Jessica Jones's return is better late than never – but Daredevil: Born Again's reveal lacks punch | The writers missed a huge opportunity to properly integrate this long-missing hero into Born Again’s story.
Something funny about how this show reintroduces her so organically, and yet, now journalists want it to be grandiose, over-the-top, and fanservicey.
Nah, they handled it pretty well.

When it’s a big reveal and fan servicey it’s “slop” and when it’s feels more organic and lowkey it’s “lacking”.
This is why I worry about Doomsday and Secret Wars’s reception. Genuinely what do some of these people want?

Im glad she's back but the reason she's back was nonsense. The CIA guy who just broke ties with Fisk attacked her for refusing his job offer months ago? That is nonsense.

One of the few things in the Marvelverse that might still interest me although it was never really as good without Tenant.

They mentioned they were in contact with her (under the name Jess) in the early episodes. It makes sense her return was a little more low key and fits in the story being told. The article is just click bait and I'm not clicking.

I disagree entirely, had a huge smile on my face the whole time and I’m excited for Luke and Danny to come back too. Their team up fight was so fun

The title to this article is bullshit. I refuse to click on that clickbait non-sense anymore. They incorporated her perfectly into this season and haven't really missed any opportunities at all in Season 2.
First of all, the story is actually cohesive. Its not the hodgepodge BS from season 1 with characters being digitally inserted and characters speaking off camera and that one weird shot of Kingpin giving a speech with a CGI Mouth.
Second, the action is just a thousand times better than Season 1. Its real people beating the shit out of real people again. Charlie hasn't really transformed into some weird CGI character that doesn't respond to gravity like he did several times in Season 1. They also aren't breaking the fights up nearly as badly as they did in Season 1. [Heres a clip showing the action, if you wanna see.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPR4HvKt_1E)
Third, they are doing a lot with these characters now. They are ditching some of the weird c**** replacements Disney saddled the show with originally. They are making the new characters they decided to keep a lot more interesting. I especially like Buck and James Gandolfini's kid. Really wasn't a fan of either in Season 1. They are just way different and more complex now. I really like how Buck interacts with everyone, because hes different to most people he talks too.
Fourth, it actually goddamn feels like Daredevil again. I didn't get it all from Season 1. There wasn't a single moment in that clusterfuck that made me feel like I was watching one of my favorite Netflix shows again. Season 2 had that feeling back the second it started. You could just feel it, it had this focus and this obviously need to prove its own existence after Season 1.
Seriously, if you were a fan of the Netflix show you need to watch BA. Season 1 isn't great, its unfocused, has mostly shitty fight choreography & direction and features some truly awful replacements for characters the mouse didn't want to pay for but once thats over, we're f****** back baby.

I don't know what was the point. She appeared unprompted, they had a fighting scene together, she goes away again.

The phone call Karen received was Jessica wanting to meet Matt. It wasn't unprompted at all.

CIA agents came to her house to kill her. How was the "umprompted"?

But in the context of daredevil and daredevil only, when was that established? My dad and I who only watched daredevil and defenders were so confused why she came out all of a suddden so late into the season with no foreshadowing.
And why is Val involved all of a sudden?

Charles works for Val, she was named dropped earlier in the season. It's mostly about connecting the dots and not needed everything explained

For someone who only watches daredevil and punisher, this was definitely missed by my dad. I myself didn't notice Val being name dropped. Val is such a common name that I didn't make the connection to the broader mcu.
