"Keep your rocket launchers away from our towns". Not a single alarm in the north in the past few days, I'd say it's working.

Yep, until Hezbollah dummies launch rockets again. Every time they do this they lose more territory.

Issuing official 'stay out' warnings for neighborhoods that have already been pulverized into gravel is a wildly dystopian level of irony. Like, stay out of what exactly?

the only place they have to go

Appealing_Apathy Apr 20, 2026 +23
Terrorist state occupying territory that isn't theirs and they wonder why groups keep trying to attack them...

Ultra_Metal Apr 20, 2026 +33
Hezbollah has been illegally occupying southern Lebanon and northeast Lebanon for decades and using that territory to launch rockets at Israeli civilians, in violation of international law.

Appealing_Apathy Apr 20, 2026 +2
Bombing civillian infrastructure and destroying homes is also a war crime. Hezbollah sucks, but Israel does significantly more damage and kills a lot more innocents.

Ultra_Metal Apr 21, 2026 +8
Hezbollah uses civilian infrastructure for military purposes, which mans that infrastructure loses its protection under international law. Israel did not commit any war crimes. Hezbollah committed war crimes by using civilian buildings for military purposes.

Water treatment plants can be used for military purposes? Entire towns flattened? Sure if it were targeted strikes based on sound intel but just levelling entire towns because there may have been some Hezbollah terrorists in a some of the buildings is most definitely a war crime.

Everything you said is false.

Al Jazeera is not a credible source. It is notoriously unreliable and incredibly biased.
-2
yanocupominomb Apr 20, 2026 -1
And what will be the excuse when they just annex those territories?
-1
HarEr89 Apr 20, 2026 +29
Nonsense, because the new invasion was launched because Hezbollah started the rocket attacks again. Lebanon government wants to get rid of Hezbollah too.
29
Appealing_Apathy Apr 20, 2026 -1
Well with that logic, Hezbollah started launching attacks because Israel started bombing their ally Iran.

PeksyTiger Apr 20, 2026 -9
No but israel is holding like 40 squared km of contested territory! surely it's worth widespread death and destruction to get that back, instead of like, negotiating and stuff? /s
-9
HeatproofArmin Apr 20, 2026 -3
Hezbollah join because of ceasefire violations and not because of Khamenei was killed /s

EquivalentOne241 Apr 21, 2026 +4
Weren't Hezbollah suppose to go behind Litani river as per previous ceasefire agreement? You don't get to play cute when you don't abide by your side of the agreement. If Hezbollah is not in South Lebanon, Israel will have no purpose of invading it.
4
HeatproofArmin Apr 21, 2026 +4
They weren't behind the Latani River. That is a fact and the government failed to disarm the south because they were unable/unwilling to do it.

EquivalentOne241 Apr 21, 2026 +1
I agree. I think I missed /s earlier.

faffc260 Apr 20, 2026 +15
but we've seen groups who stop attacking them (jordan, egypt) don't get invaded and their land siezed as a defensive buffer, so maybe lebanon and hezbollah should seek a peace agreement and not break it like they did this time which lead to their current occupation? oh wait, hezbollah is an iranian proxy whose state ambition is the destruction of the israeli state since it's inception, no peace to be made.

Israel is liberating southern Lebanon from Iranian invaders. No new missiles have been launched back at Israel from Hezbollah. So that must mean that this plan is actually working. Lebanon can move back in once the terrorists are dealt with. This is what happens when you can’t control your “own” people. Someone else will come in and do it instead.
6
Appealing_Apathy Apr 20, 2026 +2
There are no Iranians in southern Iran... So Lebanon not being able to control a rogue group gives Israel carte blanche to destry homes and civillian infrastructure? Israel is not going to let civilians back in.
2
Jugaimo Apr 20, 2026 +5
Yes, it absolutely does give Israel free rein to make Israel safe. Lebanon’s south has been entirely taken over by terrorists who use captive and willing human shields to cover their tracks. Israel has decimated southern Lebanon to prevent short-range missiles from reaching Israel. You need only look now. Southern Lebanon has been flattened and zero missiles have come from the land. The operation has been a huge success. Israel is entirely justified in doing this because their only concern is the safety of their citizens. If Lebanon cannot keep its borders in check, then that means that someone else must instead. I would expect precisely the same behavior from any other border if the circumstances were the same. You cannot let terrorists fire thousands of rockets at a sovereign state and not expect Israel to take preventative action. Lebanon is GUILTY in this conflict, either through willing cooperation or unwilling ineptitude. But either answer is not acceptable. This is also why Israel is justified in holding the Golan Heights. Syria launched thousands of rockets from those mountains, so Israel pushed their military out of that land and forbade them from building there. Israel is justified in preventing these foreign entities from attacking Israel’s citizens.

So what if the Lebanese citizens who's ancestor's homes were taken by the Israeli Colonial state decided they have a right to take back parts of Israel and start settlements. Then when the Israelis attack them they would have a right to destroy half of Israel because they were attacked first? Israel has stolen massive amounts of land and never should have been created in the first place. It is a colonial state.

Jugaimo Apr 20, 2026 +4
What do you want me to respond to? Because you’re just kinda ranting here.
4
EquivalentOne241 Apr 20, 2026 -9
You're lying. Hezbollah fired the rockets first. Israel is responding to Hezbollah rockets and threat to their northern towns.
-9
BritishAnimator Apr 20, 2026 -16
What lie was told? I think a fact was stated regardless who fired first.
-16
EquivalentOne241 Apr 21, 2026 +3
You don't start a war and then complain when other party occupies your land in response.
3
CreepinCreepy Apr 20, 2026 -14
Funny you say that since that's pretty much exactly what Hezbollah has been doing. Albeit they are the ones to initiate the attacks, not the other way round.

Mindless-Peak-1687 Apr 20, 2026 -14
Two wrongs do not make one right.
-14
Jugaimo Apr 20, 2026 +12
Less rockets from Hezbollah means less rockets from Israel. This is how peace is made when one side refuses to negotiate or concede. You have to grab them and force them into submission.
12
Ultra_Metal Apr 20, 2026 +9
This is all the fault of Hezbollah, who used that territory to attack Israeli civilians repeatedly, in violation of international law. Israel was forced to react in self defense to stop the missile attacks that were being launched from southern Lebanon.

Good. Keep going.
