Maybe this will finally be the season where Danny Devito hangs dong.

Can’t wait. I thought last season was one of the consistently strongest in awhile. Mac and Dennis Become EMTs is in my top 5 of all time

Peak physical comedy as they act like they’re in the throes of pepper spice.
118
greennurse61 Apr 17, 2026 -22
How do you know they weren’t?
-22
Earthpig_Johnson Apr 17, 2026 +28
I guess I don’t, but I assume the actors were… acting.
28
EnjoyerOfRamen Apr 17, 2026 +11
I agree with you, but I'll give the other guy *some* credit. Mac has gained weight, then lost it for the show because he thought fat mac would be funny. I could see him eating something spicy for the takes.
11
Earthpig_Johnson Apr 17, 2026 +12
It definitely could be that they ate peppers, but comparing this to other times they’ve done physical comedy, like say Dennis and Dee eating dog food and trying not to puke while they breathe into each other’s faces, I’m inclined to think it’s just acting.
12
itsyagirlrey Apr 17, 2026 +8
Oh god don't remind me, that episode is on a never-rewatch-again list now. I'm a sympathetic puker (if i hear/see it I will throw up) and literally had to run to bathroom while it was playing on the tv and I lost my entire dinner. So disgusting.

I didn't care for the EMT episode, but last season was definitely the best one in years. The dogtrack one had an old school Sunny feel to it.
63
MaterialAstronaut298 Apr 17, 2026 +30
I also didn't really like the emt episode but franks in a coma is top 20. Maybe top ten
30
bensonr2 Apr 17, 2026 +18
My 7 year old loves is it cake. I showed him the end scene and he thought it was the funniest thing ever.
18
Cool_Youth3564 Apr 17, 2026 +10
I honestly didn’t think it was that great but I’ll always give their work a chance. After listening to the podcast, seeing how much more outside input they get in the writing, hearing how glen tried to leave the show, and all the other projects they have going on makes me think we’ll never get classic sunny again.
10
Thor_pool Apr 18, 2026 +4
The dogtrack episode felt like a season 1 episode but with Frank

I thought it was alright. The show has stayed funny but not as funny as the earlier seasons of the show
47
andyraylan Apr 17, 2026 +25
Agree. There are more episodes with each season that don’t land, for me, but there are definitely ones that knock it out of the park.
25
krectus Apr 17, 2026 +6
Yeah they’ve had maybe 3 really great episodes in the last 4 seasons. Where as at its peak they had 3 really great episodes each season.
6
GiveMeSumChonChon Apr 17, 2026 +6
I feel like season 10 was the last great season.
6
asdftom Apr 17, 2026 +9
I thought it started faltering during season 13 but still had classic episodes (time's up, new wheels) and then just felt different in season 14 and after. I think the average episodes were better in earlier seasons.
9
mottledmussel Apr 17, 2026 +6
Yeah, 11 and 12 were both very strong and had several of my favorite episodes -- old lady house, water park, suburbs, leprechaun, being frank, and frank falling out a window. It seems like after 13, things were much more hit or miss. Lots of good episodes but many completely forgettable ones, too.
6
The_dude_abides__ Apr 18, 2026 +1
Being Frank might be my favorite episode. Pondy is the coolest!
1
mottledmussel Apr 18, 2026 +1
Mine, too. It's funny because in my mind it's a newish episode but I looked it up it's from 2016. That whole season is great and rewatchable.
1

I absolutely hated the Bachelor episode. Worst of the series for me.
4
Professional_Ship471 Apr 18, 2026 +18
The one with Frank and the bachelorretes I didnt care for much but I loved the episode where Mac, Dennis, Dee and Charlie try and get a feedback from a live audience!
18
itsyourbuddygene Apr 18, 2026 +8
The live audience episode absolutely killed me. Peak Dennis. I loved it so much
8
Professional_Ship471 Apr 18, 2026 +2
The monologue “i neeeedd this from youuuu” and the old gay vampire joke!!!
2

Ok I could see it not being a classic to everyone but worst ever? Come on man. Chew on dat ting!
5

