Let's just say the FIFA Peace Prize committee is not impressed with how things are going.

The price will of course be awarded to Trump on a yearly basis. Please understand that to end a conflict and create peace, you first need a current conflict and thereby a valid reason to award it!

I am so curious to see if there will actually be another FIFA peace prize in December. Perhaps they can give it to Putin?
1
Bruvvimir 9 hr ago +1
It will clearly be Bibi.

ScrotumScrapings 8 hr ago +1
Ah yes, he brings the peace of the grave (except when he bombs funerals, of course)

Everyone wants to talk at their own terms only. Nobody is willing to take a step back

Exactly. There are no negotiations. Negotiating by definition requires both sides to concede certain demands. This is just two countries continously stating their demands to each other and neither really giving a f*** about what the other one is saying

This is kind of the issue with wars these days. Due to nuclear weapons we've entered an era of "forever wars" where countries that have nuclear weapons like USA, Russia, and Israel cannot be effectively attacked due to the implication that the weapons will be used as a last resort. On the other hand we have also entered the era of no land swaps, basically it's become unacceptable for a country to give up any piece of land for peace. It used to be that two countries enter a war, one gets crushed, then they sign a peace treaty when the w***** gets land or something of value, and the so called loser gets the benefit of protecting it's civilians from harm. For some reason, land has become more important than protecting civilians. Then also there is the issue of drones which let's countries continue "fighting" with basically no manpower, again prolonging conflicts. And finally we have countries run by fundamentalism Islam where by religious design they have been indoctrinated into believing a promised afterlife, to the point where "martyrdom" and endless conflict without the possibility of surrender is encouraged. These wars just don't have the offramps like in years past.

Uh-huh… we also live in a world with the United States of America which goes around bombing countries and killing people when something they don’t like happens.

TinyInformation3564 9 hr ago +1
The Trump administration in two years has bombed Nigeria, Somalia, Iran, Yemen, Venezuela, fishing boats, they are currently threatening and blockading Cuba, they have threatened Greenland. And then People on Listnook act like we are Chinese bots because we don't like the US.

PaulInGalatia 9 hr ago +1
Nah man only brown people can be bad. The United States is the most violent country in all of history but it’s the brown people’s fault for getting mad about it, duh! I love Israel btw

Nah the trump is a bag of dicks, but lets also not pretend that iran is the victim here. Theyve been funding terrorism all over the middle east, and have been terrorizing several countries already.

Worsty2704 8 hr ago +1
Add threatening the Pope to that list.
1
Own_Pop_9711 8 hr ago +1
This is a very ahistorical take on wars that's driven almost entirely by the last.... Two months?

Sojungunddochsoalt 8 hr ago +1
> For some reason, land has become more important than protecting civilians. You could always make more of those
1
Telcontar77 8 hr ago +1
Except, the only reason these negotiations even started was because Trump lied about the Iranian plan being an acceptable baseline for negotiations. Except for the fact that the US has twice bombed Iran during negotiations where they had been willing to make major concessions.

planetarybum 10 hr ago +19
It seems like ~~both~~ all three sides aren't prepared to change their stance and we are stuck in an infinite loop.
19
Sxualhrssmntpanda 8 hr ago +1
Yeah I think Iran changing their stance on wanting to exist is unlikely. How very unreasonable of them.
1
No-Space937 8 hr ago +1
*Iranian Regime. Iran would very much still exist.
1
Sxualhrssmntpanda 8 hr ago +1
Ah well thats ok then. I suppose if the US got leveled that would not bother you, either? The land would still be there, right?
1
No-Space937 8 hr ago +1
Iran's stance is they don't want to give up enrichment, their proxy network or make concessions to their ballistic missile program. None of these things are necessary for Iran as a country to operate.  They are however necessary  for the Regime to stay in power as making concessions would show the weakness of the regime, and fear and illusion of power and control are how these people stay in power. Also the vast majority of the current targets hit have been military in nature, I don't know why you trying to make this out as if the country has been leveled.
1
Sxualhrssmntpanda 8 hr ago +1
Ah well, and that's clearly up to the U.S. World Police to go stick their nose in and put a stop to, then. They need to stick to international laws about nuclear enrichment and weapons inspections just like Israël, right?
1
No-Space937 8 hr ago +1
Im not here to justify the war, I don't agree with it.  Im just here to point out that your initial assessment that negotiations from the point of the Iranians is pointless because it would mean their country stops existing, is well... f****** stupid.
1
PShelley 8 hr ago +1
You understand that most Iranians also want the IRCG to not exist, right?
1
FieldMouseMedic 7 hr ago +1
Hmmm, I must’ve missed the negotiation meeting where the US said, “the terms to the ceasefire are that Iran will cease to exist.” I thought they were stuck on other issues, like nuclear enrichment and control over the straight of Hormuz, but I must have been wrong.

