They want to negotiate with diplomacy master James Dolan “have you said thank you” Vance instead of Witkoff and Kushner. How fucked up were their meetings pre war?

RimboTheRebbiter Mar 24, 2026 +3020
I mean from what we've been able to ascertain, really really bad. Twice now Kushner and Witkoff have been in negotiations with Iran, and in both instances the Trump admin and/or Israel used those negotiations to get senior Iranian officials together for assassination strikes. Further compounding this, the Iranians claim (and fwiw I think that they're telling the truth about this) that Witkoff and Kushner both lacked any knowledge of nuclear technology and were not able to properly understand what concessions Iran was offering. I assume that Iran wants to force buy in to a peace deal from the larger US state establishment, and is using JD Vance as a means to access that group.

Catymandoo Mar 24, 2026 +1762
Jake Sullivan as Guest on The Daily show said similar; that the Iranians had an offer on the table prior to the war but the Trump admin didn’t know how to deal with the information. So ultimately Trump decided to blitzkrieg Iran. I have a feeling (non Trump type) that wanting Vance might be a master stroke for Iran. Mainly because it means Vance somehow has to buy into the war to negotiate. Thus he has to drop his “duck and hide” routine about his non-position on the war. Time will tell.

SuchBravado Mar 24, 2026 +807
I wonder if they’re thinking “this will really f*** the Americans up” or “we need to talk to someone who wants this war to end” or “Jared Kushner is Mossad, what the f*** are these Americans playing at here?!”
807
dr_badhat Mar 24, 2026 +312
I still don’t know how there’s anyone ok with Kushner doing the negotiations for this.

dathislayer Mar 24, 2026 +244
Nobody is except the cult. But it’s apathy that got us here, so we’ll see if people care enough to vote. Dude never even passed his security clearances, lied multiple times on the application, and has only deepened his conflicts of interest since. It’s just so ridiculous that in FOUR YEARS the DOJ never managed to do anything to punish these people after his first term.

nutritionvegan Mar 25, 2026 +127
Thanks Merrick Garland
127
reverendcat Mar 25, 2026 +105
That was the real master stroke by Mitch McConnell. Reject the center right judge, and in doing so, sucker the democrats into championing him. Then Garland became this liberal cause, and some people were even excited to get him as AG. Then he did jack shit to hold anyone accountable and the Dems were generally fine with that. Now we are in this moment here. It’s all so maddening.

billbuild Mar 25, 2026 +18
This gives the chaos monkey too much credit. He was just throwing wrenches.
18
Oleg101 Mar 25, 2026 +24
And thanks to the voters. I’m not saying it was a lock that “Trump would have been punished” but Jack Smith had all the receipts and would have at the very least gotten chance to see through the two indictments. He also really got fucked when Aileen Cannon got assigned to the documents case.

JPM3344 Mar 24, 2026 +532
Or, we know trump is on the way out and might as well talk to the next in line now.
532
Paper_Clip100 Mar 24, 2026 +286
Would be funny if they started using that line, similar to what Trump has been saying about Khamenj
286
Unique-Coffee5087 Mar 24, 2026 +55
They can hint that Vance brought up the 25th Amendment. Edit: In order to spur Trump's paranoia
55
Kaa_The_Snake Mar 24, 2026 +102
That would be GOLD!

MintyFresh668 Mar 24, 2026 +55
They already used Fake News back at him so..,
55
BowlerBeautiful5804 Mar 24, 2026 +49
This was my first thought when I read the headline. Would be ironic if they proposed to Vance to stage a coup on his own administration
49
nancy_necrosis Mar 25, 2026 +16
It's not a coup! Trump is a crazed, demented maniac. 25th amendment now!!!!
16
PolicyWonka Mar 24, 2026 +21
Shunning Trump’s family by requesting and is a good way to fracture the relationship that Trump and Vance have.

If I were them I would be doing this to make King Don think Iran is going to use JD to 25th him out of the Presidency in a coup. They already know they can't trust a single deal thing they agree to so they may as well try to make him go crazy w/paranoia in the hopes he wrecks his regime via internal purges.
75
SuchBravado Mar 25, 2026 +16
Right, if you’re already getting shot at, there are so many advantages to your enemy being an absolute idiot in a coveted seat of power.
16
mvschynd Mar 24, 2026 +75
Why is this so easy to picture. They presented Irans proposal and he got confused by big words and got offended and decided he needed to stroke his ego with a missile or 20.

