They've been showing clips on CNN of what the ICE agents are doing at the Atlanta airport. lines for TSA precheck are 2-4 hours, yet ICE is standing around in groups of 4 chatting, walking in circles, unintentionally blocking the bag carousel, and basically doing f*** all.

Considering all the “planning” that went into this, I’m not sure what else they would be expected to do. They aren’t trained on any of the machines or processes. It’s literally like if you were told to go to some random job site and “help out” with no other direction. It’s not like there’s much busy work at the airport, by design it’s a (relatively) clean and efficient place.

Trump is sending ICE into airports, where they can piss off MAGA and normals alike. Where their incompetence is captured in millions of cell phone videos. Where they aren't even masked. Meanwhile, they don't get to do the one thing they signed up to do, which was murdering immigrants with impunity. Retasking ICE neutralizes ICE, and neutralizing ICE protects our communities. Everything is dysfunctional under a dipshit like Trump, but if the intended function is murder and the actual implementation makes the fascists miserable, then this is a small win.

From the article:
Federal immigration agents will “hate” being deployed to assist airport security operations amid Transportation Security Administration (TSA) staffing shortages, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) official told *Newsweek*.
“The HSI agents will hate it,” the official said, referring to Homeland Security Investigations personnel. “I’ve not heard any talk of this within ERO (Enforcement and Removal Operations). They want us arresting and deporting aliens.”
The official, who requested anonymity to speak freely, said they first heard about the reassignment when they were contacted by *Newsweek* over the weekend.
The Trump administration has begun deploying ICE agents to airports nationwide to assist TSA, following weeks of disruption caused by the partial government shutdown, which has contributed to staffing shortages and longer passenger screening times. Some airports have advised travelers to arrive hours earlier than usual.

Nothing more Americans than a bunch of overweight angry white dudes standing around with AR15s being bored and angry.
They were untrained to do THEIR jobs properly. Now they're doing airport security?
Pure lunacy out of this administration, from the head lunatic.
Some kid with a white ballcap will fart and they'll hit the deck and mag dump...for great justice.

Wonderful. Exactly what we need. Agitated ICE agents who are known to have wonderful discipline and self control. In crowded public spaces. With access to large amounts of non-citizens mid travel.

Ice is not exactly the right choice for an emotional support animal. Try something fluffier.

Of course they will. I always hate going through TSA lines because they can be tedious and traveling is already a headache. But I’m still polite and friendly to TSA agents because it is an important job. But ICE can can go f*** themselves. I’m not about to give them the same cordial treatment I give underpaid TSA agents. I’ll follow the rules, of course, but nothing more, and I’ll do it with dripping contempt.

Regretfully I was a scab once. I was rightfully chased around by union workers while I poorly did their job. No scab should feel safe when crossing the picket line. You are actively taking food out of their families mouth, and you should be punished appropriately.