I used to be able to say "even a bad always sunny episode is still good tv" but that stopped somewhere within the last 5 seasons. I'll still watch it until they end it though.
1
ThickAndDirty Apr 17, 2026 -7
Agreed. They need to quit on a high note. They've been phoning it in for a bit now.
-7
Brainfoggynelson Apr 17, 2026 +11
Phoning it in?
11
Professional_Ship471 Apr 18, 2026 +5
I like the Emt episode but the one i love is the bachelor episode where they get scores from a live audience. Personally the gangs f* up abbot elemetary was passable and I was worried the gang lost the way but I was proven wrong with the following episodes!
5
Xanto97 Apr 18, 2026 +1
Rewatching the episodes on the podcast definitely lit some inspiration in them

1
Puppetmaster858 Apr 17, 2026 +126
Hell ya, s17 was a lot of fun and had some really great episodes, the rehearsal dinner episode was vintage unhinged Sunny. Hope s18 isn’t the last one, would be sweet if they could make it to 20
126
CrossoverEpisodeMeme Apr 17, 2026 +49
>the rehearsal dinner episode was vintage unhinged Sunny. I have rewatched this episode probably 6-7 times on its own at this point, and I believe it might be a top 5 episode in the entire series. At some point I'll probably post an unnecessary deep dive writeup of why I love it so much, but it checks all the boxes for callbacks to the previous 20 years while also making ridiculous new character traits that fit perfectly with the established lore. It's just too good and it's a laugh every 4-5 seconds during the dinner scenes.
49
Puppetmaster858 Apr 17, 2026 +29
Let your boyfriend flip
29
CrossoverEpisodeMeme Apr 17, 2026 +19
Perfect example! That scene incorporates the duster, his obsession with martial arts, his overly religious persona, and his ever changing sexual identity, and we ***finally*** get to see him try the backflip. It's just so perfect and so Sunny.
19
Puppetmaster858 Apr 17, 2026 +7
The backflip attempt was glorious, after so many years of him talking about flipping it was glorious to see it finally pay off
7
onarainyafternoon Apr 17, 2026 +8
I have been a sunny fan since season three was premiering, and I completely agree. It's just a perfect exploration of each of their characters, too.
8
CrossoverEpisodeMeme Apr 17, 2026 +12
You got me going now! it's basically a 20 minute speed run through everything we've ever seen from these characters. If you picked out 5-10 characteristics to define each member of the gang, every single one of those traits shows up in the episode in some form, even if just for a few seconds. I'm being hyperbolic and over the top here, but it's this weird fan service/meta love-letter to the show scraping bottle episode territory, and it even pulls in Artemis and the Waitress. And of course Hornsby was credited as a writer for the episode! It's everything I ever wanted in a single setting. I think a lot of people all point to the EMT episode as their favorite from the season, but years from now, this will be *the* episode everyone loves from this season.
12
Desperate_Method4020 Apr 17, 2026 +3

Each season has ended with a significant character moment for a different character. Charlie with his dad. Frank with a new wife. Mac and coming out. I wonder if this season will be Dee’s moment or Dennis’. I’m guessing Dee. Saving Dennis for season 19 if it’s the last (I’ve seen him as sort of the main character) and then maybe a group wrap up for season 20
32
Particular-Cat-1397 Apr 17, 2026 +28
It’s definitely Dee’s turn. They already had Dennis leave to go raise his kid.
28
Desperate_Method4020 Apr 17, 2026 +9
Which season was it when she made that stripper grind his gear in his daughter's face?
9
LackDisastrous8135 Apr 17, 2026 +2
Dee’s Rock Bottom. I love that episode 🤣
2
Kittyk78 Apr 18, 2026 +2
PTSDee with Cricket as Dallas Buyers Club Matthew McConaughey instead of Magic Mike Matthew McConaughey.
2
OutsideIndoorTrack Apr 17, 2026 +20
They kinda did that with Dennis's mental health day
20
onarainyafternoon Apr 17, 2026 +15
Dennis kinda already had his with his kid. He got his own emotional character moment where he just decides to leave.

