Difference is, I can pay basically nothing to watch Seagal fatman slow-fu through bad guys from the comfort of my own couch. Even if the tickets were free, I'd still have to actually invest time out of my life to go listen to Kid Rock's "music".

I finally found out recently (yeah I’m Old and OOTL on most celebrity stuff) how shitty Staind guy was and it’s a bummer, a couple of their songs really got me through some feelings. Like when I found out the Pantera guy was shitty. Man, that was my first concert in 92! I caught a dimebag Darryl guitar pick! Rob Zombie’s not up to anything scummy, is he?
4

Oh I know. It’s still crazy that they’d need a show with such bad press. But even monsters have to eat. And obviously they don’t mind the optics.
12
AManisSimplyNoOne 1 day ago +5
When Staind came out with Break the Cycle I fricking LOVED that album and I practically wore it out. I got a chance to see them live, during the early 2000s, and literally the singer had to keep talking about blowing up the middle east, and other Bush era talking points. Now he is country singer that is all into MAGA. Looking back, I find it all highly ironic. A guy that literally whined in every other song about how SHITTY childhood and parenting is, now is one those family values guys. "Where were you, with all this I was going through, you never took the time --" Well by his own logic, he should have joined the service, took responsibility, manned up, hit the gym and all the other things those toxic MAGA influencers talk about.

502
RVAforthewin 2 days ago +229
This. We’re going to watch a plethora of entertainers, media personalities, and GOP politicians try to distance and disassociate themselves from MAGA in the coming years. In two decades, we will have all *sorts* of former MAGA claim they never truly were MAGA, and at least half of current MAGA will do the same once MAGA isn’t in power and it becomes shameful to be associated with the movement (even more shameful than it already is). MTG, Candace Owens, and Tucker Carlson are just the start. Edited to correct Candace’s last name after a very nice listnookor pointed out my mistake :)

It’s both satisfying to watch MAGA lose support but also saddening to know many supporters will escape accountability this way.

And we as a society cant let them. They need their noses rubbed in it for everybody to see. If we let them slink away from the absolute mess they've made, they'll do it again. There is no learning from mistakes with them, just fear of the consequences.

I think it’s a little of both. I don’t think he’s a full blown MAGA dude, but is sympathetic to country music and the country music fans who like rap. There’s been a weird blend of those two genres over the last decade or more. I think Nelly and Tim McGraw might still be homies from Over and Over. It’s still going to be so good! Kid Rock will play his 3 hit songs, followed by a dumb “patriotic song”, then announces RFK Jr is in the house. Spotlight hits on Jr chugging a gallon of milk straight from the cow with his shirt off, then followed by nonsense from him and back to the stage before Jr hurls it up. Uncle Kracker hits the stage, plays his two songs and show is over. Epic times for an epic timeline.

"SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Multi-platinum rock band STAIND is now headlining the June 28th Rock the Country music festival in Sioux Falls, replacing Jelly Roll, who cannot perform due to a scheduling conflict. Formed in 1995, STAIND has released eight studio albums, with Break The Cycle being their most notable, reaching 5x platinum and featuring the hit “It’s Been Awhile,” which spent 20 weeks at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became a staple of modern rock radio. Other hits include “Fade,” “For You,” and “So Far Away.” The Rock The Country lineup in Sioux Falls includes Kid Rock, STAIND, Brantley Gilbert, Chris Janson, and more, featuring both national headliners and rising artists." JFC. They are really trying to talk this up. For reference, other top artist from 1995 include "Hootie and the Blowfish", "Coolio" and "Boyz II Men".

God it's frustrating reading comments when they obviously didn't read the article. Jelly Roll isn't backing away from Kid Rock/MAGA, he's still a piece of shit and playing this tour: >Rock band Staind will step in as his replacement. The Rock the Country festival has faced challenges moving tickets, with some concerned it might be called off. Jelly Roll enthusiasts can still catch the 41-year-old artist performing at the Bloomingdale, Georgia, and Ashland, Kentucky, dates on the tour.

I've only seen Jelly Roll once, on SNL. I thought it was the worst, most pretentious c***. So I find it pretty funny that he's jumping ship.

Jelly Roll is as big of a loser as Kid Rock ever thought about being. "Yeah, I'm a racist bigot, so I was going to play with him, but there wasn't enough money in it for me."

$99 is still too much. I saw Kid Rock back in 99 and he was ok but I saw him at a festival, 20 bands for $20 and I don't think I would pay more than that and that's just because he had a midget then. You would have to pay me to see KidRock of 2026
