Is it just me or do people in movies and TV look ugly?

Posted by baitname

As the title states, does no one try to look any level of appealing or "good"? Why do some people look inherently ugly? I understand you're trying to play the bad guy but please, can you look average? Its one thing to act in a way to be disliked but when the "good guys' and hero cast acts in a way that is so stupid and looks ugly to top it off, on top of a sub par plot, its the most frustrating thing in the world to me Why is modern cinema and TV so bad in this regard? White house down - ~2013, the main bad guy, the kid, and the supporting secretary look so ugly and are played in a way anyone with basic thinking would hate these characters, Its one thing if you're attractive and are less intelligent, but how can you less intelligent AND ugly?

Isn't it the production? The truth is that I liked the movies of before more.

It's the current trend/new normal. Like describing overweight people as "healthy." People complained about attractive people setting "unrealistic expectations" so now the entertainment industry feels like they need to go the opposite route. TV commercials are probably the best example... Good luck finding an attractive person in a commercial anymore.
