The ME crisis has taken a significant toll on the IMEC, it seems only India and UAE are fulfilling their roles steadily, well Greece to an extent too

how ironic that just yesterday this b****** was appealing to the people to not buy gold for one year and also save on fuel costs while he now started a global tour, what shame to run away from your own country after fking the entire stock markets with hardly a few words.
The only thing this moron did in his third term is visiting a bunch of temples everyday.
I feel like his primary focus in this term of his power has mostly been the wins for his party in different states rather than being at the helm of a country in its difficult period.

call me a braindead, but I don't remember the last time a prime minister asked me to not buy gold for one year and use less cooking oil so that we can protect the forex.
Also I don't remember the last time the external affairs policy was such of a govt that they do resort to large imports to establish good diplomatic relations (in the defense sector). And in exchange export "labours"
I don't remember the last time the govt had started mixing ethanol in my fuel to reduce oil imports (rip my bike for the sake of cian agro).
I don't remember the last time a prime minister came on a national television to announce that the parliament has not passed women reservation bill and blame the opposition.
I don't remember the last time a prime minister that would participate in state election in such a robust way that he would roam in nearby cites and even states while the elections were literally being held.
though with all that I think from now onwards I would likely reduce my cooking oil usage so that the my dear govt could continue their javelin atgm and sig 716 imports (part of the larger picture), and after all I also have to support the $45+B rafale import, gaand mardo forex ki, phir bolo rupee q devalue ho rahi hai

P chidambaram and Manmohan singh also told the public to buy less gold. Go check it. Nehru went even further to ask for a gold donation from the public.

In that case, I'm glad the youth of India are waking up. I personally find it revolting that the middle class are being asked to make key sacrifices for the sake of the INR while the rich continue to buy and drive their German made autos.

UPA government appealed to people to reduce gold imports. P Chidambaram famously said don’t buy gold for a year and we can improve our Current Account Deficit.

"a representative of a country visiting other countries which tends to create billions in trade and diplomatic strengthening is the equivalent of ppl going on vacations" is in fact a pretty brain dead take.
90% of indias oil is imported. the iran war is spiking the costs significantly. a lot of south East Asian countries are panicking as well since most of Asias oil comes thru the hormuz strait

sure I am one, a lot of you folks really need to get out of that copium consumption
EDIT: I believe that with the current discussions around political scenario in India, criticizing a govt. in power makes other feel that I'm keen on the opposition parties, though I must confer that it isn't like that, my comment only criticizes the current govt. on economic affairs, I don't want to make the reader feel that I'm rooting for a particular party

1.) Let's assume a Rafale has life of 15 years (very conservative). How much does it cost amortized? -> 3b$. Gold import bill was 72B$ last year. That is 9% of our bill and second to crude oil. also ,Rafales are not a luxury.
2.) We have not had a oil price hike in 4 years, you know why? -> Ethanol mixing. Systematic step to reduce dependence on crude, albeit temporary until the maturation of EV ecosystem. Systematic steps are bad, appeals are bad. God knows what do you want.
3.) Every PM except Manmohan Singh and even in his cabinet every minister did this. This dual use of public office is not sui generis. Holding the politicians to the "Chanakya" standard is valid but facetious when you care about the effects his words would have on stock market. At least he is not a puppet of stock market like many leaders around the world.
4.) Similar to 3.) your overton window for Modi is so "radical" or even "unthinkable" you will find a way to criticize him. All PMs did but we have seen only 1 guy and we don't study. Leave our own country, UK's labour party was asking for Starmer's resignation to win in local elections.
P.S. Stop living in LaLa land.

I agree on some , disagree on some
Previous govts have asked us to not buy gold like chidambaram and many in past too as almost all of gold are imported.
Agree on that why he is roaming around in state elections, there must be a rule that central leaders should be banned from doing such rallies once they on chair.
Ethanol was another sus thing going on..... Must be questioned and stopped asap....
Agree on vegetable oil usage..... First work on FSSAI then ask us what to eat or not
Defense that's another topic but too broad one yk..... In short in favor of javelin, sig and rafael are debatable

>can't remember the last time
You got memory loss or are too young to remember?
UPA government's P Chidambaram asked Indians not to buy gold, closed petrol pumps at 8 pm to save fuel. Without there being any war.
This is why we support BJP, they've brought the biggest change in Indians, a change in mentality. You grew up in a stable and competent era of governance.

Friendly advice don't bring the Indian sub conversations to international subs, it's fine to put comments like these in the Indian meme subs and so on because everyone there is on the same level as you. But doing it here will just expose how idiotic and dumb those subs are