Or give trump a chance to finish the job he couldn't get done on Pence...
40
R-Dragon_Thunderzord Mar 25, 2026 +18
It's 100% a troll from the Iranians. JD Vance is trying to stay the HELL out of the Iran news and NOT take a hard stance for/against the war. This has been noticed by journos and pundits. The short version is JD Vance is still trying to position himself for a run next term which requires him not to hang himself by his own petard on this Iran issue currently. Iran isn't stupid, they've just as similarly picked up on this, so this is now very much an open invitation to JD Vance to hurry up and choose his flavor of petard.
18
AltoidStrong Mar 24, 2026 +32
That or Vance just takes the deal, war ends.... For now.. Vance uses "I ended Trunp's war" when the gop oligarchs decide to hang Trump out to dry and Vance runs in 2028 on that along with a bunch of "if hadn't stopped him as much as I did, behind the scenes, it would have been so much worse" type of bullshit.
32
awmaleg Mar 25, 2026 +8
W*****. This is the strategy they’ll run with
8
WildDemir Mar 24, 2026 +13
Kushner and Witkoff are Israel puppets and if you believe the theories are actively making shit up to Trump, Hegseth is a psycho and Trump is swayed by the last person to talk to him. Vance is utterly self-interested but he's the only shot at any of the views of the Iranians getting through.
13
PartyLikeAByzantine Mar 24, 2026 +12
British diplomats, who were there as advisors, basically spelled out the last Iranian offer prior to the war. It was a better deal than John Kerry negotiated. They literally could have walked away legitimately claiming to have outdone Obama. Instead, this shit.
12
08mms Mar 24, 2026 +7
Maybe, but if he can pull it off he also can play the “I opposed the war internally and then did something to stop it” card which might have some genuine salience.
7
08mms Mar 24, 2026 +7
Or, Trump will green light the Israelis to bomb the negotiation site to take out the Iranian PM and repeat what Trump tried to do with his last VP…
7
Maxamillion-X72 Mar 24, 2026 +196
Or perhaps they want to speak directly to Vance because they're counting on Vance stabbing Trump in the back (metaphorically or literally?) at some point and it's better to gauge his commitment to the agreement for when he is president. They know Trump, Kushner, and Witkoff are not to be trusted and any treaty won't be worth the paper it's written on. They want to know if Vance is the same and no better way to know than a face to face meeting. Or maybe they want to assassinate him, after all, turnabout is fair play.
196
pchs26 Mar 24, 2026 +39
Maybe they think Vance will huddle with his benefactor/sponsor, Thiel post meeting who is capable of applying stronger pressure, especially if he sees something that further solidifies his strength/takeover and they can make an end run there. Thiel is after all one of the puppetmasters who is pulling alot of strings here and he is also embedded globally for his future evil expansion plans...
39
cogman10 Mar 25, 2026 +11
According to rumors, Vance isn't a fan of the war. That's a big part of why he's simply evaporated for the last few weeks. I think they want to talk to Vance because they believe he wants to end the war. Kushner is a bad person to negotiate with. He's more concerned with building luxury apartments in Lebanon, Gaza, and the West bank than he is interested in peace. I believe Kushner wanted this war. That's part of the reason why negotiations went nowhere.
11
Tichrimo Mar 24, 2026 +24
Do you want a Vice-president Kushner? Because that's how you get a Vice-president Kushner.
24

Jon Stewart just had on Obama and Biden's guy that negotiated with Iran and it was very informative, I recommend watching it, after watching that then hearing they want Vance, in not surprised.

They are also cleverly enabling what Trump will fear is an ascension of Vance on the world stage; someone Trump's weak paranoia cannot allow to creep up on him. At the same time giving Vance an ego boost. Though it's not the greatest compliment to be valued more highly than Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Thumb.
28
_Panacea_ Mar 24, 2026 +161
So they think VANCE knows about nuclear technology?
161
RimboTheRebbiter Mar 24, 2026 +306
No, but they most likely suppose that Vance will bring along actual experts who can explain it to him, unlike tweedle dee and tweedle dum
306
deadflow3r Mar 24, 2026 +185
I think the better answer might be that JD runs to his rich friends explaining what is actually going on and they will pressure Trump in the right direction for them.

