>“Today is not a normal Oscars,” the statement begins. “Yesterday, the sitting Federal Communications Commission Chair, Brendan Carr, threatened that TV broadcasters must ‘course correct’ their coverage of the Iran war or ‘the [sic] will lose their licenses.'” >“FCC Carr’s threat to punish reporting on the war that the Trump administration doesn’t like came just one day after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth openly called for CNN to be taken over by Paramount — and just one hour after the president posted an image outlining his plan to ‘reshape the media’ by defunding public news, firing late-night hosts and news anchors, and waging war on media companies,” the committee’s statement continues. >The letter concludes: “Make no mistake about it: These are direct attacks on the First Amendment and part of a deliberate march toward authoritarianism. In that world, journalists are punished for telling the truth, media companies are expected to fall in line, and dissent is treated as a threat. But that future is not inevitable. Do not obey in advance. Speak loudly, stand with journalists, and defend the very freedoms that make moments like today possible. None of this is normal — and we must act accordingly, together.”

None of this is normal. The revolution will not be televised.

There won’t be a revolution. If there was going to be, would have already started. We’re fucked.

Revolutions don't start over night. Some people, a lot of people want to see what happens for the mid terms. That said there are lines in the sand that if crossed the revolution will begin sooner. I was afraid people wouldn't stand up when the time came, but watching sources like ap and Reuters report about the legal fights has given me hope. There are people standing up already. Revolutions start quietly. A beautiful visualization of this is the final season of Andor. Revolutions must begin quietly because if they begin loudly, they risk loosing credibility. Make no mistake, the revolution has begun. The resistance is real. Every day people are standing up to these jack booted thug pieces of shit. The tipping point is coming, don't loose hope.

Well said. Hear, hear. I feel we are on the tipping point as we speak. I’m sure more horrific actions from inept control freaks will continue the wave until the midterms. Our collective memory is much longer than they think.

Yes perhaps, but every word she speaks here is true. Don’t let your hate blind you. The Billionaire class want nothing better than to have people divided.
