BSF Floats Controversial Snake and Crocodile Idea for Bangladesh Border Policing
The communication was reportedly in line with Union home minister Amit Shah’s direction to achieve ‘operational’ successes along the border. Introducing dangerous wildlife would risk entire local populations and make land and rivers unviable for economic activities.

🤦‍♂️ This is exhibiting the "brain power" of Trump's ideas... Oh wait, this was exactly one of Trump's ideas for his border wall: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/01/us/politics/trump-border-wars.html https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-moat-alligators-snakes-border-spikes-shooting-migrants-151813914.html

how are you going to keep the snakes and crocodiles in their designated areas?
99
Wise_Mongoose_3930 3 days ago +153
You have a second area full of mongooses to keep the snakes in the first area
153
BeatsRocks 3 days ago +58
How are you going to keep mongooses in designated area?
58
Comprehensive-Ear283 3 days ago +78
Obviously, you have another level of hyenas to keep the mongoose in their area.
78
cvele89 3 days ago +19
Eventually, there is going to be a level of humans pointing guns at the level in front, making sure nothing goes where it should not, basically the same thing they are doing now.
19
Comprehensive-Ear283 3 days ago +14
But, with added layers. Like an onion.

Plants, repellants, and incorporating as much snake-proof or at least sssssnake-frussssstrating environmental geometry as possible and then using manmade obstacles as stopgaps. So basically the same ways anybody who planned ahead would use to *defeat* the effectiveness of The Masala Maginot if tunneling, drone-borne poison, wearing a mongoose fursuit, slowly crossing inside a fake rock or tree, or any other cockamamie yet so-crazy-they-might-just-work methods are out of the question. Alternately an infililtrator could just not give a f*** (if they never did and never will, that's even better) and just do a flat-out sprint across The Serpentine Belt like it ain't no thang. Obviously the latter is riskier (there's a "snakes and latters" joke in her somewhere) but it requires less goofy slapstick, and I'm not even sure if Acme Corp. even continued selling complicated-scheme supplies in that part of the world after their Chemical Plant Safety division went t***-up in the 80s.

Because many areas in the borders have very thick vegetation.

Is this any different to mining the area for all intent and purposes?
2
[deleted] 3 days ago +4
Ok, but it would be better to build a better fence or a wall.
4
TheeLieLama 3 days ago +37
India's borders are not in plain areas. They cut across rivers, mountains and a whole host of geographies like swamp and mangroves. Hence, it is not possible to fence or construct walls. Also there are areas which get so heavy snowfall that the fences are drowned below the snow level.
37
Comprehensive-Ear283 3 days ago +8
Not only this, but we’ve seen around the world with different borders that fences and walls alone are not very secure on their own.
8
InsensitiveClod76 3 days ago +3
Will the snakes and crocodiles be able to operate in heavy snow?

This is utterly frightful. They can't rely on the BSF . Obviously ,the BSF guy gets to build a 3-storey house in his village in due course. But, so what if there are undocumented migrants ? In the chicken's neck area, u have Bongaigaon Refinery . The employees get their domestic servants , cross-,,border from Mymensingh Distt of B:desh. If these middle-class Johnnies in Mumbai & Delhi feel so strongly, let them go & become domestic servants there .Bongaigaon Refinery personnel certainly do not wish for snakes & crocodiles in their backyard. These are just naam-ke-vaaste tropes of the saffron crowd to pretend that they don't know the reality and that they have answers .

Bangladesh man , mfers infiltrate , gets caught in molestation , harassment , stealing cases , then cops finds out they dont even have a official ID with them. Also they are being smartly used in one of the state with illegal voting by one party which is ruling for decades . More than Govt people want them to gtfo.

Tens of millions of Nepalis and Bangladeshis come and work here. I think you either under-estimate how bad things are in other countries or you think India is the worst place which is objectively not true.