Also, there is a chance Vance becomes the next president, so they tie him to the agreement too.

7
D-MAN-FLORIDA Mar 24, 2026 +14
I wouldn’t be too sure about that.
14
threehundredthousand Mar 24, 2026 +37
The point is they want to talk to someone other than real estate developers. Witkoff and Kushner are like time share salespeople, but you get missile striked after the meeting.
37
D-MAN-FLORIDA Mar 24, 2026 +17
It doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. Trump apparently said that he is sending Vance and Rubio with Witkoff and Kushner to talks. As long as the real estate developers are there, I don’t see the talks going successful.
17
andyraylan Mar 24, 2026 +29
I don’t have a lot of faith or confidence in Vance to do much of anything except keep his eye on his political future. I think that if he looks at this as an opportunity to succeed where others have failed, he might bring some experts along with him. As long as he is the face, that he can campaign on it, he would allow other people do the actual work. The one problem I foresee is finding experts who will operate in good faith and be willing to join this circus. Might be mutually exclusive, competence and willingness to work with this administration.
29
samwild Mar 24, 2026 +20
Agreed. But this is probably more promising than Kushners motives
20
andyraylan Mar 24, 2026 +13
Yes, that’s a low bar that perhaps even Vance could hurdle.
13
Srnkanator Mar 24, 2026 +20
The first transition for the DOE under Trump's first term didn't show up for the transition. It took months to even recognize the current leadership and in the end the administration appointed Rick Perry as the head, because they thought it was a about oil, not our nuclear energy, waste, or weapons. True story.

They probably know that Zach Braff Vance's political future depend on him not pissing off the America First "No Foreign Wars" right, and so figure he's more eager to it than Kushner.
12
PreferenceProper9795 Mar 24, 2026 +6
Could be a nuclear couch?
6
ratbaby86 Mar 24, 2026 +19
Yes. Vance does not want the stink of this war on him and the Iranians realize he is the weaker link in the administration re suing for peace. Marco is a neocon and the rest of the admin owe their positions to Trump and are foremost loyal to him -- Iran recognizes JD is not. I would imagine his league of oligarchs also do not like the prospect of critical minerals shortages that will result from the closure of the Strait. Iran has also threatened to bomb data centers in the region as well. I'm sure this is also on Tucker's recommendation. Or maybe they just want to take him to the big furniture store in the sky -- who knows!
19
crocodial Mar 24, 2026 +15
Or that they are smartly using JD Vance as a means to undermine Trump and cause a rift.
15
BillG8s Mar 24, 2026 +14
This might be the most terrifying commentary on this war I've heard tbh
14
Quick_Parking_6464 Mar 24, 2026 +20
>Witkoff and Kushner both lacked any knowledge of nuclear technology Yes, this is the case. These are real-estate guys (at least Kushner is) discussing nuclear topics without understanding any of it. Don't underestimate or devalue Iran. They have solid universities and well-trained engineers. Their government officials and negotiators aren't only clerics with theology training. They're intelligent guys with advanced degrees. But we send the D team.
20
Informal-Bag-3287 Mar 24, 2026 +9
And to a certain extent raise Vance's popularity and by that same effect piss off Trump to a maximum effect. Vance isn't in the top 100 of the people qualified to negotiate with the Iran, but he's in the top 3 of people that royally piss off Trump when they steal his spotlight
9
ForsakenKrios Mar 24, 2026 +14
How bleak is that, I bet if they actually negotiate with Vance they’ll find another lack of intelligence or good faith dialogue.

I can't think of a single person in this administration that isn't both an idiot and a bad faith actor.

Netanyahu stayed with Kushner’s family in New Jersey. Even slept in his bed and Jared had to go sleep in the basement. Couldn’t even get a security clearance before Trump ordered it lol. The levels of corruption and there ties to each other would be considered corny in a movie it’s crazy.

