Complained ad nauseous about returning their own money back to them and having a peace plan only to beg for the same deal 7 years later.

"This is the worst deal ever" "Uh sir, your signature is on the bottom of it" "Thats how I knew it was the worst deal ever!" See: US/Canada trade agreement.

Read an book about spyware at the state sponsored level. The gist is that when Bush was handing over the office he called for a private meeting with Obama and said we were helping craft a nasty cyber virus. Obama listened and put the program on sterioids. Interesting tid bit. So we have wanted to slow or stop this for a while. I feel like this direction has hastened the future. Somebody is going to drop a nuke in the ME. Reports indicate that the cyber virus designed to attack Iran's nuclear facilities, known as **Stuxnet** (or under the code name **"Olympic Games"**), was initiated under President George W. Bush and significantly accelerated by President Barack Obama. During the presidential transition in early 2009, President Bush advised President Obama to preserve the classified cyber program to avoid taking riskier military actions against Iran.

It would be a miracle for him to craft a deal half as good as the JCPOA.

Except I bet that this time Oracle and palantir are rewarded with rebuilding contracts. Trump is dumb but he has got advisors like Stephen miller and he’s got ~~friends~~ bosses like Larry Ellison and Peter Theil. Those two are building infrastructure all around the world. Let’s not forget, Larry Ellison worked with the CIA in the 70’s— before he moved to China to help censor the tiannmen square massacre and integrate Chinas military, government, and private sectors into one department that oversaw the data of every citizen. With the AI/technology race that is happening between the US and china, I would be willing to bet that ellison and theil and trump are willing to do anything to get American surveillance infrastructure in Iran.

The American team of corrupt developers that are negotiating with Iran need to make sure Iran has the funds to give them for reconstruction and development within Iran.
2
lurkANDorganize Apr 11, 2026 +1
Hey let's not pretend Iran did not deserve sanctions "returning their own money back to them." The invasion is FLAT WRONG but Iran's government and military are some of the evilest trash on Earth. They sell drones that are directly responsible for 10s of thousands of deaths, Ukraine alone is experiencing this type og death in large scale.

The best part is how he did it. Had a very successful and profitable c*****. Decided to lever everything to build a second c*****, right next door in the assumption it would double his profits. Pitted the management of both casinos to undercut and compete against each other, bankrupting both. Truly amazing how he managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

youdoitimbusy Apr 11, 2026 +37
For more costly, our ability to project power has been diminished globally. The old world agreement was: US gets all the guns and bombs, but protects all sea travel. Europe gets free Healthcare. As it sits, we have already acknowledged we can't protect waterways, or our allies. Also, Iranian tolls will diminish the amount of dollars flowing back into our bonds and markets. They have become the big swinging d*** of the region. Whom everyone will have to pay protection money to, in order to cross the strait. Funny how things change. We've been waging a shadow war against them for longer than I've been alive. Up until the bumbs started falling, they were willing to allow it for the sake of peace. We awoke a sleeping giant and he's not a morning person.
37
OdaNobunaga69 Apr 11, 2026 +25
Trump's pockets first, America last The US could have free healthcare too, after all they spend more than Europeans for healthcare per capita, it's just that your healthcare is lobbied to oblivion in favor of enriching corporations rather than actually providing useful services
25
ReserveFormal3910 Apr 11, 2026 +5
> Europe gets free Healthcare. A European style universal healthcare in the US would be cheaper than what we have now. Don't confuse our large military budget is causing us not to have healthcare or universal education through college as well.
5
Ok-Assistant4338 Apr 11, 2026 +10
For what it’s worth US officials are denying it. Let’s just let this play out. We’re all too quick to gobble up propaganda from both sides
10
Kaffe-Mumriken Apr 11, 2026 +1
I mean f*** no wonder MAGA tries to think of 4D games behind his actions. I can’t reconcile all this mess? WHY? What was the point? What’s the real reason? EP Files? Then Malignia comes out and starts that shit again? What the f***
1
Sweet_Concept2211 Apr 11, 2026 +196
The problem in dealing with any of these groups is that every country directly involved in this war is led by people for whom disinformation is a tool of their trade. Impossible to believe anything said by Iran, the US, or Israel, these days.
196
rabidstoat Apr 11, 2026 +17
Exactly. Iran said this and everyone seems to believe them. Maybe it's true, maybe it's not. US officials are denying it. Maybe they're telling the truth, maybe they're not. We can only go by actions and not words these days.
17
VanguardDeezNuts Apr 11, 2026 +13
Don't forget, in addition to the three you mentioned, the negotiations are being run by - of all the countries in the world - Pakistan. Literally impossible to believe any of the parties involved.
13
Dnabb8436 Apr 11, 2026 +35
You know that's like always been a major thing countries use? Now we just have bots everywhere spewing shit that people automatically believe. It used to be a more nuanced
35
UnoriginalStanger Apr 11, 2026 +8
> It used to be a more nuanced It's been a long while since it was more nuanced but it at the very least used to be a little bit less stupid.
8

