I think the companies and their shareholders can absorb any losses. I mean, they are very clear that they do not exist to benefit anything except their shareholders.

That's the only thing Americans care about. The reason Trump is suffering blowback over the invasion of Iran isn't the invasion of Iran itself, it's the rising price of gas and oil that it has caused, and if there was no rise in price there would have been no blowback. IT profits, which are the only thing preventing the USA from being labeled as being in a recession, is what people care about.
