wtf they are doing either. Just watch Tom "cash bribe" Homan's interview from this morning on CNN, it is like he was told about this 2 seconds before the interview. This will be a mess if it happens, mostly due to incompetency in leadership and it will lead to confrontations with airline passengers and ICE, especially if ICE are wearing masks in airports.

Honestly, this is an excellent development. Instead of separating immigrant families, they are going to sit around and do nothing at the airport. Maybe they'll show up masked with guns and everyone who goes through the airport will have to see that, confront that fear, and realize how insane it is. Meanwhile, air travel prices are going to go through the roof because of what Trump's War has done to the oil market.
Let everyone who travels experience Donald Trump's combination of incompetence and brutality firsthand.
