Over half of all container ships in service now are Korean built.
>As of late 2025, South Korea holds a significant share of the global shipping container fleet, with about 50.1% of existing container ships (16.4m TEU) built in Korean shipyards. While China has dominated recent orders, Korea remains a primary builder for container ships alongside Japan, with the three nations commanding nearly 99% of the market.
Key Trends in Container Shipbuilding (2025-2026):
> Existing Fleet: South Korea built 50.1%, followed by China (29.4%), and Japan (9.9%).

Iranian news is useless.
They have shutdown internet in their own country from last 30 days, no journalist allowed, All they do is post some AI videos and some US damage videos.
They are completely hiding their own damage. Cant rely on anything which Iran shows or says. I wont trust any of the nations with mis-information here.Only fools will fall for Iranian proganda where they down 1 plane and US CENTCOM shows their Missille sites getting blown up but then Iran denies, Lmao 😂😂
It is useless to follow any news.

One difference is the U.S is not killing their journalists or imprisoning them.
To me that's a policy that will have a substantial impact on the difference of reporting.

US CENTCOM, Maxar showing videos, images. At least not AI ones.
Iran ones have been filled with AI, one even had AI watermark. So many of Iran have been caught. Ppl will believe anything shared by Iran just out of hate for US, typical bias state of mind.
Doesnt change the reality at all.
Lmfao... "where the f*** is this boat actually from?"

Just like how they claimed to hit an Israel vessel and actually hit an anchored Kuwaiti oil tanker that was holding oil for China?
Kuwait is still anti-Israel and doesn't approve of Israel as a country or a state. In fact, it shows "Palestine" in Kuwaitis map.

April 4 (Reuters) - Iran attacked an Israel-affiliated vessel with a drone in the Strait of Hormuz, setting the ship on fire, Iran's state media said on Saturday, citing the commander of the Revolutionary Guards navy.
There was no immediate comment from Israel.
Thats it, there is nothing else.

Fantastic. Still hasn’t hit any news feeds. Edit: I googled and still can’t confirm. The only thing I saw was that they declared the missing person is a WSO which was speculation at first.
I used to be able to count on lots of sources and using my own tricks to read as many as I could to verify.
The US is controlling what gets released and the difference before Trump 2.0 is drastic.

They won’t officially announce this until the rescue force is safe and sound back wherever they left from, odds are the people reporting on it have sources involved with the op and are reporting info as they get it, which is quite irresponsible if the force is still in the air

“ They said it yesterday too and there was nothing. Any sentence starting with "Iran says" is meaningless “
This seems to be a very popular meme on listnook lately;
Except this meme keeps getting applied to stories reported by the BBC , Al-Jazeera and/or CNA etc…
Obviously there is a lot of BS coming out of Iranian leadership - but most major media publications make it clear when they can’t confirm the story.
In other cases - you have straight forward descriptive stories being confirmed and reported by most major news organizations.
“ you can trust mainstream media “
Increasingly people can’t seem to differentiate between opinion , debate, and news that’s is simply descriptive.
I.e “ a Ford F-150 crashed in Oklahoma City at 3pm January 10th , 2015 “ - that’s descriptive information.
3 people on a news channel arguing over which politician is less racist or who’s campaign is the coolest or lamest or most effective — isn’t descriptive
The 3 people arguing shouldn’t really be considered news (in my opinion ), but it’s what often fills up American “mainstream” news television - I suppose that’s why people get confused and conclude that mainstream media is untrustworthy.
Meanwhile “mainstream media is bullshit — that’s why I listen to — Insert favorite YouTuber or podcaster — “
99% of YouTubers or podcasts are commentating on news that they’ve read in “mainstream” media — without these outlets and actual journalists - they’d be completely in the dark…
99% of political podcasters & YouTubers & tick-tokers aren’t doing any journalism whatsoever - yet they love to criticize “mainstream media”
If we solely had to rely on influencers for news - we’d be absolutely fucked.
We’d get breaking news about the latest YouTube beefs —- but we’d find out about military coups like 2 weeks later.

That would not work.
The issue for U.S is not "not getting" oil, U.S gets like less than 5% of all total Oil in Hormuz per day.
It's that Energy Prices are global, so when countries are affected they buy from other providers.
In Fact, U.S Energy Companies (Specifically OIl and Natural Gas) are making a fortune in this conflict because the price increase benefits these.
Strategically it also benefits U.S because it impacts China, so in the long run, it's worse for China.
The issue here is:
In U.S It's the population that is affected in the price increase that is the "problem" and to be clear, only a problem for Trump because of the Midterms and if Dems somehow get Super Majority it's Straight to Jail for him.
It also affects U.S allies, in specific it's really bad for Gulf Countries and Japan, which are extremely important for U.S economy due to the PetroDollar and the Yen Carry Trade.
Those are the Iran Cards in this conflict.

You forgot the US oil companies are heavily invested in the Middle East. Exxon for instance ships 20% of its oil from the ME.

Unfortunately the problem is then no one will care about the war anymore. That means much less international and economic pressure.

That's apparently what's happening, but the vessels have to prove they're not linked to U.S/Israel in any way. France had ships pass through and also voted with Russia, China, and Iran on not condemning the closing of Hormuz at the UN council.
France is the nuclear power in NATO outside of American, and they look poised to assume a real leadership role in the hemisphere.
