Is DTF ST. LOUIS, ROOSTER, and THE COMEBACK the least hype HBO Sunday night line-up ever?

Mid-30s crowd getting left out of this golden age talk I guess. Been watching HBO since back when they'd just replay the same 3 movies all month and I'm still not sold on this lineup. The Comeback was solid but these other shows feel like they're trying too hard to capture something that's already gone. Maybe I'm just getting old but give me a good crime drama over whatever DTF is supposed to be.

Second season feels a little rushed, though still excellent. Maybe it'll get moved to Sunday next year.

Too soon to say. Rooster and DTF have gotten solid reviews and I think they could grow in popularity with time.

I honestly wonder if the DTF name is really working to its disadvantage lol Jason Bateman-led crime drama by show runner who did Patriot is enough to sell me but I was mentioning the show to my mom and she was like “what does DTF mean?” Ahaha or even mentioning it to a coworker is iffy

It did for me! Knew next to nothing about this show and assumed it was a romantic comedy/drama…two married guys on a dating app, the girl from “Freaks and Geeks”, hilarity/drama ensues. Glad I watched it and thought it was very well done.

Oh f***, Conrad did this? Well I guess it's time to dive in.

Steven Conrad and poorly naming shows. A tale as old as time. Patriot's name was too reminiscent of a similarly titled movie and Perpetual Grace's name was a mouthful.

Dtf is great what you mean

I'm not saying it's bad. I like it. But, like, TV podcasts aren't covering any of these shows, and they almost always prioritize HBO shows. There's no hype.

So many great shows don't get watched by many people in their original run. I can see DTF St Louis building a bug audience in years to come. It's a tremendous show and the cast is phenomenonal

I've never heard of The Baby but Barry and Time Traveler's Wife were very hyped.

My Brilliant Friend is the best HBO show of the last decade.

I was down with DTF - great show. Initially thought Rooster was trash but I don’t turn it off. I like carrell, it’s mid - dumb, but tolerable for background entertainment. I absolutely refuse to watch The Comeback. I detest Lisa kudrow, another middle-aged woman/ comedian trying to figure it out - a sitcom - F no. I’ll pass. I just wait until Monday to watch Oliver now. They really have ruined what was once the best night of TV. Fear it will only get worse. Waiting for Euphoria to start.

Not sure if you meant it this way but “another middle-aged woman/comedian trying to figure it out - a sitcom - F no” comes across really misogynistic. Does her gender factor into your disdain somehow? Not sure why you felt the need to mention it. If it’s not your cup of tea then of course you absolutely shouldn’t waste your time on it. It is however one of the most highly rated shows out right now for what it’s worth. I donno… if it was me in your shoes, I’d be at least intrigued enough to check out the hype (assuming you haven’t seen it at all). But yea like I said, to each their own, if you’re not into Kudrow’s personality or comic style, move on. Just figured you’d want to know how you sound when you make certain kinds of statements. No judgments here my friend.