Iran is rejecting Trump’s Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner. Those two guys are incompetent to be leading these negotiations or any others, such as with Russia and Ukraine. This is solid evidence that Iran is much smarter than Trump.

superbum42 Mar 24, 2026 +342
Have you ever met anyone from Iran? It's anecdotal, but I haven't met a Persian American that wasn't intelligent or at least gifted in some way. Edit: Appreciate reading the responses to this post. It's good to see people working through the nuance of the Iran conflict. This sentiment is based on one of my best friends and his family being Persian as well and a few others I've met throughout college. However, I'm not ignorant and it's fair to say people are people everywhere and there will always be shitheads. My friend has family members who voted for Trump after all. I guess I bring up this point to emphasize the ignorance of Trump's team and their supporters. They tend to lean into American Exceptionalism a bit too much and cloud their judgement and underestimate their adversaries. Unfortunately we live in a world where bad actors and religious zealots can be highly intelligent but use that intelligence for greed or to impose prejudice. Look at some of our own American politicians who should know better than they pretend. Is this a pro-Iran post? No Is their current regime bad? Yes Is regime change the end-goal? Who knows? This administration sure doesn't know, so doubtful. Is this administration capable of respecting their adversaries and not dealing in bad faith? Nope. Can't guarantee they don't deal in bad faith with our allies and parts of America.

coolfellow Mar 24, 2026 +394
Not refuting, but this could be an example of selection bias, as the majority of people who emigrate from a country are already doing better than most of the populace, to have the opportunity to emigrate.
394
samdavi Mar 24, 2026 +222
As an Iranian, I want to refute what both of you said. The amount of expat Iranians thanking Uncle Trump and Uncle Lindsey for bombing their home country is insane. They're not that smart. On a more serious note, a good portion of Iranian expat's hatred of the regime is so intense that they've lost any notion of logic, and they actually thought that US and Israel bombing Iran will lead to a free and democratic Iran. Which is paradoxical to their toxic and violent behavior towards fellow Iranians that were saying that a war will not only not get rid of the regime, but will actually lead the country backwards democracy-wise, and make the current regime more extreme and powerful, and mainly hurt innocent civilians. Sorry for the rant

I’m not Iranian but an old friend of mine is (lives in Canada) and has been posting unbelievable amounts of pro Trump/Israel propaganda on his IG every day and it’s so disheartening. It’s like he can’t hold 2 thoughts in his head at once (ayatollah bad, but war a very bad idea) and has completely bought in to this insanely stupid escapade. For instance, when the US bombed the girls school, he first posted: “Iran did it”, then as more evidence came out it was “well Iran was hiding weapons in the school” and then as it was pretty much confirmed to be the US’s fault he posted a video about “why would they build a school so close to a military base”. Boggles my mind.

I studied political science in college and a really awesome professor went on for a whole lecture about how Iranians are known among all countries for their diplomatic/negotiating prowess. It’s steeped in their history from being stuck between a bunch of empires. Greeks to their west, mongols to their east/north. The notion that the Ayatollahs/Iranian government are some back water Middle Eastern thugs is what gives them the upper hand. Just to be clear f*** the ayatollahs and the regime that suppresses the great Iranian people. I’m just talking about their ability to “play” international relations.

This is weak correlation so take it with a grain of salt (and setting aside *what kind of people emigrate* and *who are you more likely to interact with*), but Iran scored the 4th highest IQ in 2025 fwiw. *I mean I wouldn't trust the current idiots either, it will be interesting to see how this all plays out. Will Trump sideline his slimy son in law and elevate the sort of out of favor but still cabinet sycophant Vance to negotiator? Vance may be shifty and ambitious but in no way as corrupt or self interested as Kusher or Witkoff.* "Iran said it is done dealing with the two emissaries President Donald Trump has tasked with leading negotiations in the Middle East." "The country, which Trump began striking over three weeks ago, is not keen on any more attempts at negotiations with Trump’s Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, or Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, both of whom were leading the nuclear negotiations with Iran before the war." "Iran now says it will only engage in negotiations with Vice President J.D. Vance, according to a report in [The Guardian](https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/mar/24/pakistan-army-chief-iran-peace-talks-trump-call)." "At the time that Trump launched his deadly war in Iran, the U.S. and Iran were engaged in negotiations over the country’s nuclear program." "Since the war was launched, the Iranian regime has viewed those negotiations, headed by Witkoff and Kushner, as a front by the Trump administration to trick Iran into thinking they were negotiating in good faith, when the U.S. really just wanted to attack." “With the previous negotiating team, there’s no chance,” one diplomatic source told the Guardian. “The Iranian side regards the request for negotiations as another round of deception for the US-Israeli regime to find out a loophole to aggravate the strikes again.” "The source noted that Iran sees Vance as a more acceptable diplomatic figure than Witkoff and Kushner, especially as Vance is, at his core, a skeptic of U.S. military action in the Middle East." “If the negotiations are going to have any outcome, JD Vance should join,” the source told the outlet. “With Witkoff and Kushner, nothing will come out of it. We have seen that in the past.”

