I often avoid using the tube during strikes, but not this kind…

Passive voice carrying a lot of water in this headline. How about "IDF threatens to murder Iranian commuters"

costabius 3 days ago +3
Imagine how much crying they would be doing if an Iranian military leader said, "Y'all should consider not riding the bus for a few weeks"

“Heads up civilians, don’t take trains because we are going to blow that shit up” how about just don’t do that?

No, train infrastructure is used by the military as well as civilians, so Israel is warning civilians to avoid it so that they won't hit civilians.
2
ElectronicPotato1993 4 days ago -2
No, they said don't use trains, as some train infra could be struck. Very different and very far from "attacking civilians"

? How would they bomb civilians if civilians aren't using the trains?

Everything Israel does is evil to these people. Israel could cure cancer and they'd say it's evil.

Trains are used to transport military equipment. They're fair game.
-106
InsensitiveClod76 4 days ago +55
Not passenger trains. And those doesn't transport military equipment when US already has "destroyed 100% of Iran’s military capability".
55
bradab 4 days ago -8
If the tracks are used for both and they hit those instead then it’s valid target. If they hit a passenger train, absolutely unjustifiable.

Why are you pretending the US cares about civilians dying? They're going to destroy everything on the big destroy Iran day.

The American government is being shits.

I don’t understand how anyone can dislike americans at this time. They may be cowards - terrified of protesting, but their billionaire handlers have very cool military gadgets.

Lagoon___Music 4 days ago -25
Are you implying that the Iranian government does care about civilians?
-25
bitknight1 4 days ago +16
You are right we should just do the same thing. Might as well go to Iran and r*** some girls since they do the same thing it's totally justifiable for US to r*** and kill their girls.

I don’t think he was.

CamRoth 3 days ago +3
Are you implying the US should be as bad as Iran?

Mitch_81 4 days ago +19
There is no "fair game" because this is an illegal war of aggression.
19
EkstraOst 3 days ago -2
Illegal by which court? We are back in the jungle at the behest of the orange one.
-2
HumanSnotMachine 4 days ago -13
By that logic no target is ever a fair target. Name a war where one side did not aggress the other? lol you people are goofy
-13
Kirarifluff 4 days ago +4
so you think its right to attack another country without a casus belli?
4
EkstraOst 3 days ago -5
i don’t think he said anything to that effect? It’s not about being morally justified anymore, it’s now about might is right. If you don’t like it, thank americans; those that voted orange, those who didn’t vote and those who let their country fall without logging off and protesting.

He was implying all wars are started from pure aggression. Theyre not. to be ”legal” they need a proper reason to happen, this does not. Theres no reason to f*** the entire world economy and kill lots of innocent people. The entire basis of this war is ”idiot felt like it”. Theres plenty of examples of empires crumbling after believing might is right. Plenty of examples of leaders and mad kings who made enough enemies to be taken out. This will end, as it has ended before. Humans are nuanced and we will return to a peaceful prosperous state again. No one wins at this pointless garbage wars. He can’t keep this region if he takes it, it will cost more than he could ever make from it. Thats generally why this shit with ruling with aggression never works in the long run. When people feel hopeless they revolt against their supressors. This I fully believe.

I hope you’re right. I fear peaceful times are the exception as history seems to show

Conflict is inevitable at the scale of world we have, but people are just people, we have a lot more in common than you might think. Because of that with some reason and understanding we are able to get along for the most part. This is just old people resisting the changes that have happened the past decade, combined with a downturn in economy. Its always a pendulum as generations try to define themselves and ”solve” the question of what is ”right”. But humans are in the end ruled by greed and fear, thats why destabilization and ”othering” is so powerful. Don’t be scared, keep your focus on what you can do, try to be good. Thats all you can do and all you need to do. Don’t let them make you lose hope. That’s how they rule you.

The passiveness of the american people - the brave and the free - is the nail in the coffin. Also I have 0 confidence that the left’ll avoid splintering when elections are coming like they always do. My fear is wellfounded, and we’ll be living the consequences of the american cowardice for a very long time. Even if Europe can navigate this shit without being carved up by russia with the us’ blessing, then we’ll despise you for quite some time unfortunately.

They weaponized greed and fear, I had a friend that was MAGA and he was poor, worked as a dishwasher, he fully believed the lies because he was tired of the life he lead, afraid it would never change, and thought this was the ticket out of it. I debunked him plenty of times but again, they spoke to his fears, his wish to get more and so he didn’t listen. it wasn’t passive but it was a sort of brainwashing really. I believe many were like him. They refused the bigger picture. It seems that Putin has some dirt on Trump and thats why this keeps happening. He plays into their hand constantly. But no one is powerless, and these guys can’t have long left before nature replaces them the natural way.

Trains, roads, bridges. Iran wants to play the economic harm game and idk if they’re going to win with their strait bullshit. I feel bad for the citizens of that country who have no say in this. Their entire gov can get fucked

Nobody is winning this giant global clusterfuck created by Trump and Netanyahu.

HumanSnotMachine 4 days ago -6
Actually the same people who always win in war are winning pretty f****** hard right now. The citizens are not of course but when are they are the primary focus of the people in power? :P

We really need a Hunger Games with world leaders and influencial politicians as the contestants. They can fight their own f****** battles.

Pretty funny princess bride sketch. I’d just not ride the train though. It’s not like the other option has the possibility of death like in the movie. You have pointed out how difficult it is to determine intentions vs disinformation. I’m guessing they are going to strike the tracks though and use the civilian warning as part of a defense against accusations of civilian infrastructure being a war crime. Claim dual use, point to evidence of trying to avoid civilian casualties as a defense against accusations of violations of international law. Who am I kidding though? They won’t face consequences for this because the backlog would take decades to prosecute before this one gets brought to court, if any of this is ever even pursued.
