It’s truly heartbreaking. Forty-seven is far too young. He wasn’t just a pioneer for gay athletes; he was also a true NBA player who held his own for over a decade. I pay tribute to him for having the courage to come out at a time when almost no one else in professional sports dared to do so. Rest in peace, Jason.
