When the EU enforced its own laws against Elon Musk, his response wasn’t compliance, it was calling for the EU to be destroyed. Read that again. Every empire, every concentration of power, wants the EU gone. Not because it’s weak, but because it isn’t. Because it sets rules, enforces them, and can’t be pushed around as easily as a single state. That’s why Brexit was celebrated by Steve Bannon and Jeffrey Epstein, on record, in the files. Not for sovereignty, but for what it represented: a return to tribalism. Divide and conquer has always been the strategy. Break the EU into pieces and each country becomes isolated, negotiable, and easy pickings.

All of the worst people in the world want the EU gone, which alone is enough for me to be ride or die for Brussels

metalconscript Apr 8, 2026 +65
I’m actually going to try looking into EU food laws and try finding something close to that in the states, is it wishful thinking? Probably.
65
shiano0815 Apr 8, 2026 +88
I can sum it up for you in two sentences. In the US, food manufacturers are allowed to put anything into their ‘food’ that isn’t already banned – until a class action lawsuit is brought and the plaintiffs prove that chemical X is responsible for harm Y. In the EU, food manufacturers must prove that their food complies with food safety regulations and poses no health risk to consumers BEFORE the product is placed on the market.

yabushido Apr 8, 2026 +30
Another difference is in production environment. For example: chlorine washed chicken. There might be nothing wrong with the meat itself (altho 'might' is still a problem here), but it is faaaar cheaper and easier to wash your product than to keep your production line clean. Plus ofc meat must be procured from certified supplier. Guess what? EU rules are far more stringent than US - procurment, record keeping, processing and sales, the whole chain must be up to standard. That is why is so expensive to enter EU food market.
30
Elizabeth-WildFox886 Apr 8, 2026 +9
The market is also weird, Ireland is one of the most expensive countries in Europe and Irish grown and processed chicken is so much cheaper than any imported chicken and of much higher quality - we have Chinese, Thai frozen chicken options which are all more expensive than local glenhaven chicken
9
TheRealPitabred Apr 8, 2026 +12
Which is as it should be. Laws and regulations should protect the citizens, and ensure their ability to make a living.
12
alexefi Apr 8, 2026 +99
There is a reason why EU doesnt allow import of beef and chicken from US.
99
Mourdraug Apr 8, 2026 +61
It's not exactly true, the EU does not prohibit import of US beef, there are just proper procedures to ensure that the beef is safe for the EU citizens. The cost of compliance is just larger than most US exporters are willing to pay. That being said you can totally buy beef imported from the US in many places in the EU, usually it's horrendously expensive.
61
fatmithra Apr 8, 2026 +11
We used to work with US beef in our restaurant (best beef we had for a long time), suddenly they stopped importing it....because the vacuumseal plastic they used in the States isnt thick enough for EU food standards.
11
Background_Cause_992 Apr 8, 2026 +6
California and Oregon have some rules that are actually stricter than the US around food. That's probably the closest you'll find. Problem is there's nothing stopping food from other States being brought in, and the federal laws are the Lowest of bars
6
Botorfobor Apr 8, 2026 +6
The only thing you'll find is the complete lack thereof.
6
Dan-Of-The-Dead Apr 8, 2026 +21
EU most definitely isn't perfect and there's plenty to complain about but you're right. It's loudest critics who want it outright destroyed are the shittiest political leaders on the planet. Orban is also a proven traitor working for Russia. That he now gets official backing from Trump's America tells you everything.

Orban's Putin's lapdog, and so's Trump (and a few other, less notorious dictators like Belarus's Lukashenko) which leads me to conclude that Putin's the worst.