I love this so much. JD has been against a war with Iran for forever and anyone outside the MAGA h******* base hates this war. Here's to hoping it tanks his presidential prospects to be so tied to it.

Probably some version of the Dems put Iran up to making this demand and are working against him.

Sleepy Joe Biden and Barack Hussein Obama, not kidding folks, that's really his name, have so weakened this nations's credibility that terrorist regimes such as the crooked radical left Iranian political war machine will no longer negotiate in good faith with the best possible patriots and friends to the middle east such as my son-in-law Jared Fogle. It's a sad day for America when we have to stand proud and alone having won this conflict many times now, the best wins, with no help from Sleepy Joe Biden and Barack Hussein Obama and the rest of our coward NATO so-called "allies". If the radical left democrats in congress do not completely obliterate, that's a word I like a lot, obliterate, not quite as much as exonerate, I saw a pigeon on the lawn yesterday, obliterate the ability for people to vote in this upcoming election, I am going to give all social security funds to Lockheed Martin to make us more missiles and maybe Gavin Newscum will buy some crypto currency, i don't know but I hope he does, TRUMP coin, a lot of it. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

They're trying to play Trump like a fiddle, fomenting paranoia because he's a power-hungry megalomaniac and by saying that they respect JD more than Trump they're gonna attempt to turn Trump against JD for outshining him. I think this might be a play to either continue to cause the fracturing of the Republican coalition by turning JD and the Thiel followers in the GOP against the pro-Israel and Evangelicals vying for expansionism. It also means that if Trump doesn't do it, he's effectively shunning peace talks in favour of inevitable bloody ground combat at which we're severely disadvantaged in order to try to end a war he pointlessly started, which pisses off the anti-war crowd and makes him look more and more responsible for all the social unrest that the inevitable economic hardship is going to cause. Best case scenario, the plan is to have Trump turn on JD and force JD's hand on 25th-ing him.
75
No_Philosopher_1870 Mar 24, 2026 +16
How long would that buy, an hour? Invoking the 25th Amendment only makes Vance the acting president. All that Trump has to do is notify Congress that he is fit to resume his duties. Permanent removal through the 25th Amendment requires a two-thirds majority in both the House and Senate. It's harder to do than impeachment.

“Can we please speak to an adult.” - Iran
11
Kierenshep Mar 25, 2026 +7
It's insane a tyrannical theocratic despotic regime is more sane and rational than the self proclaimed leader of the free world. Iran has consistently shown itself to be a rational actor and reliably acts in good faith towards the regimes best self interest. This demand is certainly not unreasonable considering everything that went on and being surprise attacked -during- negotiations. It really makes you wonder what normalized relations with Iran might have eventually been like had we kept down the road originally started by Obama.
7
kittenconfidential Mar 24, 2026 +7
very clever. not like anything DJ will negotiate will ever see fruition because daddy T will want to either take credit or destroy all the evidence. iran has just stepped DJ into danger territory. 4D chess indeed.
7
False_Cookie8226 Mar 24, 2026 +2318
Holy shit, Iran **is** playing 4d chess. JD Vance will be forced to tow the Trump line in Iran that he clearly disagrees with. And the truly brilliant part, Trump will be pissed that Iran respects JD Vance more than the people Trump personally chose.
2318
SlumdogSkillionaire Mar 24, 2026 +937
Right? The optics here are glorious. If Vance thinks he's the heir apparent for 2028, he's either got to toe the line and defend this gigantic unpopular mistake, or sit down at the table. Trump's too big of a narcissist to ever let Vance actually end this war, so he loses no matter what. - Refuse to negotiate and alienate the voters - Accept the offer but fail to reach a conclusion and look like Iran ate your lunch too - Accept the offer and successfully negotiate a deal and then Trump reminds you what almost happened to the last VP that crossed him
937
btribble Mar 24, 2026 +237
And if Trump doesn't send him, he's just creating doubt as to JD's electability that will be brought up during any future election.

