With what? >the Israeli military has **suspended the Netzah Yehuda battalion** from its current deployment. Oh, nice, a free vacation. Very cool, Israel. Top Accountability. Most accountable military in the world!! /s edit: AP coming up with that headline is basically journalistic malpractice.

Almost tops Reuters initially whitewashing Israel's murder of their own journalists last year. Which Reuters literally caught on camera. Worse is that these things happen habitually and yet there is always this reset back to default that will happen where the next warcrime/atrocity the IDF commits will be given endless charitability until Israel fully proves otherwise.

Why does everyone seem so willing to spread their cheeks for Israel these days? Most people aren't felonious compromised pedophiles-what gives?

OrganicOverdose Apr 1, 2026 +1
The deeper you look, the more you begin to see just how much the politics of Israel and the politically powerful groups within that society run things like a mafia. Threats, blackmail, bribes, racketeering, indoctrination, all for "the Family".

Yeah, someone in another post was lauding this as Israel being accountable, lol

Th1rte3n1334 Mar 30, 2026 +43
Lmfao, “being held accountable,” what a joke. It’s not even holding the people in this unit accountable. A suspension when they have them on camera saying that this whole incident was motivated by revenge. At the very least expulsion from the military and everything stripped from them would be more appropriate. When soldiers are basing their actions on revenge nothing good can come from this type of behavior.

They literally passed a law allowing the execution of Palestinians today.

toddlangtry Mar 30, 2026 +14
"from it's current deployment", probably being tasked with just killing Palestinian children now rather than children and journalists.

The Netzah Yehuda battalion is also notorious for human rights violations. This is the battalion that the Biden admin was going to sanction before they walked it back after Israeli pushback.
2
Diplomatic-Immunityi Mar 31, 2026 +1
They just passed a law that Israel must execute anyone they consider a terrorist within 90 days as long as they are non-Jews.  Guess who is looking for a new assignment to guard the death camps?

I see the world is waking up, when I was commenting a few months ago, they said you are KHAMAS and Antisemitic, but I hope now everyone understands that Israeli Goverment is the new Nazi 2.0.

By punishment they meant "gave them time off".

For context: the crew wasn't Palestinian. That means that attacking the crew is actually considered a crime for the Israelis. Had the crew been Palestinian this case would still be "totally under investigation trust us"

QuantumModulus Mar 30, 2026 +66
Not one mention of the soldiers filmed raping a prisoner who have become B-tier celebrities on Israeli TV and lifted up by the regime. If you're gonna talk about "a rare case of punishment", maybe highlight the fact that the Israeli status-quo currently means *delighting* in brutality.

Punish by letting them continue genociding?
18
theuncleiroh Mar 30, 2026 +6
No, by not letting them. To a zionist, not being allowed to murder children and journalists is among the most impactful punishments (only comparable to not being allowed to take pictures in the lingerie of the women who you just killed)

Kushwayne Mar 30, 2026 +23
The same unit was responsible for numerous rapes and human rights violations, but got off free without punishment. The US recognized they had committed crimes but continued supplying them in 2024. This is theater, not punishment.

Longjumping-Age753 Mar 30, 2026 +10
Damn, this is going to hit them hard. How would an IDF soldier live a day without murdering helpless Arab children and women?

> Looks inside > Suspension So a vacation.  F*** you, Israel. That's not a punishment for these prices, and you damn well know it.
11
crymachine Mar 30, 2026 +7
Well the military protested for their right to r*** prisoners, so I'm sure this will go over smoothly as well; unless fighting an actual war against trained adults instead of committing genocide against starving children has broken down their sense of strength.

There punishment is additional training on how not to get caught next time
5

This is actually what they got in trouble for. Don't let them videotape your war crimes idiots
3
Lower_Excuse_8693 Mar 30, 2026 +4
To translate the “punishment” into American military jargon: “They need to do CBTs”. To translate it into Canadian Armed Forces jargon: “We’re getting more DLN c***.” To translate it into civilian: “They have to complete some remedial training to make sure they don’t get caught next time.”
4
Thirpyn Mar 30, 2026 +4
Only because they were caught doing so, not because of the action itself.

The Israeli military has had VERY poor accountability and professionalism ever since the October Gaza incident. Used to be a good bit better than it has been for the past nearly 3 years. Its degraded since Ariel Sharon took power in the 2000s, and racism and ignoring racism has crept far more into "acceptable" behavior with what has felt like a growing enmity between the Israelis and Palestinians in those decades. In 2000 while they often didn't get along, a lot of them worked together and were more tolerant of each other but that has ceased to exist. Feels like a huge chunk of both populations don't even see the others as human anymore. 25 years of violence and closed borders have severed shared ties. In 2000, it felt like maybe a deal could eventually be worked out. Now? it feels like it will never happen.

Drak_is_Right Mar 31, 2026 +1
The declining prosecution of illegal behaviors by soldiers. Used to be they would crack down hard on a soldier that did that. Now? they ignore it. The past 3 years they seem to ignore nearly anything their soldiers do.

The punishment is akin to calling your kid back inside the house after they beat up the neighbor's kid.
