Read an book about spyware at the state sponsored level. The gist is that when Bush was handing over the office he called for a private meeting with Obama and said we were helping craft a nasty cyber virus. Obama listened and put the program on sterioids. Interesting tid bit. So we have wanted to slow or stop this for a while. I feel like this direction has hastened the future. Somebody is going to drop a nuke in the ME. Reports indicate that the cyber virus designed to attack Iran's nuclear facilities, known as **Stuxnet** (or under the code name **"Olympic Games"**), was initiated under President George W. Bush and significantly accelerated by President Barack Obama. During the presidential transition in early 2009, President Bush advised President Obama to preserve the classified cyber program to avoid taking riskier military actions against Iran.

Except I bet that this time Oracle and palantir are rewarded with rebuilding contracts. Trump is dumb but he has got advisors like Stephen miller and he’s got ~~friends~~ bosses like Larry Ellison and Peter Theil. Those two are building infrastructure all around the world. Let’s not forget, Larry Ellison worked with the CIA in the 70’s— before he moved to China to help censor the tiannmen square massacre and integrate Chinas military, government, and private sectors into one department that oversaw the data of every citizen. With the AI/technology race that is happening between the US and china, I would be willing to bet that ellison and theil and trump are willing to do anything to get American surveillance infrastructure in Iran.

The American team of corrupt developers that are negotiating with Iran need to make sure Iran has the funds to give them for reconstruction and development within Iran.

Hey let's not pretend Iran did not deserve sanctions "returning their own money back to them." The invasion is FLAT WRONG but Iran's government and military are some of the evilest trash on Earth. They sell drones that are directly responsible for 10s of thousands of deaths, Ukraine alone is experiencing this type og death in large scale.

Pitted the management of both casinos to undercut and compete against each other, bankrupting both. Truly amazing how he managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

For more costly, our ability to project power has been diminished globally. The old world agreement was: US gets all the guns and bombs, but protects all sea travel. Europe gets free Healthcare. As it sits, we have already acknowledged we can't protect waterways, or our allies. Also, Iranian tolls will diminish the amount of dollars flowing back into our bonds and markets. They have become the big swinging d*** of the region. Whom everyone will have to pay protection money to, in order to cross the strait. Funny how things change. We've been waging a shadow war against them for longer than I've been alive. Up until the bumbs started falling, they were willing to allow it for the sake of peace. We awoke a sleeping giant and he's not a morning person.
37
OdaNobunaga69 2 days ago +25
Trump's pockets first, America last The US could have free healthcare too, after all they spend more than Europeans for healthcare per capita, it's just that your healthcare is lobbied to oblivion in favor of enriching corporations rather than actually providing useful services
25
ReserveFormal3910 1 day ago +5
> Europe gets free Healthcare. A European style universal healthcare in the US would be cheaper than what we have now. Don't confuse our large military budget is causing us not to have healthcare or universal education through college as well.

The problem in dealing with any of these groups is that every country directly involved in this war is led by people for whom disinformation is a tool of their trade. Impossible to believe anything said by Iran, the US, or Israel, these days.
196
rabidstoat 2 days ago +17
Exactly. Iran said this and everyone seems to believe them. Maybe it's true, maybe it's not. US officials are denying it. Maybe they're telling the truth, maybe they're not. We can only go by actions and not words these days.

I would say that in the past it was mostly spinning the truth, downplaying or not bringing up the negative stuff, over playing the positive stuff, but all of it fit within reality. Yeah, there were straight up lies, but that wasn’t the go-to.  The difference today is the straight up lies are the go-to. None of it fits reality and the story changes within days if not even the same day. Iran is on the same believability level as the United States. *That* is new.

Earlier, a senior Iranian official told Reuters that the U.S. had agreed to unfreeze Tehran's assets frozen in foreign banks as a gesture of goodwill. CBS News noted that three hours after the American delegation arrived in Islamabad, talks with Iran had not yet begun. (Ynet)"

Casual-Speedrunner-7 2 days ago +3
With Pakistani mediation both parties entered negotiations with different ideas, such as whether or not Hezbollah was included in the ceasefire. If you're looking for reliability it's whether or not the assets are released (or to a lesser extent if both parties are in agreement).

Pretty clever. Releasing supervised funds for exclusively humanitarian purposes is a strong show of good faith, and since the money was Iran's originally, it doesn't cost the US anything to do so.