Vance will ultimately have to do whatever Thiel tells him to do if he wants to continue his career. It could be one of the above as Thiel may decide that it is not a winning strategy for him to create chaos by sending Vance to speak visibly.

TurboSalsa Mar 24, 2026 +18
This war is already so unpopular and widely seen as unnecessary that Vance isn’t going to get any credit for negotiating an end to it. Bragging that he reopened the strait that was only closed because of the war his administration started is only going to remind people that they spent a bunch of extra money on gas for no strategic benefit. I also don’t think anyone on earth has the diplomatic chops to negotiate a deal that both Trump and the Iranians can live with, least of all Vance himself.
18
ScotTheDuck Mar 24, 2026 +112
Honestly I think that’s reading too much into it. At this point, the only people that the Iranians trust to negotiate in anything remotely resembling good faith are going to be Vance and Rubio. Witkoff and Kushner at best bumbled us into a war, and at worst deliberately double crossed them, and they were direct emissaries from Trump. Why would the Iranians ever accept anything they (or Trump) say from this point forward?
112
Vio_ Mar 24, 2026 +77
Rubio is in no way shape or form "good faith." He's angling to become Warlord Supreme over Cuba.
77
RimboTheRebbiter Mar 24, 2026 +54
No, but if this story is accurate, I think that Iran is essentially trying to bypass "trumpworld" and negotiate with the US state indirectly, ie American institutions like the military/CIA/etc, through JD Vance. Essentially get the American state on board with knocking this c*** off and hope that they can bully Trump into standing down. Not sure how viable it is, but its certainly a better shot than Kushner and Witkoff.
54
space_manatee Mar 24, 2026 +34
Its required to have at least a masters to be in parliament in Iran and a huge number have PHds. The president is a heart surgeon.  Meanwhile we have probably the dumbest, least intellectual leader in world history.
34
iymcool Mar 24, 2026 +41
It would also, if presented in a certain light/if Iran started to become responsive AND communicative, make Vance look stronger than Trump; or like someone that can clean up even a Trump-sized mess. Maybe a small domino, or a slightly larger one, but possibly one that leads to the 25th Amendment being used, even if the VP is a puppet of a nation we started a war with?
41
cozmckitty Mar 24, 2026 +11

Sorry to be pedantic, but it’s actually “toe the line” not “tow the line”.  The idiom originates from nautical history, as sailors would have to line up on a specific deck board to muster, and they were expected to have their toes on a specific line on deck. The more you know  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toe_the_line Edit: autocorrect changed tow to toe

Bad headline. Iran is refusing to deal with the chucklefuck real estate idiots Trump sent to negotiate with Iran and Russia. That makes sense. Their incompetence and misunderstanding of the nuclear issue might have caused this whole thing. Iran wants to negotiate with the veep instead. That's a double edged sword for Vance. The republican establishment wants Rubio as their candidate in 28. Vance could seize this opportunity to improve his chances of getting the nomination, but the risks are greater than the reward. Iran isn't going to roll over and give Trump everything he wants. Trump is more likely to blame Vance when he can't get those promises. This is a lose/lose situation for Vance.

ConnectionJust9118 Mar 24, 2026 +98
Trump won’t sign off on Vance negotiations. This is a huge blow to his ego. No way he’ll let Vance take credit for a resolution
98
LadyPo Mar 24, 2026 +26
Yeah it’s absolutely not happening imo. Like a true narcissist, he will refuse to be upstaged. He’ll want to be all “big strong man” about it and can’t be seen as operating on their terms. On the other hand, he’d love to have a name to throw under the bus.

