Even if you survive the blast you're doomed to suffer from the resulting environmental effects.

This would be my thinking, so i wonder what you could do to outlast these or counteract them. Like how realistic is a Fallout style vault (without the social experiment)? Or would a underwater solution work? Apparently the billionaires have bought shelters on new zealand, is that far enough? And is there any other locations remote enough they would avoid danger?

There are plenty of fallout shelters that can survive a blast. But they do not have the technology to produce non irradiated crops/water. They too would eventually die. Why do you think the Epstein class are so adamant about colonising mars

It always felt like a small contigent believeing in earth 2.0: the red edition, but fair enough

Thiel, musk, Zuckerberg, bezos. The four horseman of the techpocolyps

This is what I'm afraid of, and that would probably be a fate worse than death.

Wouldn’t be so bad. Modern thermonuclear weapons don’t create much fallout. Environmental effects would be minimal within a very short timeframe of the war.

I’d buy a very large fridge

Call me Doctor Jones

bittermelonpizza00 Apr 1, 2026 +1
I would simply not let the nukes kill me
1
Jestersfriend Apr 1, 2026 +1
This is the correct answer. If you say no, it legally is not allowed to kill you.

Learned this in first grade. Just get under your desk and cover your head with your arms.
1
luciddough Apr 1, 2026 +1
Should have built the fallout shelter out of all those grade school desks

questingquietly Apr 1, 2026 +1
impossible for me lol. im in a wheelchair
1
luciddough Apr 1, 2026 +1
Rough - if i ever build a shelter im installing a lift and ramps
1
Rebecca_Doodles Apr 1, 2026 +1
Simple. You don’t.

Fluffyman2715 Apr 1, 2026 +1
This is the real answer. Even with a bunker and supplies you will be living a life alone until you die of old age, lack of medical supplies or fresh water. The reality of being alone in a bunker for years on end will send the average human insane.

I don’t want to survive a nuclear war. I hope I’m standing exactly where the first warhead strikes.

yeah I'm on the ND/MN border...I'm on the first volley over.

I kinda want to see if I will be able to live through it

Used-Revolution-3136 Apr 1, 2026 +1
I wouldn't want to. Place me at ground zero please.

Hopefully we will be vaporized quickly.

Maximum_Slide_4609 Apr 1, 2026 +1
just gotta have a good stash of supplies and a solid plan for shelter. honestly, avoiding urban areas is probably your best bet.

obviously holding my breath in the bathtub

egodrunk Apr 1, 2026 +1
Is this a stranger things reference? I literally just watched the episode where the mom and daughter are holding their breath in the bathtub to hide from the demigorgon

I live in a part of Florida that has no military infrastructure or a high population, so I'm probsbly safe for the start. The winds on the other hand will carry over a ton of fallout and that'll probably kill me. So either way doesn't matter I guess.

RandomGuyOnline115 Apr 1, 2026 +1
Leaving society and going into the wilderness. Deep inside a cave probably.

ABA20011 Apr 1, 2026 +1
If you were on a boat in the middle of the ocean you might have a chance, unless the nukes unleashed tidal waves. Space shuttle maybe? But then there is the whole planet of the apes thing. I’m probably going to just bask in the glow.

We will all glow in the Light of the Atom

bruhhhlikewhut Apr 1, 2026 +1
I live too close to dc not to be directly affected by it so I’d simply perish
1
PirateSanta_1 Apr 1, 2026 +1
F*** that, i'm going to be suntanning wherever its brightest. You all can enjoy the radiation sickness, mass starvation and total breakdown of society.
1
Immediate_Cod_3042 Apr 1, 2026 +1
If I'm dead, everyone else has been dead for weeks. By default I survived
1
Paul-McS Apr 1, 2026 +1
Going to roof with a bottle of whiskey and listening to David Bowie.  I’m not the surviving type in that scenario.
1
Candid-Bite-4745 Apr 1, 2026 +1
Depending on how close I was to the blast, I may not want to survive.
1
Time-Industry-1364 Apr 1, 2026 +1
Just chill underground with the family and homies.. enjoy what time we've got left before we run out of food and water lol

Harness my inner Max Rockatansky and go balls to the wall.
1
SuccessfulOil1587 Apr 1, 2026 +1
Welp, I live by WPAFB. They would def target that as it’s a critical airforce base for the us military. That being said if I survived the blast I would be wanting to know where the sit is, which way the wind is blowing. Depending on if you have radiation coming your way dictates the plan.
1
NewToTradingStock Apr 1, 2026 +1
I rather die in the blast, than suffer the aftermath for 10 yrs and die

thiscouldbemassive Apr 1, 2026 +1
As the ole nuclear holocaust saying goes: "The big lie is that the survivors are the lucky ones."
1
m0h3k4n Apr 1, 2026 +1
I most definitely would not with where I live my whole state will be a glowing pool of plasma.
1
Least_Chip2610 Apr 1, 2026 +1
I wouldn’t. I would get as close to the blast as possible
1
Hellebore_Leigh Apr 1, 2026 +1
I couldn’t. If we reach nuclear apocalypse levels, my plan is simply to pass away. I hope the shadow imprint I leave behind looks like I was doing something cool.
1
Persimmon-Mission Apr 1, 2026 +1
You don’t want to survive the blast. Run towards it.
1
MrEngin33r Apr 1, 2026 +1
By being far far away.

The ultimate in nuclear deterrents
1
joethahobo Apr 1, 2026 +1
We need to stop being afraid of nukes. UAPs have repeatedly shut down nuclear missiles across the world. They let us use 2 back in the 40’s to see if we would learn. We did not. Ever since they have been over every nuclear facility and nuclear missile silo. Not just in America but Russia and China too. I am not worried about nuclear war because I know these craft will shut that shit down the moment we launch
