so these little punks who like to cosplay as soldiers want to hassle the families of real soldiers. that tracks.

I think this is another one of Miller's attempts to force confrontation personally. Otherwise, you have to be the dumbest m*********** on the planet to put a bunch of middle aged fatties with their ~7 weeks of training against a whole Company+ of 18-21 year olds who just spent the last 13 weeks training to fight and kill.

And that group is looking at the wrong end of the Iran War versus the Fatzies are targeting their families.

ProfessionalBench832 Mar 31, 2026 +19
No. Hard not that. No one wants military involved in ICE confrontations. This is to weed out "disloyal" marines. Anyone who pushes back gets a dishonorable discharge and probably heavy charges. It forces compliance and gets rid of any possible "problem" marines.

You're applying logic to an administration that just started bombing Iran because they could. I can respect that thinking, but up is down these days... Besides, there's also the fact that no marine coming out of boot camp right now joined before the Trump administration started. If you joined while he's president, you knew who you were going to have to take orders from. They are already loyal, there's no need to filter them at this point.

I hope. It leads me to wonder what effect it would have if there are no immigrants to arrest.

Oh, I'm sure they'll have no trouble finding people when there are no more immigrants to put in the concentration camps with the biohazard incinerators... > [According to the report, “services extend to ‘Medical Waste Management,’ with specific protocols for biohazard incinerators.”](https://www.commondreams.org/news/military-contract-concentration-camps)

They’re Marines so [they’ll protect ICE while their families get deported.](https://www.thedailybeast.com/fury-over-marines-protecting-ice-agents-on-la-immigration-raids/) Cowards protecting cowards.

I was just listening to a general on NPR talk about the cooling effect this administration will have on women and poc joining the military and to that I say thank f***. Our brothers and sisters do not need to be dying for a backwards ass country like the US that is doing paper checks on their own soldier’s families.

Who in the world would or could rationally think or argue that U.S. Marines are not qualified or competent to guard their own training camps and bases? Something Marines have done since 1776. Deploying ICE to terrorize new Marine recruits' family and friends at Parris Island drill camp graduation ceremonies is BEYOND EVIL. Doing so while deploying Marines in harm's way as cannon fodder to Trump & Friends self-serving war EXPONENTIALLY illustrates how THEY view and treat both veterans and minorities as disposable garbage. From 2024 to 2026, approximately 23% to 29% of active-duty Marines identified as Hispanic or Latino. Over time, this percentage has steadily increased. Hispanics/Latinos are the largest minority group represented in the USMC - and are the highest proportion of Hispanics/Latinos of all the US military branches. Their military contribution exceeds their overall US population contribution.

sending abuela to the gulag may not inspire the loyalty they are hoping for.

Root-magic Apr 1, 2026 +7
These marines are patriots who are willing to sacrifice their lives, why harass their families?

Zulmoka531 Apr 1, 2026 +6
Probably a joint effort between Hegseth and Miller. To what end? I don’t even know anymore.

exoriparian Apr 1, 2026 +4
They're consolidating the armed forces as another fascistic in-group.

Grotesque. It all is, but this grotesque in a way that will continue to shave off support for this asinine regime.

ICE being the little bitches they are on full display. How embarrassing.

Trump treats gardeners and roofers better than Marines. One of these groups will have their families deported and then be sent to die by our president.
14
windwatcher01 Mar 31, 2026 +7
I think he would gleefully send the gardeners and roofers off to fight his war if he could.
7
RoosterMedical Mar 31, 2026 +6
And then stiff them.
6
Jeansus_ Mar 31, 2026 +3
So they’re not going to arrest the families at the gates, they’ll just wait for them to get back to their hotel?
3
ENORMOUS_HORSECOCK Mar 31, 2026 +3
Good luck with that.

Ironically, as their children sign up to fight for freedom.
5
cheddar_bae Mar 31, 2026 +4
That is not what anyone is signing up for when they join the military.

America fights freedom

RustyPlastics Apr 1, 2026 +1
No US soldier fights for freedom. Absolute nonsense

That is what Republicans tell us when they pretend to care about the military.

I was just thinking this today having survived a R government, bluest possible state recruiting bid with my husband, I don't envy them or their families right now. Most of his office ended up divorced before it was over.

Nothing says ‘respect the troops’ like deporting their family and sending them to die in the Paedo Wars.

I believe it's Marines. Unless they're checking the status of some dolphins hanging out in the marina