Very fair. Now its just spam bull shit that a normal person wouldn't believe but they are so inundated with it that it gets confusing. I cant name a trust worthy news source anymore. Its just different degrees of bullshit
3
ARazorbacks Apr 11, 2026 +4
I would say that in the past it was mostly spinning the truth, downplaying or not bringing up the negative stuff, over playing the positive stuff, but all of it fit within reality. Yeah, there were straight up lies, but that wasn’t the go-to.  The difference today is the straight up lies are the go-to. None of it fits reality and the story changes within days if not even the same day. Iran is on the same believability level as the United States. *That* is new.
4

This is the exact kind of thing I read so many conservatives bitching about when Obama negotiated a deal with them and yet in that instance, they were completely misleading or fabricated lies. Here we are not with a dip shit who's actually going to just give them everything they want including raising sanctions and freeing up valuable assets and you'll never hear a peep about it from those same conservatives....
9
Royal-Hunter3892 Apr 11, 2026 +30
At this point US might even allow Iran to collect the toll on the condition that the toll should be collected only in US dollars . We might see a TollDollar deal like petrodollar . Dollar should keep recycling.
30
bigdaddtcane Apr 11, 2026 +14
Don’t be a fool. It’ll be collected in Trump coins.
14
binzoma Apr 11, 2026 +5
thatd be one of the f****** dumbest most short sighted decisions in modern human history so its def possible with trump but ending global trade would be a catestrophic l. if iran can toll that straight, egpt, panama, china will be *birdman rubbing hands* the taiwan invasion to allow full chinese control of asian trade would happen in weeks. the closing of the panama canal right behind it
5
amadmongoose Apr 11, 2026 +2
Tbf panama and suez already have tolls, it's gibraltar, straight of malacca, taiwan straight, magellan passage etc that might make things complicated

8
ZeroZeroZe77e7e Apr 11, 2026 +17
Here’s the “US sources say” version: https://www.ynetnews.com/article/nn5sso56p# "Senior US Official: We Have Not Agreed to Release Iran's Frozen Assets The United States has not agreed to release Iran's frozen assets, a senior U.S. official told CBS News. Earlier, a senior Iranian official told Reuters that the U.S. had agreed to unfreeze Tehran's assets frozen in foreign banks as a gesture of goodwill. CBS News noted that three hours after the American delegation arrived in Islamabad, talks with Iran had not yet begun. (Ynet)"
17
Casual-Speedrunner-7 Apr 11, 2026 +3
With Pakistani mediation both parties entered negotiations with different ideas, such as whether or not Hezbollah was included in the ceasefire. If you're looking for reliability it's whether or not the assets are released (or to a lesser extent if both parties are in agreement).
3

3

I so want to see Obama personally give a public talk that summarizes all of the things that were in his deal that Trump ended and has now lost in this corrupt war.

5
Jemmani22 Apr 11, 2026 +5
So let me get this strait(lol) Obama had a deal where we slowly released assets in exchange for nukes not being build. Trump ends it as a "bad" deal, starts a war. Kills people. Causes worldwide oil turmoil. Gives Iran a reason to tax oil moving in the region. All to make peace by releasing assets? This guy may actually be about 75 IQ

>U.S. officials said at that time that the money was restricted to humanitarian use only, to be disbursed to approved vendors for food, medicine, medical equipment and agricultural goods shipped into Iran under U.S. Treasury oversight. Pretty clever. Releasing supervised funds for exclusively humanitarian purposes is a strong show of good faith, and since the money was Iran's originally, it doesn't cost the US anything to do so.
