Love that Israel bots still downvoting evidence of this : https://www.ohchr.org/en/press-releases/2025/03/more-human-can-bear-israels-systematic-use-sexual-reproductive-and-other Edit. They are still at it 2 hours later.

Destroying Christian statues may anger all the American Christians who rabidly support Israel. They can't take that risk. American Christians are fine with r***, torture and murder though, as long as it's done to brown people.

Or for the gratification of the elite

In this instance I'm guessing you think 'brown people' is just Arabs and not also people in Israel who have lived in the same area for the same amount of time and have the same skin tone.

Academic_Net6298 2 days ago +1
Ironic considering that most people in Israel are brown. Never lets facts get in the way of your narrative I guess.

If that was a Palestinian man instead of a Jesus statue they would be “operating in self defense against a terrorisf”

You're telling me they could not find any evidence in a prison environment that has cameras and access control restrictions because they had masks on? Didn't know the soldiers took lessons from Epstein.

They weren't convicted because the case never saw a courtroom due to political pressure from the far right. Frankly, that's disgusting. It's hard to get people to understand why Israel is an important place of sanctuary for people while atrocities like these go unpunished, and a significantly less serious crime against a statue does not. It's bad in so many ways: it fails to discourage similar behaviour in others, it corrodes Israel's image around the world, it's fundamentally wrong and immoral, even setting aside the many ways it's not pragmatic. Every time the Israel far right is appeased, Israel inches closer to being the caricature that it's being painted as.

30 days? aint much of a punishment... still better than nothing compared to some of the other cases

Useful_Secret4895 3 days ago +6
Netanyahu saying he was "shocked by the incident" and the soldiers getting "punished" with 30 days of jail, is a clear mockery.

Well considering that it's the only country of the middle east where the christian population is growing instead of shrinking due to persecution, I'll take the "pretend to respect" then rather than the "true respect" of other countries.

eskimolimun 4 days ago +10
If you always pretend doesnt it mean you respect it?

Pjpjpjpjpj 3 days ago -3
If I pretend that I didn’t shoot you, have you been shot or not? If I pretend that I didn’t burn down your home, has it been burned down? Pretend: “To claim or allege insincerely or falsely.  To give a false appearance of; feign” Claiming falsely (pretending) to respect Christianity can absolutely happen simultaneously with actions against Christians.

Israel punishes soldiers who commit crimes. Israel's enemies, on the other hand, reward their troops when they commit crimes.

Is that why the IDF soldier who, on tape, raped a refugee has been making bank and paraded all over their media as a hero? Sit down.

There is no tape. You lied.

Palestine

The country didn’t riot, the national religious did, they are only about 10% of the population

Wait, I don't remember hearing about the soldiers recently caught on video dropping a Palestinian kid head first off a building getting punished. But this soldier who destroyed the statue of a doctor gets punished?
-3
Academic_Net6298 2 days ago
Because that video wasn’t [recent and didn’t involve a Palestinian kid](https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/israel-investigates-after-videos-show-soldiers-pushing-bodies-off-west-bank-roof-2024-09-20/). It was a dead Palestinian adult militant killed in a firefight almost 2 years ago. Never let facts get in the way of your narrative I guess

Netanyahu: "Unfortunately and unhappily, Jesus Christ has no advantage over Genghis Khan. Because if you are strong enough, ruthless enough, powerful enough, evil will overcome good" They have no love of Jesus. They spit at or near Christians. These soldiers got a slap on the wrist and are probably praised out of the spotlight. Their "punishment" is purely a publicity stunt.
-20
Lpreddit 4 days ago +21
You read that quote and thought it was against Jesus? Damn, reading comprehension has gotten bad. He said it was unfortunate that Genghis Khan (evil) could triumph of Jesus (good) if it’s based on ruthless power.

HandofWinter 4 days ago +16
How on earth can you read that line and get an anti-Christian message out of it?
16
threeme2189 4 days ago +8
They got sentenced to 30 days in prison and were immediately removed from their combat roles. That's way more than a slap on the wrist. American cops get less severe punishment for murdering people.
