Love how few upvotes this has.
This is historic, but Listnook hates that both governments support getting rid of the terrorist organization Hezbollah that has been attacking both

Why is everyone so negative? It's like they are addicted to hating Israel and this threatens their supply of rage. Imma be autistic, but people are weird.

As a US citizen here is my problem... if everything happening right now results in a more peaceful Middle East, that is great for the people who live there and I am happy for them. The problem is that the USA is still fucked on a global stage, no one is actually going to give Trump credit other than his base because it's not his credit. It's like giving Hitler credit for banding together the Allied powers, sure that was good that the countries formed ties but it was because of 1 fuckhead ruining the world for everyone else. The USA will still be seen as untrustworthy and unpredictable by so many countries we used to be allies with. The USA loses no matter what happens, we can just lose even worse if peace fails. Creating chaos so others have to react to it does not make people like you, they may end up better off but they will still despise you for the chaos

What's the point?
Israel: We will need that extra land there
Lebanon: No, that is our land and has been for thousands of years
Israel: More bombs for your civilians then

If there is peace and Hezbollah is disarmed, there won't be need for expanded border area, it's not like someone is living there/ making a profit out of it - Israel spend a lot of money to hold such area. Israel already controlled this part of Lebanon and withdrawed in the past, and no Israelis settled there

Israel has peace deals with Egypt and Jordan. Why do you think it wouldn’t work with Lebanon? Your bias is showing.
If a country wants peace with Israel, there is peace.

Most people very little understanding of the history of this region. Or even its geography. If you showed them a map of Israel and asked them to point to the West Bank, most would point to the wrong side.

Because both Jordan’s and Egypt have control on their land and frankly Lebanon government is too weak and fragmented.

You know Lebanon became a country in the 1940’s, only a few years before Israel.

Israel would happily leave Lebanese territory alone and in the hands of the Lebanese government. The issue is that the Lebanese government doesn't even control this territory, Hezbollah does. That's what they're meeting to talk about.

How is Lebanon even at the table? They couldn't suppress insurgents firing into neighboring countries on their own soil.
