Idk but it feels like the current White house is being run by a bunch of teenage edge lord brats who love showing off and think they are the superior. While outsider looking at them like a buch of clowns.

Exactly this. The “finally we have a globally respected president back in the office” crowd. This is a quote from JD Vance, by the way. They peddle the idea that nobody around the world respected Biden, because they themselves didn’t respect him. Meanwhile so many people around the world loathe and despise their administration, and especially their unbelievably greedy and completely insane narcissist of a leader.

Everything they say is like the opposite, "global respected" when everyone is laughing at this administration, "fiscally responsible party" when they've done nothing but grow the US debt and hurt the US economy, "the peace candidate" as he launches new wars against other countries, "fake news" when they're spreading more lies than anyone else, "drain the swamp" when they're the most openly corrupt, "free speech party" as they weaponize FCC, an actual government agency instead of private organizations like those they attack, to try to silence critics, etc etc, you get the idea

>Everything they say is like the opposite, "global respected" when everyone is laughing at this administration That makes sense when you look at their so-called glorious leader. This is a man who claims to be a business genius when in reality he has been a business failure. A man who thinks of him as handsome when he has a thick coating of dirt orange-brown spray on his face, and one that thinks of himself as being intellectually superior to other world leaders when he really is stupid. This administration is fashioned to be a trump 2.0, a trump governmental body if you will.

The fact that Trump is practically deified by MAGA as a great business leader has always confounded me. As you alluded to if you actually look at his business records, he is a total failure. People have run the numbers and shown that if Trump had put all the money his father gave him as his inheritance into Index funds, he actually would have made significantly more money than what he earned from his business and real estate ventures.

PM_ME_UR_CREDDITCARD 1 day ago +1
Because MAGA are gullible morons and Trump played a businessman on tv once.

Remember when they used to promote how video games were oh so bad at corrupting kids and were the cause of school shootings. Now they are willing to pump it in war videos and showing off their war crimes of killing people left and right like they don't mind.

Yep. It’s a full-blown combination of a) textbook projection and b) obsessiveness over controlling the narrative. Same exact playbook seen in Russia, for example.

Never forget that America is a legitimate Democracy. Teenage edge lords didn't magically take over. They stood up on TV and ran on a teenage edge lord platform and the US population said, "this is everything I could have hoped for out of a leader." What people think is chaos is actually exactly what the American people voted for. You think it's horror. For them, all of their hopes and dreams are coming true.

In the first administration I always found it telling that they thought "it's just locker room talk" for Trump's grab them by the p**** clip was a valid excuse - that they somehow can't see, beyond the grievous misogyny and criminal abuse, the difference between a high school locker room and the highest office of the most powerful nation in the world.

Shame that Nintendo did little to stop them considering how litigious they are against any potential copyright infringement
132
SecureDonkey 2 days ago +135
Because those copyright infringer didn't literally run this country and control 90% of the justice system. They are literally above the law right now.

Imagine if the US sanctions Nintendo and the Japanese Foreign Affairs Minister.
11
mcslender97 2 days ago +5
I wish the Japanese government would back Nintendo up if that happens especially since their litigious behavior is supposed to be so that their IP rights actually holds in Japan
5

Their IP is filed in USPTO and JPO. But this is related to copyright not IP.

Nintendo will go after everything they can, but they know that going after people who are above the law just means throwing away money so they don't even bother.
7
mcslender97 2 days ago +1
I get that. Though I remembered back in the day ICE arrested a bunch of LG and Hyundai employees that w6as supposed to help with the establishment of a battery factory. The Korean government immediately jumped into action and held the US government accountable. I wished the Japanese government could deliver the same energy and cover Nintendo especially when Nintendo's overzealousness is supposed to be their way to ensure their IP rights are actually valid within Japanese laws

For a fun experiment, ask your favorite AI which has been involved in more legal cases. Nintendo or the current US President.
-28
Berkuts_Lance_Plus 2 days ago +29
Why would you ask AI?
29
project23 2 days ago -31
Ok then, you go dig through the publicly available documents and compile the numbers yourself. Or... You could ask an AI chat bot because compiling and sifting data is what it is good at.
-31

Falsifying data is something else it's good at, lol
23
project23 2 days ago -28
Ask all of them, compare the results. Then if you still feel you have been fed a line go compile the data yourself to get a rough baseline and compare to the AI results. Then call it all fake news and get back to whatever it is you do.

I am not sure what point you are attempting to make. Nintendo is well known to be aggressively litigious when it comes to defending their IP. They objectively do this more often than all the other major media companies or publishers outside of Disney. Trump is also known to file tons of lawsuits. Difference his are almost always done in bad faith as a way to bully people by forcing them to spend lots of money on lawyers. I am not sure what Trump's history of weaponizing the legal system has to do with why Nintendo isn't suing the White House directly for IP infringement. They are not doing that not because Trump is somehow a very *very* good at maneuvering around the legal system(his true super power), they are not doing it because Trump is a wannabe dictator who might try and use his office to illegally attempt to punish them(exactly like he has done to Minnesota and the Catholic Church). So they are risking Trump lashing out against them for what gain if they win a long court case? [Lets look it up here](https://www.justice.gov/archives/jm/criminal-resource-manual-1852-copyright-infringement-penalties-17-usc-506a-and-18-usc-2319). Max $250,000. Nintendo's revenue in 2024 was $11.536B. 250,000 is approximately 0.00217% of 11.536 billion. To put that into perspective, if you were to take the average American household income and levy of fine of 0.00217%, it would come out to about $1.80. Nintendo would have to spend potentially tens of thousands of lawyers and risk unpredictable backlash from Trump and conservative voters, all to take on an uncertain and drawn out court battle to at most win an amount equal to a rounding error. People who are confused why the litigious Nintendo is not going after the White House for misuse of their content are not thinking through what that would actually entail.

I think Nintendo doesn't want to be directly targeted by the pedophile's tariffs or have their executives kidnapped by ICE and deported after a six month courtesy stay at a detention center.

They were also silent a year ago, when Trump Administration used Pokemon IP in ICE videos. They only putting their hand up now knowing that the sentiment has changed, not out of principles. Same old politics, and corporate bullshit.
