Reminds me of that scene in the movie Lord of War where they're frantically changing the flag and name of a ship smuggling illegal arms before being boarded by federal agents.

Spoofing maritime AIS is child’s play for most freighters these days. But true enough.

India is also holding off on US trade deal for a few months; [https://www.reuters.com/world/india/india-hold-off-us-trade-deal-amid-new-probe-sources-say-2026-03-13/](https://www.reuters.com/world/india/india-hold-off-us-trade-deal-amid-new-probe-sources-say-2026-03-13/)

That's because the US supreme Court decision. It has nothing to do with this war. When this verdict came out the next day Indian bureaucrats were supposed to reach US for further negotiations but they cancelled it immediately. That was way before the war started. So it has nothing to do with this war.

I guess this is probably just for PR with India, it weakens the blockade a bit but doing an exception for India will probably improve relations, even if little

I'm gonna guess you guessed wrong. They're strong allies. Iran is also not targeting Chinese ships

How is it just PR for India when India gets 40% of its energy supplies from the Hormuz. It's a diplomatic win for India to be able to keep its energy moving in such difficult situation. Not just PR win.

Why don't you go to JNPT or Mundra to check if those oil vessels have arrived or not?
You can check the position of the vessels. They have already docked in India.

Kind of a win for the US, that will alleviate the oil situation some

No, that's a loss for the US, a win would be even more instability causing prices to soar even higher so the US can make more money with their own oil exports

Nah that's a win for oil companies but that's not what the US govt is after.