He's a vile, cowardly, shape-shifting, political chameleon - changes his "skin" to whatever he thinks gets him brownie points. The *very thought of him* raises my blood pressure - and feelings of doing him immense physical harm. I can imagine Usha waking up each morning and saying "Shit! He's still breathing!"
69
doneandtired2014 Apr 8, 2026 +23
I feel little, if any, sympathy for her. James Bowman's "There is nothing I won't say, nothing I won't do, no low I won't sink to in order to realize my South African Evangelical Nazi daddy's dream!" shtick was a known quantity before they even met. She knew what he was and elected to marry him \*anyway\* because she thought it would advance her own interests. The only people I feel bad for are their kids because they didn't have a choice in the matter.

The Ottomans occupied central Hungary for 150 years. Maybe he didn’t get the memo that that ended in 1699.

Hypocrisy is a core value in the Conservative worldview of "might makes right". They get off on it. They delight in being bastards, exactly like the Russians.

HoratioPornBlower Apr 7, 2026 +70
An evergreen quote from Sartre: >“Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.“
70
Dracious Apr 8, 2026 +9
It is one of those things too where it seems like it would be so easy to argue against the people with these beliefs because logically they are so flawed, but when you actually get the opportunity to try it is hopeless. Not because they are good at debating or arguing or actually have a good point, but because their point changes constantly, often even contradicting themselves. Even if you debunk every point and manage to kind of 'corner' them as they run to the end of their chain of points, they will often just revert back several steps and say 'well I never believed or claimed this anyway, I actually meant this other thing' and try and start a whole other chain. And that is if they don't just reject the concept of debate completely and just start throwing insults, personal attacks or act the victim and leave.
9
PepperMill_NA Apr 7, 2026 +28
Pretty impressive that he can be hypocritical in one stand alone sentence. He interferes by complaining about other people interfering. That's some top level bull shit right there.
28

Accuse the other side of doing it first, so then you're allowed to do it yourself.

The US is in a not-war and the US government is partially shutdown (again) And the VP is off interfering in another sovereign nation's election The US leadership is an embarrassment.
1557
spidereater Apr 7, 2026 +74
It’s also cute that he believes his presence will help Orban. My understanding is every other party is banding together to oppose Orban because he is hated and I doubt they love trump and would be swayed by Americans coming to interfere. Especially given Americas current behavior. If they do love Trump, I don’t think Vance is really bringing anything. I think we are about to see trump’s administration embarrass themselves backing a loser.

democracy died on Jan 6, 2021 when we failed to try and convict a known child molester and adjudicated 34 felon count rapist Democracy died on Jan 6 when McConnell failed to convene the senate to bring impeachment charges against trump The biggest disgrace of all, Merrick Garland, a federalist society member, who also has deep ties to lawyers from Amazon and Bp, namely Jamie Gorelick, was appointed by Biden, failed to act on the damning evidence and dragged his feet on bringing charges against trump due to the optics it may caused These are not serious people, they DO NOT care about you. The audacity is almost architectural. Vance standing there accusing the EU of "one of the worst examples of foreign election interference" he's ever seen while literally campaigning for a foreign candidate in a foreign election on foreign soil five days before the vote. The projection is so dense it has its own event horizon.

Why the f*** is he trying to help some guy get elected in Hungary and why would he out of all people appeal to their people? He is the biggest f****** d***** and I will laugh my ass off of they trot him out as the next presidential candidate.

because it's the same political group. A group that comprises Vox in Spain, FPO in Austria, Fico, the Czech prime minister (not the president as you've let me know), Bolsonaro and his family, etc. They present the same political template where they use immigration, create issues via media pushes and then try getting into power, where they try to: - Enrich themselves by plain corruption. - Enrich themselves by cashing in favours for the wealthy. - Selling policy to the wealthy (support for lobbies, Israel, other political members of the group). - Destroy institutions (so the wealthy have more power and corruption is less prosecuted). - Manipulate the stock market with erratic policy to cash in millions. This is happening and it's planned, look how they support each other and the flows of cash.
292

You mistook Czech president for Czech Prime minister.