16
jacscarlit Mar 24, 2026 +21
Unless they're hoping to convince Vance to replace Trump in Trump's 2nd term. But it'll still be a losing situation for Vance because then he'll inherit the bad and no one wants him for president so he'll be a lame duck with a huge mess on his hands.  Editing to add: no matter the outcome the American people lose the most.
21
seemontyburns Mar 24, 2026 +27
> American people lose the most. We’re bombing children’s schools. The Iranian regime slaughtered 30k dissidents like months ago. The Iranians count their losses in bodies.

mildurajackaroo Mar 24, 2026 +46
Genius move..JD has been conspicuous by his absence during all critical stages of Trump's presidency...almost like he doesn't want to be part of any misadventure. He is being groomed for 2028. But screw him, he isn't going to Peter Thiel his way to the top.
46
literallytwisted Mar 24, 2026 +36
Trump has enough remaining animal cunning to know Vance is waiting for that last stroke so he may be hoping Iran assassinates him, That would be an excellent excuse to expand the war and interfere with the midterms at home. And Vance would be the second Vice President Trump tried to get rid of so there's precedence.

This is becoming the most embarrassing military loss and diplomatic boondoggle in American history. At least with Afghanistan and Iraq 2 the military was able to actually achieve some goal even if they were unable to maintain it. Here they didnt even have forces in place to hold one of the most key waterways on the globe, have been unable to actually stop military actions by Iran, have lead to huge devastation to unrelated parties, and now are debating boots on the ground in the one thing conservatives could point to as a positive for this administration.

This administration is SO far out of its depths in dealing with Iran. I dont think any of them understood that Iran is not some tent dwelling, uneducated, sand dunebillies who they could outsmart. Zero chance America is in a position where it will out politic Iran here. You have a country that has for decades, planned for this EXACT eventuality. Americas leaders booked a landscaping companies parking lot because its called "Four Seasons" and they thought it was a hotel.

Trump doesn’t have any credible person to send, so they asked for Vance to humiliate him. Trump and his sycophants have no idea of the ideology/culture of the people in the Middle East. They think it’s all about money and show of force. He and his kind are about FAFO.

The worst part is that Trump already ordered Iran to surrender unconditionally. Once last year and once this year. 2026.03.06 Trump’s war aim: Iran’s ‘unconditional surrender’ https://www.politico.com/news/2026/03/06/donald-trump-iran-war-unconditional-surrender-00816361 2025.06.17 Trump Calls for Iran’s ‘Unconditional Surrender’ and Threatens Its Supreme Leader https://www.nytimes.com/2025/06/17/us/politics/trump-iran-surrender-khamenei.html An unconditional surrender is a surrender in which no guarantees, reassurances, or promises (i.e., conditions) are given to the surrendering party. It is often demanded with the threat of complete destruction, extermination or annihilation.

It’s been widely reported that Vance doesn’t like this war, and neither does the public. Vance is smart enough to know that ending the war greatly increases his odds in ‘28. That’s good for Iran, because Vance and Iran have aligned interests. This is also good for Trump because he needs an exit, and has a patsy he can throw under the bus if the deal is unpopular. Iran is smarter than us at this.

Calling for Vance is just such hilarious troll move. Vance can’t win this, Trump would turn on him so fast if he “fixed” anything and took some of the attention away. They picked Vance over Rubio or anyone else specifically to play on the insecurities in their administration. What a shit show this all is.

Could this be a way for Iran to alienate Vance from Trump? I doubt Vance is trusted or liked by Trump and any perceived superiority that Vance might have, like being picked by Iran, is surely going to piss-off Trump. Delicious. Alternatively, Vance, if he has any smarts, wants to put all the distance between himself and the Iran conflict. If Trump goes along with Iran and tries to pin ending the war on Vance by appointing him as chief negotiator, I can see Vance doing a new phone who’s dis routine, likely to further fracture the Trump - Vance relationship. Yummy-yummy in my tummy. In the end, this war is going to f*** us all. So as always, F*** the Iranian regime, f*** Netanyahu, f*** guy-liner Vance and as always F*** Trump the Pedo. Release the files.