[The AP news agency reports](https://uk.news.yahoo.com/iran-fires-container-ship-strait-053913137.html?ncid=listnooknewsus) \- Iran opened fire on a container ship Wednesday in the Strait of Hormuz, underscoring the danger to commercial vessels in a waterway crucial to global energy supplies as plans for ceasefire talks between Tehran and the United States in Islamabad faltered. The morning assault by Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard came after U.S. President Donald Trump indefinitely extended the ceasefire with Iran due to expire within hours, giving Tehran time to come up with a “unified proposal” ahead of possible negotiations. A second ship came under fire in the strait a short time later with no reported damage, according to the British military’s United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations Center. The maritime monitoring center did not immediately identify who fired on the second vessel, but suspicion immediately fell on Iran, whose leaders appear poised to drive a harder bargain with American negotiators this time after two other rounds of talks with the Trump administration ended in open warfare.

Update - [AP is now reporting ](https://uk.news.yahoo.com/iran-fires-container-ship-strait-053913137.html?ncid=listnooknewsus)that the two ships were attacked by Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard and are now in the force’s custody and being taken to Iran, Iranian state television reported. It identified the vessels as the MSC Francesca and the Epaminodes. The ship’s owners could not be immediately reached for comment. The seizures represent an escalation after the U.S. earlier seized two Iranian vessels as ceasefire talks were due to take place in Islamabad.

Diplomatic talks doesn't work on terrorists.

NoVax-Djocovid 10 hr ago +27
IRGC are terrorists are we really surprised
27
Dark_World_Blues 10 hr ago +16
Unfortunately, many people believe that IRGC aren't terrorists.
16
Mindless-Peak-1687 9 hr ago +5
its a meaningless distinction in this case. In Iran they are legit regardless of what we or others think.
5
terragutti 8 hr ago +1
So its either theyre a state that sanctions terrorist attacks on other countries for decades or theyre a terror state. Wish more people would get that into their heads
1
TinyInformation3564 9 hr ago +5
Why would they be diplomatic, when the last time they tried to be diplomatic they were bombed, and then bombed again while still negotiating and having all their leaders killed.
5
Dark_World_Blues 9 hr ago +1
Maybe because the negotiations were going nowhere. Maybe the fact that IRGC enriched uranium to 60% and have refused inspections from worldwide orgranisation and said "take our word, we will dilute it without the need for further inspection" along with their "death to America" and "death to Israel" and supporting other terrorists groups attacking other countries and pretending like IRGC has nothing to do with it might have influenced the attack from Israel and USA.
1
TinyInformation3564 9 hr ago +1
The same uranium Trump obliterated six months back. The US is also supporting terrorists and Israel, who have by the way just flattened an entire City of 2 million, should the US government also be bombed in a surprise attack?
1
DynamicFactotum 9 hr ago +1
Hey strawman, no one is defending Israel or the US this post is about Iran attacking vessels and hold mix of the worlds oil supply hostage.
1
HighOnGoofballs 8 hr ago +1
They had a treaty allowing it to be inspected but Trump tore it up
1
DynamicFactotum 9 hr ago +1
Yeah. I mean they only fund terrorists groups across the ME and slaughter their own people regularly. Why can’t we just left them alone ffs.

Also doesn’t work when you deliberately assassinate their religious leader and head of state in a surprise attack hours after negotiations Really weird that a superpower has to stoop to that level

The American People and the government they form *of their people* and the representatives they empower with their taxes. Edit: what's this? Denying that Trump is America's fault or America's responsibility? He's something bad that other people did to you? Well how do you think the rest of the world feels?

Does IRGC want to get blown to smithereens? If they break the ceasefire, it's on them.

They don't seem too bothered to be honest

The IRGC are radical b*st*rds. They want the US to surrender. There is no chance of a deal.

This is why felon trumps move was so idiotic. By imposing a blocade, he is essentially putting further blame on the US. Could have been open without issue but trump decided to go further. Of course none of this would have been an issue if bot for a felon and a wanted criminal.
-3
Own_Pop_9711 8 hr ago +1
Iran didn't open the strait when the ceasefire started though.

Mindless-Peak-1687 9 hr ago -2
it's not... Sone assholes set a new presedent on how things work.

Israel bombing Lebanon and taking their land did nor break the ceasefire. Ok guys

I can actually empathize with the IRG at this point given how intolerable Trump is masquerading as a leader of the free world.