10

You make it sound like they're just neoliberal bootlickers of the wealthy (which would be bad enough). The more concerning part is the fascism. Germany's party of that political group has been found to be incompatible with Germany's constitution. One of their most famous politicians can legally be called a Nazi.

You don't even need Russia to explain this. The US' express aim according to your official national security strategy, is to interfere with European elections and push it towards the far right. Said strategy all but quotes the 14 words.  Trump and even moreso Vance have been nothing but hostile to the EU no matter what the issue has been. Even if you completely disregard Russia, Orbán is an ally and a trojan horse with a veto on most EU decisions. The US has expressly supported RN in France, AfD in Germany, PiS in Poland and Reform in the UK as well.

This is the weirdest US Government in history. Can you imagine any other US Vice President ever going overseas and on the campaign trail to try to help an autocrat and Russian ally win an election over a pro-EU candidate? Can you imagine any other administration saying that it's no Russia or China that is a threat, it's the EU and other democracies that are? Can you imagine a US President mocking the UK's navy and Prime Minister? Can you imagine another US President trying to help Russia to conquer a European democracy? Has there ever been another time when House Republicans shut down work on major legislation in order to prevent the release of documents that exposed pedophiles? Has any other President that had a spiritual advisor compare him to Jesus at the White House Easter prayers? Has there been any other administration with no real long term plans other than to try to corrupt and turn the United States into a dictatorship?

Everyone in this administration does everything in bad faith. They lie and project with every breath they take.
4
ihateeverythingandu Apr 7, 2026 +5
Any accusation these cunts make is an admission. Look at it, literally everything they accuse people of is what they actually do.
5
sullyball008 Apr 7, 2026 +3
So of course our corrupt pres and his butt boy support a thug that sides with Putin.
3
CleanOne76 Apr 7, 2026 +4
Why are we endorsing this guy? He only has one other endorsement - from Putin.
4
clarksa0 Apr 7, 2026 +4
Can't make this shit up
4
dobrodude Apr 8, 2026 +4
Why the f*** is the United States trying to help this Putin acolyte get reelected? These Trump motherfuckers have to go!
4
Jorgen_G_Pakieto Apr 8, 2026 +5
JD Vance in a nutshell. Get angry at other people for things you are already doing.
5
despenser412 Apr 8, 2026 +4
JD Vance has no problem supporting a pedophile. Why does he think he matters?
4
SillyMammo Apr 8, 2026 +5
JFC Is this an Onion headline?
5
Spare_Shoulder_2049 Apr 8, 2026 +3
So, what are you doing there????
3
Brisbanoch30k Apr 8, 2026 +3
We’re well aware that MAGA cunts always accuse others of wanting to do EXACTLY what they are doing themselves.
3
griffoberwald69 Apr 8, 2026 +4
“Couch f***** accuses EU of interfering as he interferes with election (and couches?).
4
Gangy1 Apr 7, 2026 +3
Is there a group of Hungarians clamoring to JD Vance?
3
CantFeelMyToesAgain Apr 7, 2026 +3
Even Orban was surprised by JD’s bullshit speech lmao
3
External_Excuse_9949 Apr 7, 2026 +3
America’s Ambassador of Evil, vice president couch f*****.
3
No-Blueberry-1823 Apr 7, 2026 +3

3
will_kill_kshitij Apr 7, 2026 +3
Isn't orban a russian asset?
3
Nuzzleface Apr 7, 2026 +4
Yes, proudly. Should tell you where the US' allegiance is now.
4
16ozbuddz Apr 7, 2026 +3
Lol now it's stolen election Hungary edition. These people are insane
3
Top_Suit2175 Apr 7, 2026 +3
So, the US (a foreign country) is accusing the EU of interfering with one of it's countries? I thought the point of propaganda was to make something believable.
3
Really_McNamington Apr 7, 2026 +3
And bang there goes another irony meter. Getting through them at a rate these days.
3
Uncle_Hephaestus Apr 7, 2026 +3

