Is it normal to feel this happy about someone that it affects your sleep?

Posted by Charleslecpierre

I met this guy on the metro last month and we exchanged numbers, and ever since we started talking, I just feel inherently happy and… complete. But I’ve also been staying up late because of it, and recently my mother and sister told me I literally laugh in my sleep, like proper giggling and uncontrollable laughter 😭 I don’t even remember the dream. Is this normal when you really like someone or am I losing it?

Honestly that's pretty adorable. Enjoy it while it lasts because that new relationship energy is something else. The laughing in your sleep thing is hilarious though.

Absolutely. The new relationship excitement is the best. It’s that feeling of seeing their name pop up on your phone and smiling every time you see it.

sounds like you're just head over heels for him, which is totally normal! just make sure you’re still getting some sleep or you might be a bit of a mess in the morning.

Night lover huh. I remember being like that. I wouldn't be able to sleep without hearing them say good night. I miss those times. If I was back in those days, maybe I wouldn't be alone.

You’ve got the tingles. Totally the best part of dating and meeting someone new. I’m very excited for you.

I think it's normal. When a certain colleague walked into work I'd become happy or if I walked into work and saw her. I'd question this feeling thinking I had a crush on her but that didn't add up. Or maybe it did but I just was happy around them and thinking about them. So I think it's normal. But in a rare sense of way if that makes sense?

When my last relationship was brand new, I had to wait to sleep until they said they were goiing to bed for me to go to bed. That goodnight text always hit.

OMG that's adorable!  Sounds like you've found your person, for real.  Don't worry about the sleep giggles, your brain is just processing all the good vibes.  Just make sure you're still getting enough sleep, don't want to be a sleep-laughing zombie!
