Is there any good movie that ends with a bang?

Posted by LargeSinkholesInNYC

Is there any good movie that ends with a bang? I really like the ones with a really shocking ending. I don't care too much about the quality of the movie. It just needs to be a movie that's not completely terrible, and that has been watched by a good number of people. Like, ideally, it has to be a film that has been widely watched or talked about.

When the director was asked about a sequel he said "have you seen the ending of my movie!"
28
mudokin Mar 29, 2026 +5
Yes, so what about a sequel

CakeMadeOfHam Mar 29, 2026 +3
They could take the concept and turn it into a series where every episode is a short movie set in a different country. And use that to explore different horror genres and folk tales from around the world. I also think 13 Ghosts would make a banger mini-series where each episode is about them catching one of the ghosts.

There's no way no one's mentioned this, but one of the greatest movie endings of all time is the final scene of "White Heat" starring James Cagney. The main character, played by Cagney, has been cornered by police and has retreated up atop an old oil or gasoline container, when the scene [starts](https://youtu.be/OjzKiEs_pHI?si=FcxdsyxwV_QGNLn8)... ...then at the very end we get one of the greatest lines in movie history as Cagney screams out, "Made it Ma! Top of the World!" Then *BOOM!* Its such a great flick, you gotta watch the clip. I hate to spoil the ending, but seeing as its almost 75 years old I presume that if anyone wanted to see it they would have done so by now.

The Others Before I Wake (honestly, not scary and plot a bit meh in points, but the ending is one of the best twist endings I've seen) The Sinner (not a movie, but a great TV show. Season 3 was bad, but the others were good 4 being my fave) True Detective, season 1 being one of the best shows I've ever seen.