3
Emadec Apr 7, 2026 +3
If you want to know what the nazi is doing, check what he last accused someone of doing.
3
moljnir40 Apr 7, 2026 +3
Couchfucker. Never forget that this person THOUGHT IT WAS A FLEX TO WRITE ABOUT IT. You are such a hypocrite and a monstrous, gaping a******, too.
3
CrownCommando Apr 7, 2026 +3
The face and eyes of a Nonce.
3
Cool-Association3420 Apr 7, 2026 +3
The EU is interfering?! He’s literally interfering in their elections wtf
3
NecessaryButNotSuff Apr 7, 2026 +3
“As he visits Hungary to interfere” would have been a more accurate ending to that
3
gaychitect Apr 8, 2026 +3
This feels crazy. Is it normal for a sitting vice president to get so involved in another country’s political process that they would literally travel to that country to stump for their preferred candidate? I don’t remember this ever happening in any other administration.
3
rechoflex Apr 8, 2026 +3
Every accusation is a confession
3
AllRedLine Apr 8, 2026 +3
Had to check this wasn't a headline from an article in The Onion.
3
m149 Apr 8, 2026 +3
Boy, Vance is sure on the wrong side of history there. What a fuckin jackass.
3
Abject_Elevator5461 Apr 8, 2026 +3
Every accusation is a confession
3
gimmesheltah Apr 8, 2026 +3
Trump's (pedo) mob siding with Putin yet again. The US is an enemy of the west.
3
CapableCod1339 Apr 8, 2026 +3
JD Vance: a shining example of MAGA idiocy.
3
Taphouselimbo Apr 8, 2026 +3
Jd licking a Putin puppet spineless conservative.
3
roadsidefoto Apr 8, 2026 +3
How is he gonna help Orban win an election that's already rigged his favor? Or is he just there to deliver a huge bag of cash, like in a cartoon?
3
ColHapHapablap Apr 8, 2026 +3
Interference is what you’re doing JD. And on behalf of Putin no less
3
JC1949 Apr 8, 2026 +3
Anyone else, it's interference. With the US, it's ..... well, it's ......, just us helping out.
3
ShagadelicShag Apr 8, 2026 +3
Of course Putin's little b****'s little sidekick would say that
3
aholetookmyusername Apr 8, 2026 +3
They're not even trying to hide the hypocrisy.
3
Kind-Handle3063 Apr 8, 2026 +3
Not The Onion
3
Dramatic_Mud2500 Apr 8, 2026 +3
Crawl back onto your couch VD Vance
3
JohnGazman Apr 8, 2026 +3
Wouldn't he be better off staying out of it if he wants to help Orban win? He's not exactly anyone's favorite.
3
Necessary_Tadpole629 Apr 8, 2026 +3
Why would JD Vance help Orban win? Everyone hates JD Vance.
3
NaturePappy Apr 8, 2026 +3
And that’s not interference?
3
Berlin1968 Apr 8, 2026 +3
Nobody wants to become like the US. If people in Hungary are still voting for this piece of shit after the other piece of shit tries to interfere, people do not deserve better than suffer. Seriously.
3
EntirelyDesperate Apr 8, 2026 +3
Every accusation is a confession.
3
xavandetjer Apr 8, 2026 +3
He says that as he is in Hungary to support Orban.

Quit influencing the elections I want to influence
3
SamuelHuzzahAdams Apr 8, 2026 +3
JD just isn’t the guy you send to help someone win something especially a popularity contest. WHY are we involved in other countries elections ?!?!?
3
Vulcant50 Apr 8, 2026 +3
Complains about EU interference, as he actively interferes with the election. Go figure?
3
mhmparis Apr 8, 2026 +3
Vance and Trump are such clowns. It’s so depressing to have these two guys running America. It’s totally and absolutely mind boggling how we let this happen.
3
The_Last_Bohican Apr 8, 2026 +3
Let’s help the most despicable leader in Europe…. Why not?
