> Iran issued its own plan via state TV, which includes a halt to killings of its officials, means to make sure no other war is waged against it, reparations for the war, the end of hostilities and Iran's sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz. > "No negotiations have happened with the enemy until now, and we do not plan on any negotiations," Iran's foreign minister later told state TV.

The "until now" bit covers your question.

Not really. They say they weren't negotiating and have now put out a counterproposal that the US can accept or not. They're saying there won't be any negotiating. Take it or leave it.

They’ve made an offer and will not negotiate the terms further.

I think they meant "up to now." You're right that it's unreadable as-is. Edit: not that that's a good wording either obviously, but it's a closer option than "as of now"

Making counter demands into the ether of international social media is not the same as traditional negotiations

They are not. Trump is just sending notes to Pakistan.

Reading comprehension is very fundamental.

They get stuff submitted to them from TACO. Iran's demands pre-ceasefire have been exactly the same for at least a week that I know of...

Other countries telling the US and Iran telling 3rd parties their positions might be considered negotiating but it's not direct talks.  Iran as far as I know hasn't changed their position in the least. They said these are our demands... while the US has been talking out their ass.

Trump lied to prevent the stock market from collapsing,

His lies can't keep it from collapsing, they're only there to let his cronies cash in on some insider trading before he gets fact checked.

Or they've been talking to some other people who tricked them into thinking they were talking to Iranian leaders.

All the people who said Biden have dementia are totally cool with Trump having imaginary conversations with another country that gives him elaborate gifts

It's going to be impossible to reach a deal, because Iran is going to want reparations for the illegal war that is being waged against them. That's the problem with everything that is going on here: From the perspective of international law, they didn't start the war, and the war wasn't started legally. So, the US is not in a position to extract demands from them. The only agreement that Iran is going to accept is basically "The US leaving and agreeing to pay for all of the damage they caused." Obviously the financial damage caused by the US and Israeli attacks is immense, so they're not going to agree. Then, their perspective is that they're allowed to engage in this war, because of their religion.

How much is the president worth? Give them that.

FartyJizzums Mar 25, 2026 +16
Or, just hear me out, give them the president.

And they have the world over the barrel with the Hormuz strait.

I'd say they could start getting reparations by charging 'unfriendly' tankers $2BN per .. That would fix everything: Strait would be 100% OPEN for business - Yankees can go on home

US agreeing to leave and paying for all the damage is the end result we will have when the next president takes seat so might as well get started now.

I'm not a genius like the US President so can someone explain to me how he won but the enemy are offering him terms?

EggStriking9712 Mar 25, 2026 +3
The enemy came to him with tears in their eyes offering big beautiful terms.

"Mr. President, Sir" they said .. they wanted a deal SO BADLY ....

So, piss off and fix what you broke. Sounds as good as its going to get.

troyak01 Mar 25, 2026 +4
How much would the reparations be for a school full of children?

Basic_Yam_715 Mar 26, 2026 +3
Shart of the deal... How could anyone think this guy could negotiate on a world stage?

Playswithchipmunks Mar 26, 2026 +1
I literally am so confused as to what's going on with this.

CzPhantom1 Mar 26, 2026 +1
So basically nothing is going to happen. The US can't turn over Oman and UAEs sovereignty and war reparations have never worked. I guess the US just leaves and says screw you guys, I'm going home. After causing worldwide turmoil for a month.
