If you could go back and relive one year from your past, which year would you choose?

2012, i was 9 so it’s kinda lame that that’s my answer but imma be honest that was my peak so far lol. haven’t been happier than then since. just endless summer and curiosity and excitement not writing off a return to being happier than that, just being real tho

The year I was 17, when the woman of my dreams French kissed me out of the blue. For some reason, after months of dating, she ghosted me. I would go back in time and not let her ghost me because she was truly fantastic in every possible way. The future with her would have been amazing. What happened instead was a dramatic tragedy.

A year where life felt simple and less rushed, before responsibilities started stacking up.

Either the year in college where I worked at a popular theme park that I loved working at and spent a lot of my free time at... ... or a year soon after I found my soul cat. I recently lost him, but I miss him so much. I would get to spend another year with him and be back in the place I once lived at that I loved (but had to move away from to help care for elderly parent).

The year I decided to quit my office job and become a teacher as I finished my degree. Dumbest decision ever.

You don't like being a teacher? Or did something else happen?

2009 peak chaos, zero responsibilities, and somehow every day felt like a sitcom episode I didn’t know I was starring in.

Were your neighbors a theoretical physicist and an  experimental physicist?

2015, so I can see my sister healthy and happy and alive, and so I’d be in my peak physical shape and competing for a spot in Sochi.

The first year of my life. I’d like to have concious memory of my mom before she died when I was 5mo.

Really the past 4 months have been great. I'd choose them 3 times.

I’ve done some fucked up things in my past. But I wouldn’t even change those moments. I’d pick a time where all of my grandparents were alive. Just to hang out with them again. I really regret not cooking some bbq for them. I was a young man when they passed. But I didn’t cook at the level that I do now.

In 2010, I was born in 2000. If I could go back, I would choose 2010, my middle school year. I could start everything over, meet old friends I can't see anymore. Many beautiful memories are left behind in middle school; now they're just memories.

Late 2024 to 2025. I was pregnant and I would have gotten good help a lot sooner or advocated differently for my mental health. I missed out on a lot of joy.

I am gonna go back to my freshman year of college. I met my best friend, and had a tight friend group. We did everything together.

1987, age 24/25. While living and working in SF, auditioned for and got a job with a NYC dance company, one month later moved to NY, a month after that was touring Europe, and six months after performed at City Center. It was a good year.

2014. I would be more upfront with the girl I liked, and I would stand up for myself and fight back the person that bullied me constantly.

1984. To quote an old country song, "when everything I wanted was out there waiting, and everyone I loved was still alive."

1999 - (music of the year ATB, 9PM), summer seemed to last for eternity, I had no responsibilities, no problems, no one depending on me, and no expectations, I've spent all of the years between then and now hunting for whatever feeling that was, and I haven't managed it yet, maybe I never will again - if I can't find it, then I will be happy I once had it, but such an existence isn't something you get to keep, and actually living in it long term probably isn't healthy No one tells you you're living in your best time whilst you're there, you only realise it slowly many years later when it's already long gone.

June 2023 to June 2024 if we're going by a strict 12 month thing. I had fully established a nice little life for myself. I was comfortable living away from home, I had a couple of solid friend groups (1 irl and 1 online). I met a new friend in June of 2023 and the friendship until very recently was just all vibes. The only thing that sucked was my job at the time. It was the closest I've felt to being truly happy in a very long time, but now that's almost all fallen apart
