Yeah, the media is all over this shit. Just tell me what's actually happening, if anything, and knock off all the drivel from all sides.

Nobody knows. This IS whats actually happening. Two insane govs with splintered authority and a weird quantum superposition inside the strait. Blame the f****** politicians for a change

It’s over. Iran is on a limited runway. Trump made a big mistake and wants to get out of the mess. Iran can’t afford to be stuck not pumping oil unless they want to ruin their oil production permanently. Stock markets already figured it out for a few weeks now.

At this point I could just watch a computer tie itself indefinitely at pong

If you’ve seen diplomatic engagements between Israel and Iran proxies, Hamas, since Oct. 7th, and you’re use to that, the American-Iranian engagements aren’t much different.

Wish Pakistan would pursue “peace” with its other neighbors as it bombs Afghan hospitals and slaughtering 400 patients and arm terrorists to kill Indians.

Most Pakistani writers writing for international media always have whitewashing agenda, be it news piece or op eds.

What bombing? They don't know about any bombings. Just like they didn't know Osama bin Laden was vacationing close to one of their military bases for 5 years!

Pakistan and anything peace - can't end up in the same sentence. Obl who caused 9/11 and killed innocents was being protected by their govt. And usa has a relationship with the country. Imagine the disgust the families of those innocent civillians who lost their lives to that dastardly act would have been feeling.

It’s insulting to the Iranian side to be negotiating with officials that are lacking the appropriate rank.

feral0101 1 day ago +3
That’s the whole point. Trump is surrounded by zealots that are intentionally sabotaging any talks. The Iranians specifically asked for Vance thinking he’d be a hedge away from these idiots. He called Trump like 12 times and kept Bibi Netanyahu up-to-date on talks. Unlike the Iranian side, he didn’t have any real authority to negotiate on behalf of the side he was presenting… It’s a shit show.

Maybe they’ll figure it out. The USofA ain’t playing by the terrorists rules anymore. Stop the attacks by proxy and nuke ambitions or keep an eye out for bunker busters and NOS JDAMS equipped dumbdumbs. The threats and missiles and pin prick terrorism has finally awoken the lion and he’s hungry.

Pakistan is a terrorist nation. It’s not supporting peace. Never has . Never will

IRAN can never be trusted . NEVER. And now the USA can’t be trusted . Without trust there can’t be an agreement .

I don't see how this ends without either Trump embarrassing himself and leaving or boots on the ground.

I'm sure there's a way that both options can be implemented simultaneously. I mean, the guy regularly has fast food on the menu in the White House for official functions, so it's not like he's not a f****** joke already.

Correct. Trump has lost. It just a question of which way. Boots on the ground is likely end of Republican party as thousands of US casualties. Collapse of US economy into a decade or longer recession if not depression. Further come mid terms congress tells trump "this is a war. You don't have permission." And the military can legally ignore him.

lol, End of the Republican Party…? That’s incredibly wishful thinking.

Dozens of casualties likely in order to do a JFE and open up the strait of Hormuz-maybe one hundred at worst, but not thousands.

Iran should demand the Epstein files just to see what waves it creates

Ayatollah Khamenei, founder and first leader of the Islamic Republic, authored a book addressing Islamic legal issues as a commentary on Islamic jurisprudence. In it, he writes: Intercourse with a woman is not permitted unless she is at least nine years old, regardless of whether the marriage is permanent or temporary. However, there is no objection to other forms of sexual activity, such as lasciviously touching, hugging, and rubbing the thighs, even with a suckling infant. I don't think they find Epstein shocking or repulsive.

Still, it’s like having a picture of Trump with a goat, but worse, despite being on their menu of acceptable behavior

According to Khomeini, sexual relations with goats are permissible if they prevent you from committing worse sins and you then give the goat to your neighbor to eat. You should never accept a gift goat. Nine-year-old girls, infants, and goats are okay, but woe betide any two adult, legally competent men who feel the need to enjoy themselves together. Death penalty.

Dude just like give them several billion in Cash, build them a nuclear plant outside Iran that connects and build some desalination plants. I know thats probably not acceptable, but it solves to problems Iran is having without ,mostly, increasing their hard power.

Iran declined an offer of a free supply of nuclear fuel for energy in exchange for dismantling their enrichment program.

nonquitt 22 hr ago +1
I mean they’ll never give up the nuke now, since we’ve made it clear we will opportunistically depose their regime. Israel gets what it wants — conflict expansion. Little viable off ramp in sight.

GilbyGlibber 1 day ago -1
This is just a shower thought, but it's the middle east, can't they just go solar and supplement it with their own oil? Why do they need such a reliance on nuclear?
-1
nonquitt 22 hr ago +1
The regime wants survival. Its survival depends on having a nuclear shield and denying Israel regional hegemony and freedom of action.

giboauja 1 day ago
Extremly high base power. It doesnt go down or up, its immensely stable.  In the long run Solar will be dominant, but nuclear is still incredibly effeciant.

GilbyGlibber 1 day ago +1
They have two no brainer energy sources already that they can feasibly prioritize. They do not need nuclear.

And what of the $200 billion or whatever that number was in reparations for the attack against Iran?
-4
giboauja 22 hr ago +1
Yeah... with their inflation the real number... isnt probably that high. Remember dont take any nations statement at face value, especially one who's top level is so corrupt (believe it or not even more corrupt than the US). They're like the Utah government blowing through the salt lake water supply, even though it will dry out the lake and make the region toxic, but its the whole country. Oh and IRGC leadership has mansions at billionaire row in London (Clerics too). Lucky (ish) for the US, we might get one more shot to turn our ship around within the system. Otherwise our country will become eeringly similar to Iran. This isnt the reality for Iranians.
