I loved my Wii U & wouldn’t have upgraded if it weren’t for wanting to play totk.

I also have a Wii U and I love. I think some people have a negative view because they may have other perspectives, but it still fun to play

Why don't you buy a steam deck and emulate it , I've never touched anything Nintendo so I'm genuinely curious

There are a lot of features of the system that are difficult to emulate. The Wii U was like a home console DS in a way, the gamepad had a gyro sensor, webcam, NFC reader for amiibo, mic, and a touch screen, you could also use Wii remotes as controllers for some games. Very often the second screen was only used as a map, inventory, or menu, but some games properly utilized all of the features. Also Steam Decks are currently out of stock and over 2X the cost of a used Wii U.

Honestly the Wii U was ahead of its time, it really just suffered from that awful marketing. People just love to hate on Nintendo consoles until they become retro classics lol.

Mario Maker is great on it! Though I think the online component is gone, you can still have fun making levels!

The official servers have been shut down, but there are homebrew fan made ones you can utilize.

I had one. It was ok. Needing the tablet even for basic things like navigating the system menu was awkward. The mii verse was cute and fun when it was up and running. I understand it's a great system to jailbreak nowadays. Can run gamecube roms natively. The 2 screens are great for ds emulation.

It gets hate cause it seemed like even Nintendo didn’t know what they were doing, I say get it if you’re a collector, but if you can emulate or go without then it’s easier, me personally didn’t mind it but it was never worth getting, and this isn’t hating cause ima huge fanboy lol
