Israeli settlers shot schoolchildren and demolished a school in the West Bank only a few weeks ago.
[https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/may/02/israeli-militants-attack-west-bank-schools-settler-violence](https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/may/02/israeli-militants-attack-west-bank-schools-settler-violence)
No Israelis have been charged for the murder of a Palestinian civilian in the West Bank since 2020, despite over a 1000 having been killed.
The difference here is that Western media and politicians won't ignore attacks on identifiable Christians and that strains Israel's international relations, but they are happy to turn a blind eye in all other cases.

If West turns away from Israel, expect Israel to offer cooperation to Russia and China on quite attractive conditions. Israel has a lot to offer in terms of technology and knowledge, especially in fields of intelligence and Western secrets. It also is a convenient geographic spot for power projection. The West did a big mistake by helping Israel to grow into what it is today without enforcing stricter moral boundaries and creating safeguards related to them.

It’s actually not obtuse, considering that the person who originally commented it gave a different answer from what you stated.
Edit: Lmao, so now you resort to “Zionist” as if it’s some sort of “gotcha.”
Not surprising that your post history revolves around Kanye, anime, manga, video games, the supposed evils of capitalism, and referring to a war with an *unprecedentedly low civilian:combatant death ratio* (compared to any other urban war) as a “genocide” lmao.

Let’s see if I have it right:
(1) You say I’m a Zionist.
(2) You also agree with the assertion that Zionists would/will “call the camera anti-Semitic.”
How do you reconcile the fact that I am saying that nothing about this footage (or, more importantly, the reporting and prosecution of this crime) is anti-Semitic (which, in fact, should be punished extremely harshly because it’s not only assault but an unprovoked, bias-motivated assault with significant injuries)?
Edit: They did not give the same answer as you.
They said “Israelis and Zionists”; they’re not interchangeable, actually, and never have been.

Prosecuting and convicting a man for an assault of a defenseless woman (with overwhelming evidence which was captured on camera plain as day) isn’t even “criticism of Israel/Zionism,” nor does that prosecution/conviction harm Israel or Zionism’s “public image” (if anything, from that point of view, it would be a positive step in showing that they attempt to uphold the law).
You can’t even articulate a reason why “Israelis and Zionists” would WANT to attack/de-legitimize a prosecution/conviction of this assault (let alone the existence of the camera/footage that made it possible).
You’re not even trying to be serious, dude.
You’re being extremely hyperbolic and trying to apply a trope about “calling criticism of the government anti-Semitism,” which doesn’t even make sense here because a camera/footage isn’t “criticizing” anything, it’s just a camera/footage.

How does this dude assaulting this woman even potentially risk implicating “the IDF, Israeli government, and Zionist settlers,” in the eyes of Israelis or Zionists, though?
He’s none of the above, he’s an individual random, useless piece of shit (akin to a KKK member in the U.S.).
Nobody in their right minds thinks that that reflects on the Israeli government or Israeli nation as a whole (any more than a Klan member represents the American government or the American people as a whole), so why would anybody who is pro-Israel/pro-Zionism even feel a need to try to defend this dickhead?
How can a camera, unaltered footage, or prosecution for an individual citizen assaulting someone be deemed a threat to the image of Israel/Zionism when this is merely *a guy* who did something fucked up?

Settler?? That's a fine way to rename invader/occupier/terrorist.
23
Shelala853 days ago
-3
That’s not s renaming that’s a definition of the word settler.
Settler is a term used to describe people participating in a settler colonization project. In settler colonization the settlers “come to stay” and involves the replacement of the native population with outside settlers. This is carried out though acts such violence, confiscation of land, the use of unjust legal and legislative systems that favour the settler over the native, and even the absorption of the native population into the settler society. All this is required to turn the settler, not the native, into the “rightful inhabitants”. It is a “structure, not an event” and is therefore not ended after the first wave of settlers but is instead multi-generational in nature.
The term settler can be seen in use in the academic study of settler colonial societies/states, contemporary Indigenous/ally resistance to the ongoing settler colonization projects, and, in Canada at least, in court ruling relating to Aboriginal land title.
Finally the creator of the concept of genocide, Raphael Lemkin, made the connection between settler colonization and genocide. In the genocide chapter of his 1944 book Axis Rule in Occupied Europe he wrote:
> Genocide has two phases: one, destruction of the national pattern of the oppressed group; the other, the imposition of the national pattern of the oppressor. This imposition, in turn, may be made upon the oppressed population which is allowed to remain or upon the territory alone, after removal of the population and the colonization by the oppressor's own nationals.
