Trump was lucky he was President when the Mueller Report came out because Mueller had the evidence to indict and probably convict Trump for obstruction of justice. From Joyce Vance: Some of the key results of the Special Counsel investigation: * [Thirty-seven indictments](https://substack.com/redirect/00dda304-9fbb-4955-be00-e00ce613c061?j=eyJ1IjoiMnF5Z2NnIn0.2ik4_JKLr26c6u71MyXsmjCwwkVcTIUFGvSZci7KVU8), including six former Trump advisers, 26 Russian nationals, a California man, a London-based lawyer, and three Russian companies. Seven were convicted. And perhaps most significantly, Mueller developed compelling evidence that Trump obstructed justice. Repeatedly. Mueller said publicly that the investigation did not exonerate Trump. * Among the specifics: Trump associates repeatedly lied to investigators about their contacts with Russians, and President Trump refused to answer questions about his efforts to impede federal proceedings and influence the testimony of witnesses. * A [statement](https://substack.com/redirect/c7348879-fbe8-43fb-b5d0-57373046507b?j=eyJ1IjoiMnF5Z2NnIn0.2ik4_JKLr26c6u71MyXsmjCwwkVcTIUFGvSZci7KVU8) signed by over 1,000 former federal prosecutors, including me, concluded that any other person who engaged in the obstructive conduct attributed to Trump would have been indicted.

So why didn’t they go after him?

Cowardly adherence to a long-standing DOJ policy based on a memo from 40 years earlier that says you can’t indict a sitting president.

These_Junket_3378 Mar 24, 2026 +20
Policy is not a law, nor absolute.

soapinthepeehole Mar 24, 2026 +26
You don’t have to convince me, you have to convince the DOJ.

But look at the DOW!

There’s a lot of precedents that have proven to be very damning Why you would ever have a precedent not to hold a criminal accountable who is running our country is beyond me I get the angle of not wanting to cause destabilization, but that’s exactly what our government is doing

soapinthepeehole Mar 24, 2026 +7
The real problem is that somewhere there is a Republican saying the exact same thing except they’re talking about Joe Biden being a criminal. While I find that objectively crazy, they would not and they’d believe it as strongly as I believe Trump has committed countless crimes. We have an information and education problem. But people on the other side of that divide think the same thing of democrats. I don’t know how you fix it.

DOJ policy prohibits indictment of a sitting president. Muller deferred tp the impeachment process to indict and convict Trump. Senate Republicans soiled themselves after not voting to convict Trump for his second impeachment in January 2021.

Swayze_train_exp Mar 24, 2026 +3
So he mentioned if Trump wasn't president he absolutely would have charged him, but DOJ cannot indict a sitting president only Congress can so he gave the documents to them but they refused to do anything.  https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/frontline/article/robert-mueller-statement-congress-impeachment/

If you believe as I do that T was "installed" to be the fall guy for all the debt (39T and counting) and his desire for ultra low int rates as is the desire of the Fed...They will crash it all to get inflation under control (82', 87, 91, etc etc) then wait for Americans to panic as their stocks fall (T hates stocks) and beg the Gov to save them w zero rates and printing printing printing..the black swan is DXY or inflation leaves them unable to print the next 10Trill in recession ?- Enjoy :)- btw, there is no such thing as AI..simply an excuse for the massive layoffs and let's the rich keep their gains- all part of the plan and T is doing everything by the book to ruin the 250 yr economy...it's over you just don't know it yet..Aug of 08'

Here is the testimony of former US Attorney Joyce Vance about why Robert Mueller did not indict President Trump: "In his report, Special Counsel Mueller declined to make a traditional prosecutive decision. In other words, he did not state expressly whether the evidence developed during his investigation into obstruction of justice was sufficient to warrant an indictment. "There has been a lot of criticism and confusion about why he did this. Two decades-old opinions issued by the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel (“OLC”)—one during the Nixon era and another following President Clinton’s impeachment—establish a Justice Department policy against indicting a sitting President. OLC policies are binding on prosecutors considering whether to indict a case. People can and are debating the wisdom of this particular policy, but federal prosecutors must and Mueller did accept it as controlling, as do I for purposes of discussion of the report. "Because the OLC policy prevented indictment, Mueller concluded that stating whether the President’s actions amounted to crimes, while not giving him a judicial forum in which he could contest that determination, raised prudential concerns about fairness and could impair the President’s ability to carry out his duties effectively. In light of those concerns, Mueller explained the elements prosecutors must establish to indict an obstruction charge, laid out the evidence his investigation had revealed for each instance of conduct he investigated, and analyzed whether there was sufficient evidence to establish each element. But he left the ultimate conclusions about the President’s conduct to the American people and their elected representatives, and possibly for future prosecutors to consider when the President is no longer in office." Blame Republican Senators for not convicting Trump during his January 2021 impeachment.

Look, Mueller frustrated me and didn’t do completely right by the investigation either, but imagine surviving Vietnam, receiving a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart, and battling Parkinson’s just for a draft-dodging, cowardly, rapist Donald Trump to tweet about you after you die. F*** you, you petty little b****. Mueller was twice the man you could ever hope to be and the only reason you feel bold enough to say this shit about people who accomplished more than you did is because he’s dead.

The fact you all worship Jimmy Kimmel shows that you all are no better than people that worship Trump. Hope you all learn from the Cesar Chavez worship.

I remember when the late shows used to an entertaining way to relax, have a laugh, and forget your worries. Of course, I also remember when Kimmel used to do Blackface and had that misogynistic talk show. Times change.

I thought Megyn Kelly said blackface was okay though
