I can’t say I’m surprised. The US literally bombed Iran twice while they were in previous peace negotiations

They have no incentive to accept, they’ve spent decades preparing for this war including for the decap strikes, Trump had thrown us into the meat grinder for his own ego

the other huge issue for trump - is that the damage for the midterms has already been done. The longer this plays out the worse it is for him. Iran knows this. Iran knows that if this continues for a couple more months, dems in congress will vote to end the war. This is the backdrop of any negotiations.

Why would Iran be interested in talking to us? We just killed thousands of their people and most of their top leadership. This would be like Osama bin Laden calling the US and asking us for ceasefire talks a couple weeks after 9/11.

Most Americans don’t see people from other countries as human, which is why we get so shocked when our actions abroad have consequences.

The farther away someone is, the less empathy people have for them. This has been proven over and over again in psychological experiments done on people all over the planet. It certainly isn't something that just affects Americans.

Most people don't have the same level of ability to drop bombs on the folks furthest way from them that the US does.

True but American have significantly less empathy than the rest of the world at large. It’s how we elect people like Trump into power.

Here's a list of the most generous charitable countries on earth. You're not going to see any Western countries on the list until you get about halfway down, but then the US is higher on the list than Canada or any of the EU countries (except Ukraine). [https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/most-charitable-countries](https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/most-charitable-countries) European countries are at the bottom of the list.

Seems that if you live in a country which voted for tax dollars to go to things like health care and welfare to provide basic human necessities then you don’t have to depend on donations to organizations to provide those services.

I guess those countries are so heavily taxed that they don't have enough money left after paying their taxes to give a shit about other people elsewhere in the world.

More like offer peace talks after 9/11 then hitting the US again. We have morons and psychopaths running the government.

Not surprising. The US pushing a ceasefire now just looks like an attempt to save face after the whole situation blew up on them.

It’s yet another “yeah, we hit you, but you’re being a real a****** by being mad about it.” We drew their head general to “talks” and then bombed him. We bombed their nuclear research facilities. Both times were acts of war, but the Ayatollah didn’t punch back. They kept their chill, didn’t react to the provocation, showing incredible (as in I cannot believe it) restraint. Third time, in the middle of talks, we kill the guy who turned the other cheek, along with several other members of the new supreme leader (who was a hard liner even when his father was alive)’s family. And now a Superpower working real hard on “former” is sitting there with a shocked Pikachu face that this guy isn’t as forgiving as the guy Israel told us needed to be blown up.

Honestly, Iran trolling has been so good that I was fully expecting them to add ".... and we request that you return the 'gift' as you are not worthy of such respect"

No way out for Trump now. This is going to be a very long war.

It can be also very short - depends on how fast the USA goes bankrupt.

Message from the IRGC spokeperson in a video for Trump "Don't call your defeat a deal" and "you've come to the point where you're negotiating with yourselves". It also emphasizes that "nothing - neither energy nor stability - will return until the thought of actions against the Iranian people completely disappears from your dirty minds". Separately, the IRGC stated that the US "will not see the previous prices for energy and oil" and that "people like us will never compromise with people like you. Not now. Never".

The U.S. has proven, multiple times, that any agreement they sign is only good until the toddler in chief has his next tantrum. Whether it’s a trade agreement or anything else. Their word is worthless.

Summed up perfectly in one small paragraph.

Nobody except the US President is surprised.

They don’t like to TACO and don’t blame them

Sad_Locksmith_2904 Mar 25, 2026 +1
Well yeah, the USA has used peace negotiations to murder Iranian leaders and we’ve all seen how Israel treats ceasefires as meaning you have to cease firing at them but they can still fire at you

Big-D-TX Mar 25, 2026 +1
Wow! Trump and his Defense Department total lack of Intelligence is truly astounding. Donny will think Twice before listening to Israel again.

Why should Iran want to accept a month long ceasefire? So US and Israel get a chance to stock up on interceptors? Israel is going to look like Gaza when their interceptor stock empties out.

Out of Iran and murica, one is more stable than the other

smalltownlargefry Mar 25, 2026 +1
You’d have to be a moron to believe any of what Trumps been saying to the media about Iran wanting to make a deal. You bombed their country, killed their leader, and multiple military roles in leadership have been killed. Like, come on. Iran has nothing to lose so why would they be the one eyeing for a deal?
1
Kamamura_CZ Mar 25, 2026 +1
You cannot negotiate with terrorists - after rogue states USA and Israel murdered multiple peace delegations and tried to murder the leadership of Iran, no civilized country should negotiate with USA and Israel - sanctions and embargo would be appropriate, if the world was really ruled by some concept of law that applies to everyone in equal measure.

>“Iran does not accept a ceasefire,” that informed source told FARS, according to a translation of the news site’s Telegram page that reported the interview. “Basically, it is not logical to enter into such a process with those who violate the agreement,” the source said. In one week the guy who said this will probably be gone.

Guy legally forbidden from running a charity and black listed by every US Bank (with 90 fraud convictions) when people are able to use past actions to predict future behavior. If only the US electorate possessed such a power.

AdHopeful3801 Mar 25, 2026 +2
But the guy will still be right even if he's killed by the US. Especially if he's killed by the US.
