The talks in Oman were Sunday? Anyone know if he actually made it to Islamabad? If he's talking to only Oman and Moscow at this point I would take this to be a negative development.

Yes and yes! Oman was Sunday morning, and he did loop back to Islamabad before Moscow. He called Qatar and Saudi Arabia on Sunday too. Iran wants the blockade lifted first, Trump canceled Witkoff/Kushner’s trip after the FM left Islamabad.

> Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi held talks in Oman on Sunday and discussed security in the Strait of Hormuz and broader Gulf waters and diplomatic efforts to end the Iran-U.S. conflict, according to an Iranian foreign ministry statement.
> In talks in Muscat with Oman's Sultan Haitham bin Tariq al-Said, Araqchi said the U.S. military presence in the Middle East was fuelling insecurity and division and called for a regional security framework free of outside interference.

Man, if the end result of the US bombing Iran is the US losing military bases as part of the condition for making it stop that’s going to be the greatest geopolitical own goal since (checks notes) well all of this year and all of last year actually.
It won’t be though, this is Iran asking for the moon as a starting point to negotiations.

This will be close to asking Russia to give up Crimea (well, Crimea is even more existential for Russia, but close still), there is absolutely no chance of that happening. Theres not even any bombings at the moment.

Not gonna happen. All of Iran’s neighbors are on the US’s side especially after being attacked.

Weren't they only attacked because their ally the US attacked Iran at behest of Israel (not their ally) and with no advanced notice?

No, they were attacked because the Iranian regime is unhinged and should never be allowed to have nukes. They’ve wanted Iran dealt with for years.

The US and Israel has attacked Iran multiple times recently. Those countries allowed US military resources to use their country to stage operations. They are viable military targets in a war. Perhaps they should work with Iran instead of trying to change the regime through force.

Iran has attacked Israel and the US for 47 years. They’ve been a threat to the entire region that entire time, including those countries with bases. Why do you think they let the US have them? 😂
They can’t be “worked with”. Learn some history.

When did Iran attack the US unprovoked. I recall the US meddling in their internal political affairs as far back as the 50s when we overthrew their govt. The US is imperial and forces its will on other countries through economic sanctions and military force. Similar the Vietnam it is not working out so well this time. The US should leave and remove our military bases as well.
Let that area solve their own problems and we should focus on healthcare for our own citizens not trying to be the world police.

Yeah there was a deal, then Mango Mussolini decided he didn't like it because his signature wasn't on it, and got out of it. Now he wants a deal and can't get one because why would anyone trust him.
