Ali Shaeb was not a "journalist", he was a Hezbollah spokesperson and Hezbollah intelligence operative. He was documented many time confronting IDF soldiers (long before this war) and creating provocations and propaganda towards violent action.
Since he died he was eulogised by Hezbollah, Hamas, Iran and others. That ain't no CNN...

Just keep this in mind - [https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/al-manar/](https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/al-manar/)
"**Overall, we rate Al Manar Questionable based on excessive political party control that results in the publication of pro-Hezbollah propaganda, poor sourcing, and designation as a terrorist and hate group. We also rate them Mixed for factual reporting due to the omission of key facts in stories and a failed fact check.**"
Reuters is using Al Manar as their source so it is possible these are also Hezbollah.

Iran really bringing out the whole playbook here. Blood libel never gets old huh?
TL;DR: 'Journalists' in these cases always just jihadis with a press badge sent to die for PR purposes.

naa they think the press badge give them some immunity in war... news flash it doesn't

Regardless of their beliefs, if they're just there reporting what is going then they are no legit targets.

They're not though. Usually they're fighters and someone pins a press tag on them when they're killed.

So if it’s considered acceptable for Israelis to kill their enemies propagandists, does that mean people like Mark Levin and Ben Shapiro would be legitimate targets for Iran? Or is that standard only applied one way?

you think "he had reported on locations of Israeli soldiers in Lebanon." is something a journalist would do? or a propgandist?

Yes actually, filming invading soldiers is exactly what a journalist would do.

if you think that then no wonder he is dead... don't be suprised by that... being a journalist doesn't mean it give you immunity

So yes, that is something a journalist would and should be doing.

There are two sets of propagandists actively supporting their respective sides in a conflict. None of these individuals are journalists or combatants. Yet one group is labeled a legitimate military target while the other is not. That’s not a principled distinction. It is a clear double standard. Civilians engaged in messaging or advocacy, no matter how biased, are not legitimate targets.

you are lying... thanks for proving that
"Ali Hassan Shaib was a prominent Lebanese journalist for the Hezbollah-affiliated Al-Manar TV network, widely known for his decades-long career covering conflict in southern Lebanon."

Probably not, most likely not actually, but we don’t have a great picture here. Seems fishy on the journalist part. But what about the other 2 innocent civilians? I believe it a great tragedy that the IDF saw that 2 innocents would be killed mercilessly and still went with the attack. Goodness

google.
"Ali Hassan Shaib (or Shoaib) was a prominent Lebanese war correspondent for the Hezbollah-affiliated Al-Manar TV, known for reporting from the Lebanon-Israel border."
"Based in Southern Lebanon, Shaib was known for his long-term coverage of border tensions, often filming in close proximity to IDF soldiers, [notes the Alma Research and Education Center](https://israel-alma.org/ali-shoeib-serves-as-a-mouthpiece-and-as-a-hezbollah-collaborator-in-both-intelligence-and-military-aspects/)."

The "world's most moral army" is a stupid concept. From Hezbollah's point of view, the most moral army is the one that best serves Iran's interests and protects Iranian people/sovereignty. From Israel's point of view, the most moral army protects Israeli people and sovereignty.
