ICE official says agents will "hate" helping TSA at airports

They've been showing clips on CNN of what the ICE agents are doing at the Atlanta airport. lines for TSA precheck are 2-4 hours, yet ICE is standing around in groups of 4 chatting, walking in circles, unintentionally blocking the bag carousel, and basically doing f*** all.

I would have put "helping" in quotes.

ICE will be in public view. People will be evaluating what they do for a salary that for many range $100-200k. And I'm thinking that many in ICE got used to a good amount of "down time", not living the dream (sarcasm) with the TSA.

I was just saying this the other day. These tough guys all joined up to hate on minorities and immigrants and now they have been reduced to ensuring your bottle of shampoo does not exceed 3.4 oz. I will not be surprised in the least if we see one of these "agents" shoot someone in line, thinking they are still on the street.

Was at San Juan airport and can confirm ICE agents aren’t masked. Saw lots of people taking pictures of them and they were trying to lay low. Seems like they don’t want their picture taken. They were just standing in a circle chatting and not looking at the lines. Did not seem to be helping the TSA situation one bit.

Duh, because there are so many witnesses and cameras that work and you're there under extreme scrutiny of the other local and federal officer agencies. Plus the airport is filled with entitled US Citizens and legally accepted US guests who need to go from a to b in a hurry. That means ICE are under too much pressure to FOLLOW THE LAW! Of course they will. I always hate going through TSA lines because they can be tedious and traveling is already a headache. But I’m still polite and friendly to TSA agents because it is an important job. But ICE can can go f*** themselves. I’m not about to give them the same cordial treatment I give underpaid TSA agents. I’ll follow the rules, of course, but nothing more, and I’ll do it with dripping contempt.