I wonder if they have had a proper conversation about what happens when Danny Devito dies I have a theory that they have an episode locked in the chamber for if this happens
119
RoyalJellyKing Apr 17, 2026 +114
They continue filming Weekend at Bernie's style.
114
Anishinaapunk Apr 17, 2026 +40
The gang assumes he's just cake again, but this time they're traumatized when they haphazardly jam a knife and fork into him.
40
onebread Apr 17, 2026 +7
Honestly, a weekend at Bernie’s spoof as a finale and tribute to Danny would be an amazing send off for the show.
7

Or maybe they'll bring back Frank-cake.

They all seem close to him outside the show. They had him on their podcast and you could just tell there was this warmth he brought to them sort of like during the holidays when your favorite uncle comes to visit.
39
duaneap Apr 17, 2026 +7
Particularly Charlie. It wasn’t lost on me that it was Charlie he was calling trying to figure out where TF he was going and Charlie who went out to get him when he arrived.
7
JessieJ577 Apr 18, 2026 +1
They’ve been caught with paparazzi a lot going to dinners together.
1
MasterLawlzReborn Apr 18, 2026 +2
they definitely adore Danny in real life but I could totally see them doing an episode where he dies and they just unceremoniously throw his body in the trash like he always wanted. I doubt Danny would take offense to it.
2
JessieJ577 Apr 18, 2026 +5
It would be as heart warming as when the Whitest Kids U Know announced that Trevor Moore passed away from trying to suck his own d***.
5
atomic-fireballs Apr 17, 2026 +16
Just have his twin brother, Arnie, come take his place or the season.
16
TonyWonderslostnut Apr 17, 2026 +5
Well Frank’s brother did show up in season 7 but I believe that actor passed way a few years ago.
5
ENROLpaints Apr 17, 2026 +3
That would actually be super funny , Just have Arnie for an entire season playing frank and maybe it was all a nightmare of him being a short bald fat man
3
Square-Freedom-5080 Apr 17, 2026 +5
The issue is you change a lot of the power dynamics and structure of the gang with Frank passing. A lot of the gangs antics steams from Frank being extremely wealthy, which allows are a lot of creativity when developing storylines. I kinda want them to do a bit of a victory lap and end on their own terms, just for the sake of Danny because I could foresee maybe a Schitts Creek scenario for the show where they finally get the recognition from the awards industry, even though that has never really been its thing.
5
RealJohnGillman Apr 17, 2026 +4
Maybe bringing in Dennis’ son and having him fill that role?
4
JamStan1978 Apr 17, 2026 +2
maybe when he dies they could make a movie to act as a series finale that gives them alot of time to really let this 'the gang decides what to do with franks body' concept while also giving time with each character for a final goodbye to them all.
2
IntoTheMusic Apr 17, 2026 +16
Some reoccurring actors have passed away over the course of all these years, and while Danny only came along during the second season, if he dies in real life, it really should be the end of the show shortly thereafter. He's too important to what makes the show work. He's part of "the gang"
16
Creative-Package6213 Apr 17, 2026 +1
Yep
1
JessieJ577 Apr 17, 2026 +8
Damn it’s something I don’t like to think about because he’s just a unique treasure in the entertainment industry. I think it’s pretty awesome that he is a multigenerational talent just by eating cat food on this show.
8
sargonas Apr 17, 2026 +23
I say just end the show cold turkey mid episode when they acknowledge he’s gone. Like, end the show mid episode, and end the season/series right there.
23
TheOriginalBerf_ Apr 17, 2026 +17
The beauty is that fits the show “and it just keeps going like that for a while until it just sort of ends”

