Trump hates smart people.

I wish he’d try shrooms or LSD or some shit and have a breakthrough and just f*** off and go live in the woods and leave us all alone.

Unfortunately from my experience doing lots of drugs with lots of people, some just don't "get it". Like they are so narcissistic the warmth, empathy, and sense of belonging doesn't happen for them. I think he is a candidate to just be like "pretty colors, breathing walls,  waste of my time". Or like Elon who clearly gets K mania and then announces to the world his wonder projects that make no sense and doubles down instead of being like "oh wow, I was high and that was dumb"

He's not going to stumble around outside for six hours. Unless it's golf. Golf on peyote buttons and psilocybin? I think DMT until he sees more clearly would do the trick. He's a busy guy and we're all in a hurry.

Nah you can't expect psychoactives to do all the heavy lifting. Joe Rogan blasted himself with DMT and ultimately it hasn't helped him expand his thinking.

Jerome Powell never wanted to be a symbol of resistance. But after standing up to Trump’s pressure campaign, he’s become exactly that; and his likely successor may be inheriting an impossible job. Catherine Rampell explains.

He has proven to be a man of integrity and Donald Trump despises that. The MFer has not budged and has massive balls of steel.

Yup wasn't a fan when he was confirmed but he totally proved he has integrity, props to him.

Just ask Dr. Fauci the cost of being the front man for the resistance.

Jerome Powell absolutely wanted this when Trump appointed him in 2018. He was willing to work with Trump then, work against Biden despite being appointed to a second term and now that Trump wants to replace him suddenly it's a problem.

I think a lot of people appointed to apolitical positions like this kinda thought Trump would “mature” in office or be reigned in by norms. We were all wrong about that, but that doesn’t make the thought process then illegitimate. Also, I think the dual mandate the Fed has kinda tied his hands with Biden. Inflation was stubborn and if he cut rates it would have gotten worse, not better. Economically, Biden was in a tough spot being the first post pandemic president. I think he made it an impossible position by his lack of readiness for how much the political game had changed.

>We were all wrong about that, but that doesn’t make the thought process then illegitimate. I appreciate that you think a thought process that lead you to being catastrophically wrong is still valuable. You've explained this in the same way that a scientist in a movie explains how his good early ideas lead to a device that's going to end the world. A bunch of people are about to die in this war with Iran, The price of everything has tripled, nobody can get jobs and rich people are currently planning how to run feudal kingdoms in the aftermath of the collapse of our civilization, but you want to make sure people don't think it was wrong to think Trump could have been controlled.

No. “We” weren’t even close to that. Your premise is faulty from the jump. Quit it, Man-in-the-Hotdog-Costume.

Please don't do this Merrick Garland shit with Powell. He's a Republican, he tried to "cool" a hot job market under Biden so people would lose their jobs.

Uhh Powell legit kept everything going. Dude dealt with Covid and massive inflation. He deserves a lot of credit.

He’s the reason why we don’t have terribly hyperinflation, especially after Trump’s first disaster of a presidency
