If you are missing The Graham Norton show, check out The Claudia Winkleman Show, a new chat show in the UK. It's similar, but a bit more casual. I really enjoyed it. This episode has Lisa Kudrow, Jamie Dornan, Chase Infiniti and Jimmy Carr as guests.

I *love* Claudia, but I thought the first episode was pretty bad 😢. Second was pretty good though (Guz was hilarious) and I haven't seen ep 3 yet but I'm hoping for a continued upward trajectory!

I agree the first episode was the weakest, which is pretty typical for a new show, but I still personally enjoyed it. I was just pleasantly surprised by the show in general. Graham's the gold standard, but it's nice to have another similar type of show popping up.

I think I am getting too old. I can't stand celebrities anymore. Most of them are as deep as a puddle.

What do you want them to talk about exactly? They can't talk about politics or any real issues or they risk alienating anyone. They shouldn't be airing out their personal lives in public. So they can either tell you funny stories or they can tell you about some things they like.

More casual? The guests are often slightly drunk on Norton's show.

Check it out and see for yourself. I think it feels more casual because they go on more random conversational tangents. Graham's show is a little more structured, plus he has to fit in a musical guest so the chat has to stay on track time-wise.

They've both felt the same level of structured to me, they have to hit certain beats with each guest since they're there to promote something. It's not like Graham has the same runtime so they have to talk less to accommodate the performances, Claudia's shorter because she doesn't have any so it balances out. TCWS did feel a bit more intimate though, maybe it was a smaller studio or something so the guests didn't feel the need to be as 'on' and were more relaxed in general.

I wonder what’s behind her fringe ?

All the episodes are up on youtube, and I enjoyed all of them, but I don't think most people on listnook have heard of it yet since it's a new show. I adore Graham Norton, but he's only on TV for like half the year. I think this show will be an excellent addition if you like this style of chat show.

Just off until later this year. BBC renewed it back in October for season 34, 35, and 36. He used to have two seasons a year with only a month or so in between... but after COVID, it's down to one running from September-February.

More casual?

Nice recommendation. Wake me up when it's available in Canada; it's meaningless until then.