2
Brainfoggynelson Apr 17, 2026 +2
Without Frank, the gang either has no money, or becomes insanely rich (this has been brought up in the show multiple times). Either scenario is absolute comedy gold for the gang.
2
duaneap Apr 17, 2026 +1
A wrap up episode and end it I reckon. I still love the show but I think it would be a more than reasonable point to stop. And from the podcast they all seem to be fine with it being over. They’re 100% set for life anyway.
1
TessaThompsonBurger Apr 18, 2026 +1
I vote for them bringing back Carol Kane from the S17 finale to fill that role.
1
broadsword_1 Apr 17, 2026
> I have a theory Mine is that Frank's sister walks into the bar as sole inheritor of his fortune, and is played by Bette Midler. "Merry Xmas bitches.." and then it cuts to black and the show concludes.
0
Jam_44 Apr 17, 2026 +40
Do we know if Carol Kane is back? She would be such a good recurring character for Frank!
40
ComputerDecent463 Apr 17, 2026 +21
I expect “The Gang Goes to War” and fighting the homeless for control of The Straight of Frank Reynolds, which is just the street in front of the bar. Mac of course has an issue with calling it the Straight.

Dan_Of_Time 6 days ago +3
Rob came off so bad in some of those podcasts. Glenn at least was *very* aware that most of the things he complained about were "1% problems". I like how Charlie never held back in calling them out for some of their complaining though. As if we couldn't love him anymore than we do.

2
Punxatowny Apr 17, 2026 +3
I’m a huge fan of the show and the last season was great… except for the very end. Them on the talk show all blown up and unable to talk just missed the mark completely
3
Background-Tell5892 Apr 17, 2026 +6
Hopefully they go back to their beginning humor. Laughs have been getting spread thin lately with the recent seasons. I am guessing the cast isn't either trying anymore or they are just riding it out until its called quits.
6
hiigiveup Apr 17, 2026 +10
Last season had one of my favorite episodes ever (the dinner rehearsal one), plus some other great ones, so definitely subjective imo.
10

I couldn't watch past season 16 or so. Their faces are too weird and plastic now
2
LesHeh Apr 17, 2026 +1
Are they ever returning to the podcast they started and then abandoned?
1
Federico216 Apr 17, 2026 +6
"Official" reason was they had difficulties scheduling and their lease on the studio space expired or something. But they didn't really enjoy doing it and towards the end they were kind of phoning it in (like, sometimes forgetting to watch the episodes etc.) and just stuck with it long enough to record an episode promoting Glenns and Charlies movies (BlackBerry and Fools Paradise). It is a shame, it was entertaining and sometimes almost informative. I definitely learned to appreciate Marder and Rosells contributions to the show due to the podcast.

I was fortunate enough to get called in to work on season 14 (the rare season not shot on the lot due to stage shortage issues) and I just have to chime in that these are some of the nicest, funniest, most kick-ass professionals I've ever had the pleasure to work with. Not only is it like a family from the top down, but the way they are so dialed in that they can essentially improv as they go and tighten scenes, move around to get coverage and just blast through pages of script faster than any other show I've worked on... it was such a breath of fresh air. It's one thing to appreciate a show for what's on the screen, but it's a whole other level knowing it's just as amazing behind the scenes.
1
Gypwit 3 days ago +1
I love how EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE. the show has a serious moment to tug at your heart and trick you. I shed a tear at Frank is in a coma and then I laughed harder than I’ve ever laughed. Best gag they’ve ever done. Then Frank even does it again with the fork in the next exposure. I almost peed.
1
CryptographerUsed841 Apr 18, 2026 +1
No show should EVER run 18 seasons, but the clips I've seen from the earlier seasons are funny....except for Mac.
1
Less_Pop252 Apr 18, 2026 +1
Hopefully, unlike last season, more than one episode will actually be funny. Rob Mac has someone turned himself into the worst version of himself and other than Charlie and devito everyone has gotten progressively worse at their jobs. Not at the bar I mean on the show. They aren’t even good actors anymore.

Want to congratulate them on 18 seasons with every single episode being the same.

Regardless of how many words there are in the world, people will keep using glaze as an insult for something popular that people like and talk about.

I mean, it’s a very popular show that has remain consistent throughout most of its run. The last 2 seasons were some of their best in years.

i honestly dont think there were any bad seasons. Even the weakest season isnt bad, its just weaker than the peaks. Still funnier than most shows out there tbh
