Yes they desperately need the strait open to start letting shipments out. Their reserves are full and are going to need to shut down refineries soon. Their economy’s already going down the drain. A few shut down refineries for a couple of months is going to put them into a decade of trouble at least. That’s why they’re suddenly backing off of their hardline stance on demands of repayment and tolls and stuff. They need it open

Yes, and up go fuel prices even more once those refineries are shut down. And it will also mean high fuel prices for years to come. The fuel prices will never return to pre-war prices...ever.

There is going to be a big announcement from Trump on TACO Tuesday - Strait open Then another big announcement on Friday - Strait closed.

The timing for presenting the proposal is a really smart move by Tehran, Trump doesn't have enough time to issue a counter proposal before the market opens.

Is this proposal from Tehran or the IRGC? Tehran must get permission from the IRGC first.

If I recall correctly, there are reports the IRGC criticized the Iranian negotiators for talking about nuclear and basically said they can’t talk about the nuclear issue. Hence it’s absent from currently negotiation, but it’s pretty much the core issue along with strait as a red line for USA. https://www.jpost.com/middle-east/iran-news/article-893978

IRGC are based in Tehran. But yes I imagine approval would be required from the IRGC for any proposal from the civilian faction of Iran's leadership.

That wasn’t the case previously when Tehran announced that the Straits was opened only to be denied by the IRGC spokesman a day later.

True, Tehran didn't get permission from the IRGC.
