I take it you don’t actually follow the news or how bunker busters work. They were “obliterated” according to trump but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing left of them. Trump has said multiple times that the material could be accessed with the right excavation crew. Bunker busters just blow up the entrances and exits to keep people from being able to access them. It’s a major delay for their unclear program but that doesn’t mean everything is entirely destroyed. Continuing to strike them while the air is clear is a good thing. You can’t destroy a bunker like that with one drop (midnight hammer), but you can when you can drop bomb after bomb on it with impunity. This is exactly what they should be doing. Entirely destroy the entire site, then claim victory (nuclear sites have been destroyed), get out of there, and hopefully Iranians (with some secretly implanted insurgents more than likely) overthrow their now very fractured government.

The US has bombed countries from afar on many occasions. Israel has hit Iran specifically several times in the past 10 years. The answer from Iran is drone attacks and other minor skirmishes. It becomes a "warm war" - neither sustained combat nor quiet geopolitical animosity. But in that case people don't think of it as a real war. When they targeted and killed military and civilian leadership, it's no longer a military exercise to contain Iran's nuclear capabilities. It's a death struggle. Countries don't shake that off and make peace easily.

Nobody credible said Iran was peaceful. Obama and Hillary both said Iran is a threat and it would take consistent global pressure to keep them from developing nuclear weapons. As a direct result of Trump backing out, Iran accelerated it's program and Israel said we must attack now. They knew that Trump would be hamstrung next year with a Democratic House and perhaps Senate, too.
